Loving because it's the right thing. Serving because the world needs it. Welcoming because hospitality matters. Teaching because there's much to learn.

Week of Compassion
Join us for Compassion in Action!
This week, we'd like our church family to join us in these exercises to increase our mindfulness of other people & to grow our compassion for the world. Over the next 6 days, we invite you and your household to engage as many as possible. The quoted prompts come from Jesus’ words in Matthew 25.
Monday, Feb 17: "I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink." Today, you are invited to drink only water. It may feel like a real deprivation, but every glass is also a reminder of the bounty not all the world shares —our water is clean, safe and readily accessible.
Tuesday, Feb. 18: "I was naked and you clothed me." Today, we consider the needs of those without stable housing, closets and dressers full of clothes. Helping agencies are always asking for new socks and underwear for all ages. Buy some of these staples and donate them.
Wednesday, Feb 19: "I was hungry and you gave me food." Today, you are asked to feed yourself on $2 for the day. Three meals, $2.00. What you save on food, consider adding to the Week of compassion special offering.
Thursday, Feb 20: "I was sick and you took care of me." This evening, try to manage your usual routine while pretending to have an ailment or physically limiting factor. See how long you can carry out the experiment — and whose help you need. (Conditions are randomly assigned by birth month-scroll down )
Friday, Feb 21: "I was a stranger and you welcomed me." Tonight, you are invited to sleep on the floor (or generally sleep less comfortably than usual). So many refugees sleep wherever they can lay their head.
Saturday, Feb 22: “I was a prisoner and you visited me." Consider someone incarcerated, and how you might “visit” their cell with good words.
Sunday, Feb 23: See you in worship!
Notes for Thursday’s Challenge:
Try to mimic these common ailments all evening. If your Birthday is in…
Jan – Feb: Anemia (Can’t move quickly and prone to collapse or fainting)
March - April: Withered arm and hand
May – June: Fever/Illness caused by parasite
July – August: Limp from an untreated condition
Sept- Oct: Blindness or uncorrected vision
Nov-Dec: No limitation (How many family members do you end up helping?)

Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)
Happy Thanksgiving from Disciples Center!
No other time of the year captures our imagination as much as Christmas: God coming into the world on a dark winter’s night; a baby’s cry that would change the course of human history; the heavens bursting into song; the certain hope that God will have the last word over our brokenness. This season fills our hearts with the wonder that anything is possible.
This year, rediscover the true wonder of Christmas by sharing the love of Christ with others. Join us the first three Wednesdays of December for a Bible Study with Rev. Campbell. The study will be based on Ed Robb and Rob Renfroe's book, "The Wonder of Christmas: Once You Believe, Anything Is Possible." You do not need to purchase or read the book to participate. Coffee will be provided, but you are invited to bring a snack to share as we gather at 10:00am in the Fellowship Hall.
Come add a feather to our gratitude Turkey's!!!
Don't forget! Please make plans to stay after worship
