As the #1 Modern Orthodox congregation in the Southwest, we are proud of our diverse membership, which includes singles, couples, families with children, college students and people of all ages and backgrounds. Our convenient inner-loop location allows regular participation from those who live right here in Willow Meadows, as well as Meyerland, Bellaire, the Med Center area and beyond. Our inclusive and open policy makes Jews of all denominations truly feel at home. UOS is proud to offer a broad range of programming. We serve as the regional headquarters for Bnei Akiva in the Southwest and sponsor exciting weekly programming for elementary and high school-aged youth. Don't miss our popular Shabbat morning services with vibrant, kid-friendly programming and an exciting sermon by our very own, Rabbi Barry Gelman - which culminates in a large and lively social gathering over food and drink. Thought-provoking classes and other fun and informal get-togethers continue throughout the day and extend into the week. The UOS trademark is our unparalleled hospitality. “The United Orthodox Synagogues member made and collected more than 100 handmade Rosh Hashanah cards that will be added to care packages sent to soldiers in celebration of the upcoming Jewish New Year.
“People don’t realize how much sacrifice goes into the service, and when you are in a place where there is no Jewish community, or in a country that is actively hostile to people of our faith, this is like a lifeline for Jewish soldiers,” Garfinkle told the JHV”
