How to Revitalize Your Marriage - All Pro Dad

allprodad.com It's too easy to let key relationships slide. Here's five tips on how to revitalize your marriage.

[03/16/17]   Dear Light Bearers,

Have you ever lost something important to you? Maybe it was your wedding ring, keys, phone, or glasses. What did you do? How long did you look? Where did you look? This Sunday, as we continue our study in the Gospel of Luke, we will be in chapter 15. We will be discussing the lost lamb and the lost coin. Why did Jesus bring these stories to the attention of the Pharisees? Please read Luke 15 for our study this Sunday Morning.

Thank you to all of you that brought refreshments to our "In Class Fellowship" last week. We will have a new sign up list for refreshments on Sunday. If you can bring something this week for the class, please let me know.

Ladies, do not forget about the Ladies Fellowship tomorrow night at 6:30 pm in the Fellowship Center.

Men, put Saturday, March 25, on your calendar for our Men's Prayer Breakfast.

Answer to Prayer: From Don Paschal
God has brought the rain. James 5:7. In His perfect timing, I have received a firm job offer from Ft. Bragg with a starting date of 03 APRIL 17. I look forward to this next chapter in my life and all that it holds. All glory to God as he directs my path.

Have a great rest of your week. See you on Sunday.

Jeff

[03/10/17]   This Sunday we will be having an in class fellowship. We just ask that everyone bring something little to share with everyone in the way of refreshments. During this time we usually have a "get to know you" game or some entertainment during class time while we fellowship and enjoy the refreshments that everyone brings. If you have an idea of something to do, please share it with me.

Have a great weekend. See you on Sunday.

Jeff

[02/23/17]   Dear Light Bearers,

Well, it sure feels like spring is here. I hope you have been able to get outside and enjoy some of this beautiful weather. I realize many of you are under the weather. We pray for your speedy return to full health.

This Sunday we will begin Luke 14. We will be discussing yet again Jesus' healing on the Sabbath day. We will also be looking at a lesson on humility. Please read Luke 14:1-24 for preparation for our study on Sunday.

The Baughans, Paschals, and Lindy have refreshments this Sunday.

Please be in prayer for Erin Kiser as she travels to Togo, West Africa on Friday to teach and train in a missionary hospital located in Mango.

[02/09/17]   Dear Light Bearers,

In Luke 13:18, Jesus asks the crowd, "What is the Kingdom of God like? And to what should I compare it?" We will be studying these two questions and the two parables after it this Sunday morning. Please read Luke 13:18-30 for preparation for our study together on Sunday.

REMINDER: There will be NO 8:30 am service this Sunday morning. We will have Sunday School at 9:30 am, and our 10:45 am service. There will be no evening service on Sunday Night.

The Derrys, Ralas, and Ochs have refreshments this week. Thank you to all who bring food on a regular basis. Thank you, Teresa, for keeping us organized in this critical part of our fellowship.

Have a great rest of your week. See you Sunday.

Jeff

[02/02/17]   Dear Light Bearers,

This Sunday we will be in Luke 13:10. We see in these passages that Jesus has healed on the Sabbath. Again, he is chastised by the church rulers of the day. He also discusses the "Kingdom of God" in these verses. Please read Luke 13:10-35 to prepare for our study on Sunday.

Aubuchon, Gruber, and Messex have refreshments this week. I have attached the schedule just in case you have misplaced your copy.

Have you gotten your tickets yet for Berean's 50th Anniversary? You will not want to miss this event. It is Saturday, February 11, at 5:30 pm in the BBA Gymnasium.

Have a great rest of your week. See you on Sunday.

Jeff

[11/26/16]   Dear Light Bearers,

I hope this email finds you doing well on this Saturday after Thanksgiving. I pray everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving. We have many things to be thankful for this year.

Tomorrow's morning services are as normal. We will be studying Luke 11:37-54. Please find time to read this passage before class tomorrow. It is so relevant to the world we live in today. No evening service tomorrow at Berean.

The Derrys, Ralas, and Woosleys have refreshments tomorrow. If you can help with refreshments next Sunday, December 4, please, let me know.

Ladies, don't forget about your "Shopping Trip" next Saturday, December 3. The bus will depart from the church at 8:00am. It will be a fun-filled day of shopping and fellowship.

Light Bearers' Christmas Party is on Friday, December 16. We will be having an ugly sweater contest and a gift exchange. (Please limit the gift per couple to under $10.00.)

Have a great Saturday. See you on Sunday.

Jeff

[10/09/16]   All morning services at Berean Baptist Academy have been canceled for tomorrow, October 9.

[07/28/16]   This week in Sunday School we have a special treat. Pastor Joey Kellett, our missionary to Thailand, will be leading our Bible study. We will be in Luke 9 starting with verse 18. The Kelletts will be leaving us soon, so take advantage of this Sunday morning to hear Joey speak.

The Paschals, Recods, and Derrys have refreshments on Sunday.

Our Backyard Barbecue this year is Sunday, August 21. The Haffords are opening their house again for our class to come over for this fun filled event. More detailed information to come. Save this date now for an afternoon of fun, food, and fellowship.

Thank you for being so faithful to church during the summer months. Teresa and I will miss seeing you all this Sunday. We are in Indiana visiting family. It is so exciting seeing our small group grow. We love you all.

Have a great rest of your week. Our prayers and thoughts will be with you on Sunday.

[07/21/16]   Wow, summer is going by so quickly. It is hard to believe July is almost over and August is right around the corner. Speaking of August, we will be having our 3rd Annual Backyard Barbecue on Sunday, August 21. (More details will follow.) On this day we will not have an evening church service at Berean. This gives the Sunday School Classes an opportunity to have a get together at someone's house. Please set aside this date on your calendar now. It will be a great time of food, fun, and fellowship.

This Sunday morning we will be in Luke 9:10-17, the feeding of the 5,000. Please read over this passage before Sunday. I realize it is a very familiar passage in the Bible, however, let God's word speak to you again. Come ready to discuss this amazing miracle of Jesus.

Griffins and Howards have refreshments this week. I have attached the new refreshment list for your convenience. We have several spots still available. If you can help on a particular date with refreshments, please let me know as soon as possible. Thanks for your help in this important part of our Sunday School class.

Light Bearers, we have had several visitors attend our class this summer. Thank you for making them feel at home. I believe we have the best small group in the church, and it is because of the people in the group. Please be mindful of reaching out and meeting new people in our small group. Get to know people. This is what makes our small groups so important here at Berean. Case in point: I met a couple that sat behind us this past Sunday morning in church. They have been attending Berean on Sunday morning pretty faithfully for TWO YEARS!!! This was the first time I met them. I invited them to our class and hopefully, they will be with us on Sunday. It is very hard to really get to know people in the church. Small groups make this a little easier. I appreciate each and every one of you.

Don't forget the Backyard Barbecue on Sunday, August 21. More details are coming.

Have a great rest of your week. See you on Sunday.

[05/26/16]   We will be in Luke 7 this week in Sunday School. We will be studying the healing of the Centurion's servant. Please read Luke 7:1-10 before Sunday. Also, for a deeper study, read Matthew 8:5-13. You can also listen to Pastor Bill on this passage here. It is amazing what great Bible teachers we have amongst us here at Berean. It is something how we take things, or people, for granted until it, or they, are taken away.

The Haffords and Kisers have refreshments this week. I have attached an updated refreshment list for your convenience. Thank you to all of you who help with this every week.

Sunday, June 19, eight of us will depart from Fayetteville Airport bound for West Africa. We will be ministering with our class missionaries Jeremy and Mattie Benbrooks. I have attached a copy of our general itinerary so you can begin now to pray for our trip. The following are things they are in need of or want:

Contact paper - we will be creating some review games and can use the contact paper to cover the game pieces
Vanilla powdered coffee creamer
Country Time Lemonade mixes
Baby Fruit/Veggie Squeeze snack packs - no sugar added
Hazelnut flavored coffee

I am trying to get them to tell me more things, but this is all I have for right now. We will have suitcases set aside for things for our missionaries. Let me know if you can purchase any of the things on the list. We have had several families that have already purchased things that were on the list. (The list is getting shorter.)

We will also be able to visit Hospital of Hope for a day. This is where Jordan Woosley has been ministering since February. It is about 2 hours north of where the Benbrooks are. (This is the nearest hospital.) The nurses there are in need of water-resistant watches with second hands. It is so humid there and in combination with no air conditioning, it is impossible to use a normal watch with a second hand to check vitals. There are 20 nurses there, most of them are Togolese nurses. We can purchase these watches at WalMart for $20.00 each. It would be awesome to take each nurse that works in that hospital a watch from our class. We have about 30 families represented in our class. It would be great to get 20 families to buy one watch for one nurse.

Saturday, June 4, 4pm is our "Kookout at the Kisers". Bring the kids, the pool will be open!!!!

Saturday, June 18 is the Joey K Golf Tournament. $500.00 will allow us as a class to sponsor a hole for this tournament. If you can contribute to this, let me know. All proceeds go towards Joey and Candice's Missions effort to Thailand.

Prayer Requests:
Gail Fulsom-Lexi recovering from surgery
John Mosley-Uncle Don cancer in his bones
Renee Mitchell's surgery on 6/1
Calista Smith's Aunt was released from ICU. Her mother has passed away, and she is just know being told. Pray as she grieves.
Ryan Aubuchon's Father-In-Law has tumors, Uncle battling cancer going through treatments.
Praise-Pam Recod cleared by her doctor
Crystal Cory's cousin Cecelia had 2 toes amputated because of diabetes

I pray for you daily. Have a great rest of your week. See you on Sunday.

[05/12/16]   Thank you, Pastor Joey, for leading our study this past week. It is always good to have Joey and Candice with us when they can. Be praying for them as they head down to Georgia this weekend to speak at a church in Augusta.

This Sunday we will be in Luke 6 looking at verses 27-49. Please read these verses before Sunday morning. They are very convicting verses because they really deal with everyday actions and relationships. How are we suppose to act and react? Is the "Golden Rule" Biblical? We will discuss this on Sunday.

The Howards and Paschals have refreshments this week. I have attached the new refreshment list for this summer. If you did not get a chance to sign up, please let me know what date works best for you. Thank you, Teresa, for organizing and printing our sign up lists every season.
