Celebrating our Pastor’s 49th Founders Day!

Sunday Morning Virtual Worship Service

Pastor Asa W. Sampson Jr. giving God's Word at Hopewell Temple Baptist Church.

We are excited that we are celebrating our Pastor Dr. Asa W. Sampson Sr. 49th Founders Day this year with a Drive-Up Parade today at 11:00AM.

We thank God for blessing us with such a humble servant leader and a man after God’s own heart.

We would like to invite you to celebrate with us!
Wear your mask and let’s social distance but show our love and appreciation for him today!

There are many lessons we can learn from David's story.

A key one is this: David, when facing the worst thing that he had ever encountered, took the time to remember what God had already done for him. "God delivered me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear. He will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine."
David stayed positive, and he prophesied his own future.

If you are facing some bad things, remember what God has already done for you in the past.
SAY IT, DECLARE IT, and speak NOTHING NEGATIVE about the situation.
"Lord, You have delivered me in the past. I know that You will deliver me from this as well! You have got this, and I choose to trust in You today.
I will overcome."

There are two world-views today.

The first world view is biblical and other is unbiblical. There is one that is Godly and one that is lawless - one that is of God and one that is of Satan. There are only two types of people on earth today... the sinners and the saved - those who reject God's offer of salvation and live in direct opposition to His will and those that have accepted His gift of Salvation.

There are those that are under God's righteous condemnation and those who are not under condemnation. Praise God that there is no condemnation for those that are in Christ Jesus - whose sins are remembered no more and who are accepted in the Beloved, and covered in His perfect righteousness - by faith.

Sunday Evening Worship

Sunday Evening Worship

You have friends who need to meet Jesus. Invite them to join you at church online. It could change everything for them!

You invite the friend, we’ll create a space where they can meet Jesus.

In life we are always met head on with many challenges that attempt to slow us down and even stop us from moving forward.
We have only one option if we are going to be able to conquer the problems we will face.

We are to be diligent in our commitment in SEEKING the LORD in worship in order to have the strength to overcome adversity. We are to persistently call on Him with great desire for His presence. GOD is our confidence to boldly press forward in spite of the hurdles, hardships, and hindrances.
Be confident in the Lord!

Understanding the Lord's love, presence, and nearness should lead us to serve Him and to deepen our relationship with Him. While we love God for many reasons, we want to express our love to Him today especially for His personal concern for us.
We are truly blessed with an incomparable God who listens to our every cry, recognizes our very own distinct voice, and tunes His ear to hear every one of our whispers.

Yes! I will call on Him, praise him, thank Him, confess to Him, and speak with Him as long as I live!

America is hurting from coronavirus, death, hardship, and loss. Our nation is fighting for justice and equality.
Our nation is breaking from division and anger. But, God is still God and He can bring healing to our land. He can bring unity and reconciliation to America. He can truly give us liberty and justice for all.
Let's pray for America. America needs our prayers.

“When confusion reigns around you in this fast-changing world, stick with the words of Jesus.”

The confidence we have in God’s promises should give us the courage we need to step out and serve Him, even when it looks scary. No matter how uncertain the times are, God’s net will hold!

The Christian life is a walk of faith, a decision we make, a choice which is marked by simple obedience to what God has called us to do.

God continues to unfold His plan day by day in simple obedience to Him as we let Him work through us, accomplishing His will and purpose.

As in Moses' day, obedience still requires the same thing:
Be strong, be courageous, and be fearless. But with the promise of God’s PRESENCE and PROTECTION, what else could any one ask? Think about it.

We can’t wait to fellowship with you!

It is critical to our faith to realize that the more we are deliberately still:

the more we hear God’s voice,
the better we recognize God’s activity,
the smaller our issues seem,
the bigger God appears,
and the more we follow God’s divine purpose for us.

When was the last time you relaxed in the presence of God?
Can you set aside just a few minutes today to “be still” before God, and to listen for His voice?

Jesus is our ultimate stronghold. Through His death on the cross, He faced the oppression and times of trouble we deserved that we might run to Him!
Are you oppressed? Are you in a time of trouble? Seek Christ, and put your trust in His work on your behalf, knowing He will not forsake you. Then praise Him over and over again.

On your birthday, we wish that your faith in God will become even stronger and that God continues to bless with wisdom and love!

Just Do It!

Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.

This is God’s promise: If we humble ourselves, pray, turn from our wicked ways, and seek God’s face.
#TheWellHouston #WearingGodsName

David's plea here is a direct reference to the Holy Spirit mentioned in the previous verse of this chapter.
What this means for us is no matter how hard we fall, or how much we have rebelled against God, we can always get up again and turn our hearts toward Christ.
He is generous to forgive us, and His love for us never fails. If we give our hearts to Jesus, He will once again fill our lives with the joy of His Salvation as we renew our relationship with Him, knowing He alone is our Lord and Savior.
