How do Lay Dominicans preach?
The two paragraphs below may change your life:
“....In the Nicene Creed Catholics affirm that the Holy Spirit "proceeds from the Father and the Son." The Holy Spirit is often understood as the Spirit of Love Who proceeds from the infinite ocean of love between
Father and Son....The infinite love of Father and Son is of such an intensity that the Third Person of the Holy Trinity flows forth,....."
"This aspect of Love giving life to yet more Love is clearly what occurs in marriage when children are conceived. The man and wife, in an act of complete self-giving, produce, as a result of their own love for one another, a new life…”
--- from an article written by Catholic writer who became a deacon Fred Bartels. According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church (second edition)paragraph 246, the Holy Spirit's "nature and subsistence" is "at once(simul) from the Father and the Son." A human husband and wife love each other and produce life-- this life is also a human being. God the Father and His Son love each other and produced the Holy Spirit -- The Holy Spirit is also God. The Trinity is a Family. Drive slowly because it is safer.
May I entreat my brothers and sisters on this site to peruse a site and discuss its potential among the laity?

LET'S TALK LENT 2019

As we continue this reflection in the Lenten period , drawing closer to our Saviour - note that His words are true and never fail

"" And we know that all things work together for good to those who are called according to His purpose"" (Romans 8:28)
The Lord our Saviour have given us authority over the works of His hands and share in his creation working for his glory and the good of all mankind

Lord grant strength -- body ,soul and spirit to put our faith in you and receive the fulfillment of your promise all the days of our lives

@LTL2019 DAY 12
Hey, y'all. I just wanted to let y'all know that I won't be coming for Feb--my son invited me to a field trip and so I'm going to go with him. It is on the same day. I'm pretty sure it won't be over until about the same time, but if I have time to swing by, I will. Cheers. Prost. etc. etc. BTW, happy feast day to our boy Tommy Aqua!
I just want to say what a joy and blessing it was to come home to our community at yesterday's meeting. I have missed everyone so much! If I didn't get to see you, I hope I will soon! Have a blessed Advent! 💜💜💜
Happy feast of Saint Dominic.

The Rule of St. Augustine 08/31/2021

The Rule of St. Augustine

Anyone taking a look at the Dominican Order will eventually come across the fact that St. Dominic adopted as his first Rule the Rule of St. Augustine.

The Rule of St. Augustine It was one of the oldest and most venerable rules in existence even at that time. It is short and adaptable. Dominic had been living under this rule as a Canon Regular, so it was familiar.

Dominican Life is the Image of St. Dominic 08/30/2021

Dominican Life is the Image of St. Dominic

Do we need another article on Dominican Spirituality? A series? Aren't there several books and resources out there already? Is it that hard to define Dominican Spirituality? I think the answer to all these questions is "Yes."

Dominican Life is the Image of St. Dominic We realized that while there are a lot of resources covering this topic, they are almost exclusively written by and for Dominicans living in community, i.e., not necessarily aimed at the Lay Domini…

What Does It Mean To Say, “I am a Lay Dominican?”

BY: Debra Weldon, OP, MTS Mark, one of my Dominican brothers, and I have found ourselves discussing what it means to be a Lay Dominican these last few months.

What Does It Mean To Say, “I am a Lay Dominican?” I was sitting in mass not too long ago, and someone offered up a prayer for the religious. It hit me for the first time – I am a religious, and that prayer was for me.

September Chapter Meeting-2020 - http://eepurl.com/hc6pHv

[09/04/20]   Dear Friends,

This year, on Thursday, September 17, 2020, my community, The Dominican Friars of St. Albert the Great Priory, is participating in Communities Foundation of Texas’ North Texas Giving Day, a one-day online giving extravaganza for our whole region.

Since its founding in 2009, North Texas Giving Day has inspired people to give, resulting in increased donations and services provided in North Texas. We invite you to join the movement and help us reach our goal of $10,000 on September 17. Here’s how you can help:

1. Give on September 17!

Your gift matters! On September 17, donate to the Dominican Friars on NorthTexasGivingDay.org between 6 a.m. And midnight.

Not available on September 17? No worries! Make your gift early between September 1 and September 16 at https://www.northtexasgivingday.org/dominicans

2. Spread the word!

Spread the word to your friends and loved ones about us and North Texas Giving Day! Don’t forget to tag #OPdallas and #NTxGivingDay if you’re posting online! Encourage your friends and family to give as well! Communities Foundation of Texas is even offering a prize for the social media post that’s shared the most!

3. Follow us!

Follow our page at www.facebook.com/opdallas to stay up to date with us.

For more information on North Texas Giving Day, visit NorthTexasGivingDay.org! For more information on how you can help our organization on North Texas Giving Day, September 17, please reach out to Fr. Francis Orozco, O.P.

Thanks,
Fr. Jude

March 2020 Meeting Update - https://mailchi.mp/d11b2bb547ae/august-chapter-meeting-525067

[03/12/20]   After consulting with a variety of people, and taking into consideration both the efforts being taken by so many, and the demographic most adversely affected by the Corona virus, we have made the decision to cancel this Saturday’s meeting. This decision is not made lightly, but with an abundance of caution and care for our most vulnerable members.

Since we will not be together in person, I’d like to suggest that we come together in prayer (from wherever we each are) at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday to pray a rosary and the divine mercy chaplet... for a quick resolution to this virus, for the souls of those lost, and for all suffering with illness.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Additionally, if you are willing to write a letter to a prisoner, as we had intended to do this month, please email Roy at [email protected].

Thank you all for your understanding. I pray you remain healthy and blessed.

Lenten Blessings,
Mrs. Natasha Childress, O.P.
