[11/12/18]   It may be raining and chilly out, but many people will come tonight to receive food and clothes. We need your help; could you a spare one Monday night a month, or possibly two to come be a part of the blessing it is to serve at Farrington Mission?

FACT: 75% of Farrington’s clients are Hispanic
FACT: most FM volunteers are not Spanish speakers

Last night we had Fiesta Familiar to reach specifically these clients. So many of them have not had the opportunity to hear the true Gospel of Jesus Christ. This event gave us the chance to share in new ways. Bombin the clown shared, a Spanish Pastor gave an amazing message and call to salvation, and we ended with a Spanish praise and worship service. It was beautiful to see the many people choosing to follow Jesus, and to hear the praises in song being lifted to God, just glorious.

In my opinion, this was the “event” that this community needed. To God be all praise!!!

If you have never served at Farrington, here’s what you’re missing: the opportunity to serve our perfect God, the blessing of serving a perfect God, the blessing of spending time investing in the clients we serve.

I urge you... come try it just once and you will see what joy we have found.

Mondays: 9-12am, 5:45-8pm
Thursdays: 7-9pm (basketball)

[10/24/18]   The months of November and December are busy, busy, busy at Farrington Mission. If you have ever considered serving or are curious what Monday distribution looks like, please join us any Monday night from 5:45-8:00 p.m.

[10/24/18]   As the holidays are upon us and many of us are already thinking about Christmas, please consider donating new or very like-new unwrapped presents to the children (infant-17 years) that we serve at Farrington Mission. Starting in November clients will be able to shop for their children on Monday nights.

[10/21/18]   Fiesta Familiar is this coming Sunday, October 28th 5-8 pm.

[10/03/18]   Farrington will be closed October 8th for Columbus Day.

[08/28/18]   As we reflect on where we all were this time last year, I was reminded (again) why we all worked so tirelessly to rebuild Farrington.

A man came in this morning not knowing anything about Farrington Mission, but hoped that we could help him. He had been incarcerated in the past and just came out of the hospital battling depression and anxiety. He needed food, but he needed so much more. As I shared the Gospel with him, he shared that he’d never heard it before. He’s heard the name Jesus, but never knew him. He wasn’t quite ready to let go of his current lifestyle, but he over and over said that he never expected to be accepted and treated with kindness. When I gave him a Bible he nearly cried. He held it like it was more precious than gold (and it is).

This man, and many others like him, is why we worked so hard and why we continue to reach this community.

Please pray for him. Please pray for all of our clients. Please pray for our volunteers. Please pray about how you can be involved.

[07/25/18]   School supplies will be given out to clients every Monday in August, starting August 6th. Children must be currently on your client profile.

[07/01/18]   Farrington is closed this week for the July 4th holiday.

[06/17/18]   Farrington Mission is now collecting school supplies for the children of the Fifth Ward. Our greatest need is mesh or clear backpacks (required by the school district). We will start distributing supplies the first week in August.

[05/27/18]   Farrington will be closed Monday, May 28th for Memorial Day.

NEHBC kids working hard Monday night making bags of snack foods for next weeks boxes. The room was a mess, but they stuck to their job and got about 75 bags made. Training them up right.

25 Humble Christian School Honor Society students worked for several hours yesterday morning preparing us for distribution. What a hard working group of kids. Thanks for all of your help.

Check out the new sign for The Source For Women. We are in the business of saving lives because that is the business of our Lord. One life at a time.

Shopping for Farrington food pantry always leads to lots of stares, lots of strange guesses as to what I’m going to do with all of this food, and best of all great Gospel conversations.

You don’t need to pay for a gym membership, just come down to Farrington and help stock shelves and prep food boxes.

[09/11/17]   Do you have any connections that can help us source food for distribution? We are in desperate need of food items to distribute to those impacted by Hurricane Harvey! All donations are tax deductible and will serve those who need it most in Houston's Fifth Ward!

[09/11/17]   Farrington Mission will be open again this Saturday from 9 am - 12 noon as we distribute food and relief items to those affected by Hurricane Harvey. Join us as we help those in Houston's Fifth Ward.

[07/23/13]   It's hard to believe, but the start of the new school year is right around the corner. As in previous years, Farrington Mission will be collecting school supplies and school uniforms (new or gently used). These will be given out every Monday in August during food pantry/clothing closet hours.
