Sisters Anchored In Hope

A community to encourage women through sister circles, bible studies, social events and provide a "No Judgement zone" for women to talk freely about life

Sister's Anchored In Hope is a community designed to encourage women through sister circles, bible studies, social events and women retreats. We want to provide a "No Judgement" zone for women to be real, transparent and authentic. We encourage our sister's to always stay Anchored: Anchored in Hope (Hebrews 6:19) Anchored in Faith (Hebrews 11:6) Anchored in Love ( 1 Corinthians 13:1-5) Anchored in GOD ( Isaiah 12:3)

Operating as usual

[01/08/16]   Authentic is the buzz word these days but when it comes to worship, this is the core of our relationship with God.

Hebrews 4:13 "And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account."

We are naked before Him. That's about as authentic as you can get.
However being authentic with others is where we have the disconnect. James 5: 16 tells us to confess our faults one to another and pray that we be healed.

As difficult as this is, it is the prescription for the healing of our relationships with each other. Our worship not only exists toward God but is proven in our obedience to His commands AND our interaction with others. Today, meditate on Hebrews 4:13 and determine that you will live that way in the most intimate of your relationships. Authentically!

The Invisible Woman

Greetings ladies, I wanted to encourage those of you who feel invisible. No that you matter!

[11/22/15]   So, I'm learning to be a daughter of God. Just a daughter. Nothing else. No expectation but just to accept the fact that I am loved, accepted and deeply longed for. Learning to rest without worry. Trust without fear. To rely totally on the fact that God loves me and I can never be separated from that. From Him. Total security and belonging. Yes. I'm learning. This does not come naturally for me.

The world is an unkind place and I have done unkind things to others, in part, because I haven't understood this place. Or more, given myself permission to live there. This place of peace that expects nothing from me but to celebrate what is given and find joy in the belonging. Nothing more and nothing less. And out of THIS place I live, love and serve my purpose in the world!

I look at Jesus and take my cues from him. He was a son. THE Son! He was established in that sonship by the love, acceptance and celebration of His Father. God. He lived a life of rest, confindence and assurance all because He was loved. This is the life that my Father wants for me and sent Jesus, partially, to show me how to live in it. And mostly to prepare a place for me IN that love. To live and remain there eternally. Not just in a frame of time but in my very existance and essence.

This place of belonging is so hard to come by because it has to war against everything I've been taught and groomed to believe about myself and those who love me. Mostly about love itself. It has to fight shame, fear and perception. And believe me, these powers are very strong, but something; NO! Someone, exists who is stronger. Who is fierce and will not do without me living and believing that I am loved unconditionally. A warring love that did not settle for less than me fully alive in Him! That is what makes the cross of Jesus Christ SO amazing! Love was demonstrated! Not in a trinket given or a service offered or a favor done, but in a life layed down for one who was never nor could ever be worthy. But in that love, God layed it all on the line!

God demonstrated His love in this: that while I was still powerless to change anything or to offer anything to Him, Christ died for my sins, my infractions. My hatred, my rebellion and rejection of God Himself. While I was still hating, Christ died to crush it in my life. While I was still rebelling and running, Christ died so love could run to ME and embrace ME!!!! Love was demonstrated, not just talked about.

Love put up! Love acted! Love layed down it's bet! And I was the prize! Can you imagine?! Can you even fathom???

In THIS love, I am held! Into THIS love I am woven to create a tapestry of God's tremendous heart for mankind. In THIS love I am forged through suffering and sorrow so that the resurrection life can be demonstrated in me! THIS love that can never be defeated, never be quenched, never be chained or held back! In THIS love I am safe and sound, always!

So, yeah, this learning to be a daughter........I think I am going to like it here. It is a place of strength, not as the world knows strength but Kingdom of God strength that is demonstrated in weakness, victorious in suffering and patient in all tribulation! Don't ask me how, because I don't know but when God speaks it, it just IS and I'm learning not to question it but to find my place in this beautiful heart that loved me and gave Himself for me.

[10/30/15]   I would like to share some thoughts w/ you to encourage you to life your values and convictions w/o apology!

Stop Running From Who You Really Are!!

How many times have you heard that whisper in your heart?

How many times have you heeded it?

Every moment of every day we are faced with a choice: Abandon ourselves to authenticity or live for the approval of others.

Those others may be our spouse, parents, friends, a boss and other significant people in our lives. And we choose every day whether to keep our power or give it over to their opinions and approval.

What if, instead of making a choice, we made a decision? “Isn’t that the same thing?”, you ask. Not quite. A decision is something we do ahead of time that governs our choices thereafter. A decision is an iron clad stance that we take in our lives and then when we have to make choices, we do so out of the decision we have already made ahead of time.

What if you made a decision to stop running and embrace fully, warts and all, who you really are? That way, all your choices to strive for approval and gain recognition would be simple. All the guess work and analyzing you do would be eliminated and you would have no need of a conversation with yourself when faced with authenticity because you have already made the decision to be true to who you really are!

Sound simple? It is! Sound easy? It’s not!

Whatever the reason, and there are zillions of them, we have such a hard time embracing our trueness, it needs to be realized and then confronted if we are going to live a powerful life. And we all want that don’t we? By powerful, I don’t mean to lord it over people or be famous. I mean to impact the world for the better and for change!

Even if your world is simply your family, a group of friends or your community. It can be one person. Look, the greatest, most significant impact you can make is in your children, because they grow up to influence and impact the world and so on and so on. To the degree you are who you really are is the degree at which you will have an impact even after you are gone!!!

Your life speaks all the time. What do you want it to say??!!

I believe that many of the mental and emotional problems we face is because we aren’t true to our own heart, convictions and values because we seek the approval of others or of systems. And each time we do that, we kill another part of our authentic selves. This results in identity crisis, mental agonies and other malfunctions of our emotions AND of our relationships!

So what do we do to make that DECISION?

1st- We need to assess if we are truly living our own convictions, values and opinions or those of someone we may admire, fear or hold in high esteem. Sometimes we give our power to systems; political, educational or religious that dictate our lives instead of following what we know to be true in our hearts.

2nd– We need to analyze why we may have given that power to them. What is it, in us, that will not possess our own power and WHY. It may be that we want to remain victims or allow others to take responsibility for our lives and happiness instead of doing the work ourselves. It may be a trauma that we experienced that is causing us to fear. Whatever the reason, we must own it!

3rd– We must take the time and the space in our lives to discover what we do believe and what we value AND what we want to give our energies to that is in line with those values. What is worthwhile to us and our lives and not just the whim of another person we are trying to please? Sometimes when we live so much of our lives pleasing others and living for their approval, we totally loose sight of our own values and beliefs and they have to be resurrected again. So taking the time to meditate, pray and/or consider these things is crucial to living authentically.

And lastly– live them! NO ONE CAN DO THIS FOR YOU. And frankly, NO ONE WILL! We must be about our own values and convictions in life and stand by them. Even if it means loss of friends, opportunities and, loss of who we once were that was so approved of who is now replaced by authenticity. Believe it or not, this can be almost like a death. But the beautiful thing is, our true selves are resurrected!!

I think of Jesus, who was all about living TRUTH. In fact, the Bible says He is the TRUTH! I look at the scriptures where he told people who he was and they mocked him and wanted to kill him; because the Truth was inspiring more followers than the religious system of his day. He didn’t come to bring religion. He came to bring a new way of living and to that mission, he was committed to the death! My desire is to live just as committed to who God created me to be and to the work He called me to do as Jesus was and through that, inspire others to do the same!

So……stop running and start living! In your uniquely created self!

[10/16/15]   "If you want to build a ship, don't drum up people to collect wood and don't assign them tasks and work, but rather teach them to long for the endless immensity of the sea."
Antoine de Saint-Exupery

The same is true for worship. If you want to see people worship God, don't teach them all the mechanics, show them Jesus and their hearts will brim over with worship and adoration!!!

[10/08/15]   If Jesus is not the fountain from which our worship flows then it's no worship at all. If His love is not the foundation of our adoration it's no worship at all. It was His love, His blood and His Promise that brought us life and therefore He deserves our lives poured out in worship, every moment of every day on every way we can! !

[09/13/15]   Sisters remember who your God is! Know that He is Almighty. Often times we can get bogged down with the cares of this world that we take our eyes off of God and keep them glued on our problems. Choose today to make your God bigger than your problems and believe God to do what seems impossible. He has an amazing track record. He wants to show you even in this hour that He is God and God alone. People may fail you but God never will. Dry your eyes and begin to praise and worship Him. Yes, you maybe tired and weary but don't give up. Keep holding on to the promise. God can't lie and He desires to manifest His glory in your life, all he needs is for you to have FAITH and believe without a shadow of doubt!

[08/27/15]   I think of the life of Jesus. I wonder if He ever doubted Himself? I mean "THE SON OF GOD" is pretty big shoes to fill. A huge role to live up to. Did He ever think He couldn't do something? Did He ever wonder if God, the Father, had His back? I don't know....they're just random thoughts! I often hear people rebuke the darkness and other evil and although I'm not knocking it, I would imagine that Jesus, being Who He is, didn't have much trouble with it. All He had to do was show up and, yes, at times, speak to it.

You see, I imagine Jesus, the Light of the World, not having to say much to the devil but just BE Who He was,IS!! And THAT in itself takes care of the darkness. John 1 says in verse 5 that "the Light shines in the darkness", another translation says "shines out of the darkness". In either case, the LIGHT is greater than and dispels the darkness. One translation says "the darkness has not overcome it" and another, "the darkness could not extinguish it". Anyway you say it, the Light doesn't have to "SAY" anything at all, really, it just has to BE.

The same is true for you and me. Jesus appointed us, His followers, as the light of the world in Matt. 5:14. We cannot be hidden; in the next verse, and can never be extinguished. Why do we worry about darkness, or even give our energies to it as to be afraid or concerned? Yes, we are concerned for people IN darkness, but Jesus never modeled fear OF the darkness. He just walked in the room!!!! And darkness fled. I believe that He believed, certainly, Who HE was and that His Father was with Him.

I'm just ready to take a cue from Jesus, and walk in the same about you?

[08/23/15]   Have you taken time out for you today? Too often as women we try to be superwoman to everyone else and neglect ourselves. Remember that you are your first priority before anyone else. You can't serve others while you are on empty. Take the necessary time to fill yourselves back up. Self care is a must. Christ himself served people but he also spent time alone with His Father as a way to focus on himself and to re-energize. No, you aren't selfish for putting yourself first because if you don't take time out for you then who will. Self care is the best care!

[08/20/15]   Today while in corporate prayer, I noticed how I just began praying and I'm quoting scripture and thanking Jesus and I'm not even "present" in the moment. It's like my "by rote" mode turns on and I haven't even connected with the Lord. Has anyone else ever experienced that? In a moment I was arrested by the Spirit of God, in His most gentle way and introduced, if you will. It's like He was saying, "forget your list, I know you have an agenda, but let's get acquainted and connect heart to heart, spirit to spirit." I began to cry because it was so amazing to me how the Lord wants that; wants me. Wants to be intimate with me. He takes my face in His hands and looks me in the eyes and just kisses me....and introduces Himself, His heart, His will into the moment. Wow....and THAT changes everything. The moment. My heart. My prayers. My perspective. THAT is a place where worship can thrive and come alive. In that place of being "present" with Him. Happy Wednesday Sisters!!! :)

One of the greatest expressions of worship is in our trust when all hell is breaking loose or when we’ve experienced great disappointment. We don’t have to even speak or conjure up great prayers before God and most of the time in these situations we can’t. Our strength is gone, our hope waning and all we can do is weep and sit in silence.

This is our worship to God. This tells him, “I don’t understand, and I don’t know what to do, but my eyes are on you”. It communicates, “I need you God and You are my only hope.” This is worship from the deepest place. This is Jesus’ worship to the Father in the garden. Peter’s worship in tears and weeping when he denied Jesus. This is worship in spirit and truth. This is radical worship.

Just an FYI we are always taking prayer request via comments and messenger!!

mat.18.19-20.nlt “I also tell you this: If two of you agree here on earth concerning anything you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you. For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them.”

HOLD ON!!! God knows everything that's going on at this moment. He has a purpose and plan for every heartache, disappointment and trial in your life. Stay anchored to him and his glory will soon be revealed!!

#stayanchored #helpiscoming

Philippians .4.6-9.nlt Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.

Give it to God and go sleep

mat.11.28-30.nlt Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”

Father help us to cast all of our cares on you for your yoke is easy and your burden is light. Help us to trust completely in you because you are our healer our provider and we are your daughters, heirs to your kingdom and we know there is nothing good that you will with hold from us in Jesus name Amen.
