Constant criticism is not constructive at all. It is important to encourage your spouse.

Converge Couples

Some time ago I asked our readers to share the little things they do to show their husbands they love them. The following are the replies I received. Each one of us are different personalities and therefore we show our love in different ways.

You may not do everything written in this list, but take time to read it through. Never be content with a boring marriage. Get out of your rut. Think of new and exciting way to love your husband. Surprise him with something you’ve never done before. And do it today.

If I love my husband I will . . .

Love to serve him.

Love to cook his meals.

Love to have a wholesome meal prepared for him when he arrives home in the evening.

Love to make and serve him breakfast.

Love to make his lunch to take to work.

Love to think of ways to romance him.

Love him to come home to a clean and fresh smelling house.

Love to keep an orderly home for him.

Love to make sure he always has clean laundry.

Love to make him coffee.

Love to encourage him and affirm him.

Love to purchase special goodies for him that he loves.

Love to buy him his favorite dark chocolate.

Love to do extra nice things for him.

Love to smile at him.

Love to ravish him and satisfy him sexually.

Love to follow him even though I may not agree with him.

Love to praise him instead of criticize him.

Love to wake up and cuddle with him.

Love to greet him passionately when he comes home from work.

Love to run a bath for him.

Love to encourage and compliment him with my words.

Love to make him smile and laugh.

Love to tell him that he is the best.

Love to text him during the day to remind him how much I love and appreciate him.

Love to speak well of him to my friends and to praise him in front of others.

Love to be his BEST and closest friend.

Love to be his only confidante.

Love to pray for him and with him.

Love to respect him and his decisions.

Love to pay attention to him when he talks to me.

Love to look at him adoringly.

Love to help the children do special things for him.

Love to give him massages.

Love to softly tickle him.

Love to rub his back, shoulders, legs, and feet.

Love to be with him while he works.

Love to do what he asks me with a smile and cheerful attitude.

Love to listen to his dreams and ideas and support them.

Love to raise the children in the way that pleases him.

Love to take an interest in his passions.

Love to do everything I can to keep him healthy.

Love to kiss him when he comes near me during the day.

Love to blow him kisses.

Love to give him surprises.

Love to appreciate him for working hard so I can stay home with our children.

Love to hold hands with him at every opportunity.

Love to admire and adore him.

Love to be faithful to him until death or we meet the Lord face to face.

Don’t forget to do something special for your husband today.

Love from Nancy Campbell

We are Christian Center Family Church in Farmers Branch, and we have a new ministry for foster and adoptive families called Project Love.

We are reaching out to our community, looking for businesses and individuals who would like to partner with us by helping us provide clothes, shoes, socks, undergarments, toiletries, toys, bibles, books, puzzles, cribs, diapers, formula, strollers, and all types of gear related to kiddos ranging in sizes from Preemie through Adult that are trending and appropriate for teens. These items can be brand new or things that your little ones have outgrown that are still in *excellent* condition.

When a child is placed into foster care they generally arrive with only the clothes on their back. So we invite the foster parents to come “shop” with us to get whatever the child needs, and everything is FREE! They can continue to shop with us for that child until they’re reunified with their biological parents or adopted. If the foster parents adopt, they are welcome to continue shopping with us for as long as our program is needed.

We have served over 200 children since opening our doors on November 30th! Your donations are greatly appreciated in their new homes!

If you are interested in donating to this endeavor, please message me to arrange a pick-up or drop-off time.

Thank You In Advance,
Sherry Burchett

[11/29/17]   MARRIAGE SECRET
(From Above Rubies)

I read about a wife whose husband was unkind to her and didn’t want to spent time with her, choosing to spend all his evenings in other company. She went to a counselor. He didn’t spend hours counseling her, but instead gave her one simple message: “Always treat your husband with a smile.”

She began to put it into practice. A few months later she returned to the counselor to say that her husband no longer sought other company, but longed to be with her and treated her with constant love and kindness.

This secret works wonders for a problematic marriage, but also improves a good marriage. Try it.

What about your children? Do they get more frowns than smiles from you? 2 Corinthians 3:18 tells us that we grow into the likeness of Jesus the more we behold Him. It says: "But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord."

In the same way, your children become like the image they see on your face? Do they see a grumpy face? They'll be grumpy? Do they constantly look at a smiling and happy face? You'll have happy children.

“But I don’t feel like smiling,” you reply. Don't live by your feelings. That's such a miserable way to live. Smile when you don't feel like smiling. Soon you'll be smiling because you feel like it and everyone in your home will be smiling, too

Have a wonderful smiling day, Nancy Campbell

[09/29/17]   "BEFORE I WAS MOMMY, I WAS HIS"

Ladies, there will come a day when your husband walks in the door and you do not turn around. You will be preoccupied with filling up sippy cups and wiping booties. You will shout over the running bath water, “Hey! Glad you’re home.” But it wont mean what it used to mean. It wont be full of eager anticipation to spend time together. It will be full of expectation that he will aid in meeting the demands of the family. “Glad you’re home” will more properly translate as “Thank God for two extra hands to help me” and “Praise the Lord I might get five minutes alone now.”

Ladies, there will come a day when you spend every last ounce of yourselves on your children. The demands of life and the babies will come before everything else. What little of yourself you have left at the end of the day will be used to crawl into bed before someone wakes up… and needs you again. The thought of doing anything else after the children are asleep will sound impossible, and your handsome husband’s happy smile had better mean he is willing to get up with the baby and nothing more. The husband that once completed your heart will be just one more person who needs you. The charming things that you fell for will go unnoticed. The daily grind will become expected.

Men, there will come a time when that beautiful bride sitting next to you hasn’t showered in days. She will be at her wits end, wearing other people’s food and p**p on her clothing. She will need to hear that she is beautiful, but she won’t listen to you. She will need to know that she is still lovable, but she won’t want you near her. When you arrive home after meeting the demands of work, you will be expected to meet the demands of your family. Your wife will hear none of your exhaustion, and you will see none of hers.

Men, you will call home to ask a quick question and anticipate a two-minute conversation. Half of it will be spent listening to your wife talk to your kids. As a matter of fact, you will make it no more than a few sentences into any conversation ever before your wife blurts out directions to your children: “Don’t climb that!” or “Don’t sit on your sister!” You will become accustomed to these outbursts, and you will forget that there was ever a time when you had her full attention.

But, ladies, when Mommy becomes your name, remember this man. Remember that you are his wife. Remember how much you love and appreciate him in this moment. Remember his dedication to your family. Remember his love and devotion to you. And then, when the days are long and you need a break, fall into his arms.

Men, remember your bride. The care and love that she has given you will soon be poured into your children. Her love for you will not change. Give her the grace to be enough even when she doesn’t feel like it. Remember when your days are long, hers are too. Remember her. Fall in love with her again.

Remember each other. Remember the two that made the family. Let the Lord lead you both together. Because when the days are endless and the hours short, it will be only His love that keeps you together. It will only be His mercy that gently guides your hearts as one. Hold tightly to one another, and even more tightly to the Lord. There is no greater adventure for you to experience and no greater gift than to walk through parenthood with your best friend. You are a team. Every single day."
