Manna Church Dream Center Microsite

A place where the population around the Dream Center can Love God, Love Each Other and Love the World.

Operating as usual

[09/18/19]   I need to apologize for not posting in quite awhile! Gracie keeps me very busy and with all the other irons in the fire I have neglected posting here.

We, like any other church, have seen God at work each and every week. When God has a divine appointment with you, it doesn’t matter where that happens, or when. We’ve invited some of our downtown friends walking by the DC and God does what only God can do! They get saved and decide they need Jesus!

To God be the glory! Since Ed and I were called to this ministry, we have witnessed God grab the hearts of well over 400 of our “family,” accept Christ as their Lord and Savior! Praise be to our Heavenly Father. It is awesome to be a part of a ministry who looks after the least of these. God’s Word says Faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. Without love we are nothing.
God tells us to feed the hungry, clothed the poor.
What we have done is make sure our friends have a tent, sleeping bag and tarp if they ask. We have had quite a few get jobs, and get a roof over there heads. If work clothes or certain types of shoes or boots, hard hats...we want to set them up for success.
We have some want to go to long term rehab programs, and again, we want to set them up for success so if they need a bus ticket to better themselves, we will help them with that as well.
Abuse is NOT ok under any circumstances. We’ve had some come beaten to a bloody pulp. We’ve had trafficked victims come to us. We have to be sensitive to each one that God brings under our care.
Sadly, we have lost some of our family. Kendall, Joe and Harvey are all sitting at the feet of Jesus. Ed had the honor of eulogizing Brother Joe. I told Ed you have to present the free gift that Brother shared to everyone he met. Thirty one people accepted Christ at a funeral!! I’m telling you, God is at work everywhere! One of our ladies was hit by a car about 3 weeks ago and is still in a fight for her life. Please keep Angie in your prayers.
We are family at our church. Many haven’t had people treat them with dignity and respect in years. To give a hug, an ear to hear, a shoulder to cry on. God has been good and continues to work in our homeless ministry.
To see them take ownership in their church has also been fun to watch. We’ve had some be baptized in front of our Anderson Creek site and our members have been so welcoming with no judgement.
God has blessed with and amazing serve team. Many are faithfully there each and every week. All I can say is, God,in His goodness has allowed us to be a part of a people group that we are so blessed to be a part of!
Thank y’all for your continued prayers for the people outside FT Bragg that are experiencing homelessness.
One last thing that deserves recognition. Jim and Christy Stoots have been right along side Ed and I the whole time but one thing about our military end up getting orders to another place. We miss them terribly, and pray God gives them back to us!😘 God will use them at their new duty station as they are very well equipped to get involved in other parts of the world! We love and miss you Jim and Christy!♥️

[12/08/18]   Please keep our friends who experience homeless in your prayers. We are forecasted to get winter precipitation beginning this evening. Pray that those that can, will go to a shelter and those that can’t, will be able to stay warm and dry.
We’ve started to have children and even babies coming to our service. So far we’ve been able to take care of their needs as well. These sweet babies, now have roofs over their heads, thank you Jesus. Although they have a roof over their heads, many have nothing inside those walls. Pray God will provide for their basic needs.
Those of us that serve our friends would like to thank you for your prayers over the last could years. Our ministry would not be where it is at without you! We LOVE what we do but we just show up each week, GOD does the rest! All glory goes to Him!
The Christmas season is hard for so many folks but I can’t imagine walking in our friends shoes. Please pray that they will experience not only God’s love during this season but His peace that transcends all understanding as well!
From our “family” to yours, Merry CHRISTmas!

We finished up our ROC(Reach Out Celebration) week on Sunday night, and I’ve had a couple days to ponder on a few things. One of our sister’s was worried about making sure her money made it in to the ROC offering. I assured her it did, but couldn’t help thinking of the woman who used her last bit of expensive perfume on Jesus! Oh, the faith this beautiful sister has. She is confined to a wheelchair, has a minimal income but still wants to be a part of God’s multiplying for the Kingdom! If more men and women of faith had that much faith in the work that the Father is doing! Others emptied their pockets of change...may God bless each of them tenfold. ♥️♥️ Lives are being changed but more importantly ♥️ are being changed!

[10/29/18]   This past week one our “family” members was taken too soon. Many DO have family in and around the area, but due to a handful of reasons, there is a brokenness in the family that causes a loved one to be separated.
There is no judgement here, only grace and love. We don’t know the circumstances, but I can say this.... there is a hurting family who lost a loved one this week. All the should’ve, could’ve, would’ve won’t bring him back!
Please keep Daryl’s family and friends in your prayers!

[10/14/18]   Tonight one of our DC family members, needed to be transported to the hospital. Mary was resting comfortably when I left! Please keep her and all of our DC family in your prayers! Thank you!
To God be the glory, 7 lives decided to be Christ followers tonight! Thank you sweet Jesus!

[07/08/18]   Another God night at church tonight! Nine lives forever changed and to watch our friends lives change is nothing short of miraculous. With that being said, if you'd like to join God in His work come check us out on Saturdays at 4pm.

Chef Bryan’s on the grill tonight! Hamburgers and watermelon are always a hit!

I am baker

This would be a hit for our friends AND they would get some potassium in them!

The BEST Banana Cake! Hands down my favorite banana cake ever!

We passed out our first set of Bombas socks last week and I think they were a huge hit!! :)

Thank you, Bombas for the generous donation of socks for our 'downtown friends'. Boxes to the ceiling.

[05/18/18]   So last week we had 9 lives forever changed by making the decision to be Christ followers. We had Laressa come in after service to talk to our serve team about the challenges of mental illness among our homeless friends. Please continue to pray for our homeless ministry and that God continue to work in their lives.

[05/01/18]   This is why we do what we do! God continues to amaze me! One of our homeless family members, Trey gets it!
What an amazing God we serve!💕💕

[05/01/18]   Trey gets it! That's why we do what we do! God is multiplying at the Dream Center microsite!
What an awesome God we serve!!

Last night we had a packed house and helped Ed celebrate his birthday. There's no other group of people he wanted to share his day with!
We also found out one of our homeless guys who had gotten a job working construction, was killed in a car accident. We KNOW he is in a much better place and we'll get to see him again one day soon!

[04/04/18]   Sorry, I have slacked over the last few weeks!
We just hit our one year mark and over 200 have decided to follow Christ! We have had 7 baptized with more taking place this weekend. Some have gotten into housing, some have gained employment and some have decided to get some help to change the path they were on! God is good and His timing is ALWAYS perfect!

I apologize for not getting put on our page until today. Last week we were packed beyond capacity and 14 decided to become a part of our family of God. They now have the assurance of where they will eternity! Do you know?

Last night we had a group from Ft Bragg, HEARTS ON A MISSION, prepare and serve our meal for our homeless community
It was a true blessing to all of us. Thank you!

WE also had a Girl Scout out of Moore County come and join us in ministering to the least of these, just as Jesus said.

WE truly are blessed that God saw fit to put each of us at the right place, at the right time to love and minister to our homeless community.

Thanks to those who are faithful in serving alongside is us, whether be with your time, talents or treasure!

Another great night loving on our homeless! We had 72 folks and 5 made decisions to be Christ followers.
