Prison Fellowship exists to exhort, equip, and assist the Church in its ministry to prisoners, ex-prisoners, and their families.
Prison Fellowship believes that no life is beyond the reach of God's power. Through partnership with the local church and other nonprofit organizations, we work together to meet the spiritual, physical, and personal needs of prisoners and their families, with the ultimate goal of seeing them restored to Christ, their families and their communities.
We believe that no life is beyond the reach of God’s power, and we envision a future in which countless prisoners, ex-prisoners, and their families, are redeemed, restored, and reconciled through the love and truth of Jesus Christ. We equip local churches and thousands of trained volunteers to spread the Gospel and nurture disciples behind prison walls, so that men and women become new creations in Christ – not repeat offenders. We prepare Christian inmates to become leaders of their families, communities, and churches once they are released back into the community. We support inmates’ families, helping them become reconciled to God and one another through transformative relationships with local churches.
Prison Fellowship has a vibrant ministry throughout the Pacific Northwest, including:
In-Prison Ministry: Prison Fellowship offers a wide range of evangelistic, discipleship, and pre-release programs facilitated by trained volunteers.
Family Ministry: The Angel Tree program reaches out to the spouses and children of prisoners. At Christmas, gifts are given to prisoners' children on behalf of their incarcerated parent and in the name of Christ. This initial contact can grow to a year-round ministry to families.
Reentry Ministry: Through our Community Reentry Teams and Bridge Churches, prisoners begin the transition process while still in prison and are connected with support and resources in the community.
Prison Fellowship networks Ministry Delivery Teams across the Northwest to provide a continuum of ministry that follows prisoners from jail through the prison system and back to the community.
Prison ministry is an exciting and satisfying outreach! Prison Fellowship offers training at no cost to volunteers and churches to equip them to serve with excellence.
Mission: Prison Fellowship exists to exhort, equip, and assist the Church in its ministry to prisoners, ex-prisoners, and their families.

The name is derived from the clause in the 13th Amendment to the US Constitution that made slavery and forced servitude illegal in America except for those who have been convicted of a crime.
The film is actually about much more than the 13th Amendment. Ava DuVernay, the director is a talented and bright star in Hollywood. She also produced the movie “Selma” about MLK, Jr and the SCLC in 2014. This film focuses most of the narrative on race relations and justice through the founding of America, emancipation, Jim Crow, the civil rights movement of the 20th century and today. The film was selected to open the New York Film Festival last week!
It is a privilege for us all that Prison Fellowship is thought of in such esteem as to be invited to participate in a film like this.
The title of Ava DuVernay’s extraordinary and galvanizing documentary 13TH refers to the 13th Amendment to the Constitution, which reads “Neither slavery nor...
