community event with tons of kiddos and families. Not sure but there STILL might be folks waiting for some face painting!🤣 The gospel was proclaimed...good food...the warm fellowship of working for the Lord...and a beautiful spring day from God as a backdrop to it all!

[07/17/18] MacPherson friends: Be sure to check your emails for information about an upcoming church trip to Medieval Times in Myrtle Beach, SC. The date is August 9 and we have a quick turnaround for RSVPs. I must hear back from you by next Tuesday, July 24 at 4 pm. All the details are in your email or you can call me (Rene) in the church office with any questions!
[06/25/18] MacPherson FRIENDS: As of Monday, June 25 at 8:30 am, we are without telephone, Internet, or the in-house network. If you have an emergency in the meantime you can text Pastor Jim or myself. We will let you know when we have things up and running again.
[02/15/18] Monday through Friday mornings, it is MacPherson's privilege to welcome an English as a Second Language Class from FTCC. For most of the students, Korean is their primary language. Their presence in the church each week brings life to the quiet hallways, and they are always generous to share with the staff when they celebrate special events. Today the Koreans celebrate Lunar New Year, and the students generously shared a special soup with us and their warm and friendly company. MacPherson is blessed each week as we observe their diligence in study as well as their generosity to and respect for the church!
MacPherson Friends: Pastor Jim wanted me to let you know that Wednesday Evening activities have been CANCELLED for tonight, Wednesday, January 17.
If you have a church friend who participates in any Wednesday evening activities but is NOT on Facebook or email, would you please give them a call and pass the word?
I (Rene) will be in the office just a little while longer this morning . . . not gonna get caught on the roads like last time!
Please remember to be safe and stay warm and dry tomorrow.
Well friends, it's sunny and blue skies outside right now . . . but they say the weather won't stay that way into tomorrow. Pastor Jim asked me to let you know that any weather-related decisions about Wednesday evening activities will be made by 1 pm on Wednesday. Stay tuned to email and Facebook for any announcements! ~ ~ Rene

[01/04/18] The church office will be closed today. Please remember to be safe. If you do not need to go out and drive please stay home. Be safe and be blessed!
good afternoon everyone,
I am sure that everyone is watching the weather situation. I just want to let
you know that dinner is still being prepared. Pete and Marion have been cooking
since early this morning. I do want to caution everyone to use their discretion
before coming to church this evening. As it stands now according to weather.com
between 5-8pm is the greatest chance for snow at 50%-65%. Most of the
anticipated snowfall is supposed to be east of I-95. As with all that we do in
life I ask that you all be safe.
I will be at church regardless. Dinner is still on and all other activities we
will determine as we see what happens at 6. Above all else pray that everyone
will be safe and the storm will miss us.
Let's play a guessing game, MacPherson. Know what this is?? Put your answer in comments and we will reveal on Monday!
A Blessed Christmas to all at MacPherson from the folks (and some family) who provide your music, clean your church, manage your money, shepherd your souls, run your office, and "other duties as assigned!" (Missing were Amanda and Dianne.) We also wish you a Blessed New Year!
Liz Hart wears many hats at MacPherson including "Maker of the Visitor Bags." She is well stocked for Cantata Sunday. Wouldn't it be great to give all of these away? If you haven't already, be sure to invite someone this Sunday--friend, neighbor, family member, coworker, the lady who checked you out at Wal-Mart....!
Also at MacPherson today, the FTCC English as a Second Language class met as usual and held their annual Christmas party. This is just a small sampling of the goodies they shared with Pastor Jim, Beth, Amanda, and me! They are deeply grateful that MacPherson has given them a home here and your secretary can tell you it's a joy to see the church buzzing with life every morning when they're here!
Lots of pretty music in the church today as Amanda and Beth practice Sunday's EXTRA special music. 🎶🎶 You don't want to miss out!! Plan to be there on Sunday--and invite a friend, too!
So this is happening today as the plumbers continue their work fixing the broken pipe under the toddler nursery. Thanks for your patience while the main bathrooms are unavailable during these repairs. (Fellowship Hall and second floor restrooms still open!)
He believes one reason is that the explicitly Christian history of the holiday makes some folks uncomfortable in a country that, since the 1950s, has become more secular and more diverse in terms of faiths.
[11/10/17] MOVIE NIGHT UPDATE: Saturday night's movie night on the soccer field has been moved INSIDE the Fellowship Hall, in anticipation of the cold temperatures! So don't let the chilly forecast discourage you from coming out to hear some great banjo music by Buck Thrailkill and a devotion by Pastor Jim, followed by the fun and family friendly movie, "Night at the Museum"! You need not be a member of MacPherson to come and enjoy great music and great family time! Everyone in the neighborhood and community is welcome! Join us Saturday, November 11 @ 6:00 pm!
A privilege today for Pastor Jim and I (Rene) to deliver the lunches you all made to the Alms House in Hope Mills and to Rev. Clarence Page, who is working with volunteers for Presbyterian Disaster Assistance in Lumberton doing hurricane relief work. The energetic woman standing with Pastor Jim is Delores, the Alms House executive director. The Alms House takes Jesus' admonition to feed his sheep quite seriously, serving meals twice daily M-F and once daily Saturday and Sunday. They also do KAP--Kids Assistance Program--and prepared 475 bags of food--yes, 475!--to go into schools last week so kids did not have to be hungry over the weekend.
We have our new Take Me Box installed out on the athletic field. Here's to starting a new open door invitation into our church family... More to come, so stay tuned y'all...
