"Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." James 5:16
People of Prayer was started in the Fall of 2007 on the campus of then, Methodist College, now Methodist University in Fayetteville, North Carolina. A group of college students had the desire to pray and begin to meet and pray in the Hensdale Chapel to pray and intercede. Not too long after its start, the group of students added a Conference Call prayer line and began to host prayer for people around the country. Every Thursday night prayer was held in the chapel and callers also called in to pray. Years after the start and the students graduated or moved on, the prayer line continued and people continued to be blessed by the Power of Prayer. People of Prayer STILL believes that PRAYER STILL WORKS, and continues to pray without ceasing.
Mission: To encourage everyone to pray and communicate with God EFFECTIVELY through Prayer.

Friends, as we prepare for the transition of power in the United States, let's pray
for our leaders and country. Please pray this prayer and share with others. God bless you! #PastorSuzette
Almighty Father, we thank You for the United States of America and for the democratic process! Thank You for establishing Your authority in our form of government. Thank You for hearing our prayers and establishing Your will for all people in our nation. Lord, the earth and everything in it is Yours. The world and all its people belong to You. You laid the foundation of the earth on the seas and built it on the ocean depths.
Father, You control world events; You remove kings and set up other kings. You give wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the scholars. You are Omniscient, Omnipresent, and Omnipotent. We acknowledge You as the only living God.
Heavenly Father, using the authority given to us, we call forth Your Kingdom to come and Your divine will be done during the Presidential Inauguration ceremony and festivities. We decree God’s hedge of safety and security around the Trumps and Pences and all inaugural participants. No weapon formed against them will prosper. We cancel the demonic assignments of assassination, murder, destruction, confusion and cynicism. We command peace be still in Washington, D.C. and at all of the events leading up to and following the Presidential Inauguration!
Holy Spirit, please touch the Body of Christ, regardless of party affiliation, to pray continually for President Trump, Vice President Pence, Congress and all federal officials. Father, as President Trump places his hand upon the Bible and solemnly swears before You to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution, give him a Damascus road experience that results in genuine salvation, a true conversion experience. Create in him a new heart and mind and prompt him to consult the Holy Spirit before making decisions. Holy Spirit, give him wisdom and integrity to know what is morally right and an uncompromising courage to lead with integrity.
Position men and women within the President’s inner circle, whose hearts are totally submitted to Your leadership. Increase the discernment of the Secret Service, FBI, CIA, and national security personnel who are on duty during the festivities. We ask You to send Your angels to guard Washington D.C., and the surrounding metropolitan areas, including the airspace, during this historic inaugural celebration.
Holy Spirit, please heal the wounds that negative politics, fear and ignorance have created within our nation. Unify our nation and empower the Body of Christ to lead the effort in the healing process.
Righteous Father, please forgive President Trump, Vice President Pence, Congress, all federal officials and the citizens of our nation for the ugly and ungodly behavior that has been displayed before You. Forgive those persons who have been self-serving, boastful, proud and arrogant. Forgive those for choosing lies over the truth and compromising Your Word. Forgive those for not acknowledging Your authority and governance in our country. As a nation, we realize that our sins are many. Please, Father, have mercy upon us. Show all of us those we need to forgive and help us to forgive, especially those who have been offensive during the national election season.
Holy Spirit, as a nation, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one. Great and marvelous are Your actions, Lord God Almighty. Just and true are Your ways, King of the nations. Who will not fear, O Lord, and glorify Your Name? You alone are Holy. All nations will come and worship You,
for Your righteous deeds have been revealed. Your throne, O God, endures forever and ever. You rule with a scepter of justice. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
