Hey Destiny Church,

HOW ARE YOU DOING?

That is a huge question right now. We know that COVID-19 is affecting people in many different ways. For some, it has extreme financial impact. For others, it brings job insecurity. For many it brings anxiety.

We are looking for ways to connect with you during this time. Yes, we can stream our church services and have Zoom Calls for small groups and prayer time. But we also know that we can miss some things…or more concerning, miss some people during this crisis.

So we want to take a moment to hear from you, and we are doing this in a very unique way. We have connected with The Barna Group and Gloo to help design a weekly status report from you by asking the question, “HOW ARE YOU DOING?” You can take this weekly survey…about 3 minutes long, and let us know how things are going with you. You can be totally anonymous with your survey, or you can give us your contact information so we can respond to any concerns you might have.

In 1 Thessalonians 5:11, Paul says, “Build up hope so you’ll all be together in this, no one left out, no one left behind.” Well, we do not want anyone left behind during this crisis.

So, let us know…HOW ARE YOU DOING?

Text DESTINY1 to 90888 to start the survey or click here: https://assessments.gloo.us/a/RGVwbG95bWVudENvbmZpZ3wxNjY5Mjk4MDk5NTc3Njg1ODAz/details

God designed us for community. When we build relationships within the community of a Small Group, the potential for real life change happens! Now more than ever, during this isolating season of COVID-19, we need the support and community of these relationships. Some groups meet in person and some meet online over Zoom. Check out the directory and connect with a Small Group today!

One way we can leverage all this extra “togetherness” is to share stories with our family. Stories over time give your child a bigger perspective. Stories—even fiction stories—help children process the world around them. To help get you started, here is a list of three suggested books for each grade level that you can share with your child in the days to come. (If these suggestions are books you don’t have in your current library, you can read them electronically or purchase them from a local bookstore doing curbside pickup.) Bonus points if you can find the movie version of some of these stories to compare and contrast with the book! Got a good book recommendation we didn’t mention? Comment below with one of your elementary-age child’s favorites.

Hey Everyone, We hope you were able to join us this morning. It was really wonderful to hear from so many of you and see the greetings in the live chat. If we missed you, check out the message below and plan to join us for a live hello next Sunday at 10am. We love you and miss you, and we’re praying for you!

Parents, I hope you were able to worship together as a family this morning! If you have not yet checked out today’s lesson, please go to our family resources page on our website for everything you need. Our fifth and final bottom line in Destiny Kids for the month of March is “When you don’t forgive, you miss out.” We hope you all enjoyed this series!

Worship with us online tomorrow at 10AM here: https://destinychurchleesburg.online.church/

Some of you may have experienced trouble logging on this past Sunday. We apologize for the inconvenience. We have been assured that our new platform is ready to go for this Sunday! The good news... this past Sunday will go down in history as the day “the church” broke the internet. Even Facebook and Instagram reported intermittent availability due to the masses that were online this past Sunday. That’s good news!

We are grieved to share that the INOVA Mobile Blood Drive that was to be held on Friday, April 3rd at 25 Greenway Dr. Leesburg, VA, and all other mobile blood drives have been canceled due to ever-changing protocols in social distancing.

INOVA was shocked at the response of our community who registered to donate at this blood drive and is burdened to have to cancel it. However, since the need for blood remains constant, and the patients here in our community still need your generous donation, we are asking that you please schedule an appointment to donate at one of the Inova Blood Donor Services Centers.

Please go to http://inovablood.org or call 1-866-256-6372 to reschedule your appointment at a Donor Center.

In order to adhere to new safety protocols, they will be taking donations by appointment only.

Thank you.

Parents, use this question to prompt your kids to open up regarding their thoughts and feelings during this time. They may be wanting to share more than you even realize. Head to http://theParentCue.org for more crisis conversation guides.
