Dearly beloved! "Our hearts continue to be heavy for our brethren and the people in Texas as they begin to deal with the devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey—and the flood waters are still rising in many areas," said Pastor Thomspon Aderemi, Regional Overseer Deeper Life Bible Church, South West Region USA. The hurricane made landfall on August 25 as a Category 4 storm with sustained winds of 130 mph. The tropical storm, Harvey remains a powerful catastrophic storm that could bring up to 50 inches of rain to South Eastern Texas over the next several days. Widespread damages and multiple fatalities already are being reported by the news and by our Pastors in Houston. Catastrophic flooding continues to ravage much of Texas submerging it under water, with significant rain forecast. Please pray for safety and divine intervention at this critical time. As a church, we are soliciting for moral support and financial donation for our brethren in the path of this devastating storm in Texas. Many are still stranded all over South Eastern Texas. Help spread the word! Please remember to call and check on brethren in the affected cities especially in Houston and prepare to support in all ways possible. please visit to make your donations and also share with other brethren in other states in the USA that could also support so that we can quickly arrange to dispatch team and support to our brethren in Houston and other cities that are affected by this disasters. *TEXT:* AMOS 7:7-17.

*You are strongly advised to read the text first*

_*🔑KEY VERSE* "Then answered Amos, and said to Amaziah, I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet's son; but I was an herdman, and a gatherer of sycomore fruit: and the LORD took me as I followed the flock, and the LORD said unto me, Go, prophesy unto my people Israel" (AMOS 7:14,15)._

Faithfulness and fearlessness are two sides of the same coin. A faithful Christian will be fearless. Prophet Amos exhibited the undeniable attribute of a faithful prophet by promptly warning the nation of God's anger after he received three visions.

Our reading outlines the third vision that Amos received from the Lord. He saw Him standing on the wall with a plumbline (signifying measurement and judgement). After showing him the vision, God told him, "Behold, I will set a plumbline in the midst of my people Israel: I will not again pass by them anymore: And the high places of Isaac shall be desolate, and the sanctuaries of Israel shall be laid waste; and I will rise against the house of Jeroboam with the sword" (Amos 7:8,9)

The fiery message offended Amaziah, the priest of Bethel. He therefore falsely accused Amos of conspiracy against the nation and for predicting the death of King Jeroboam. He counselled Amos to "flee" to Judah and prophesy there but never again in Samaria. Amos rebuffed his counsel and stood his ground with courage. He told him that he did not become a prophet on his own. God called him to be a prophet and he had chosen to obey Him. He reiterated his earlier prophecy that the land would go into captivity and Amaziah's wife would go into harlotry while his sons and daughters were to fall by the sword.

Like Amos, believers must not shrink from telling sinners the truth of the word of God. He was faithful and fearless in dealing with people who cared less for righteousness. Today, God also expects His children to be faithful and fearless in proclaiming the truth of the Kingdom.

*✍THOUGHT FOR THE DAY* When you fear God, nothing else will make you afraid.

No better time to examine the prophesy of the scriptures

1. Amos was called to prophesy at the last days of Israel before deportation.
*What was the message?* Judgement and repentance.
Any preacher/soul winner who emphasizes any message different from judgement and repentance to sinners in these last days cannot claim to be faithful. Only true believers need message of encouragement and comfort in the last days vv7,8, I Thes. 4:18.
2. The greatest opposition to Amos' divinely given message was from the priest of the *idol* of Bethel in prophetic regalia vv10-13.
"By their fruits you shall know them". Any priest, no matter his title, wealth, communication skills and ministry of miracles, that is not comfortable with or emphasizing the message of repentance and divine judgement on sin must be a "priest of Bethel". Avoid them if you want to make heaven 2 John 10,11.
3. The best way a righteous man can avoid opposition is to keep mute when evil is rampant in the land vv14,15, Matthew 10:32,33. Expect opposition if you want to please God.
4. There are heavy judgements on those who deny, deride, despise, destroy, deemphasize, damn, dampen, dare, dirty or downplay any truth of the written word of God. Carefully read vv16,17. Divine judgements vary but always severe. Repent before His judgement comes.
5. Therefore say, sing, search, seek, share, support and sacrifice for the truth in these last days and God will be glorified.
*God* I hereby resolve to always speak the truth of the word of God without compromise or fear🙏
*Lord*, raise up more faithful preachers in this nation who will fear none but God alone🙏
*Pray* for full restoration of ministers in this nation that have lost their calling of bringing sinners to repentance and distracted to mundane things of this world🙏
*Lord*, let the true word of God grow and prevail in this nation like in the early church🙏

*HYMN* Count me

1. When you count the ones who love the Lord,
Count me, count me;
When you count up those who trust His Word,
Count me, count me.
Count me with the children of the heav’nly King;
Count me with the servants who would service bring;
Count me with the ransomed who His praises sing;
Count me, count me.
2 When you count up those who’re saved by grace,
Count me, count me;
Who have found in Christ a hiding place,
Count me, count me. [Chorus]
3 When you count up those who do the right,
Count me, count me;
Who are walking in the Gospel light,
Count me, count me. [Chorus]
4 When you count up those who forward press,
Count me, count me;
Who shall gain the crown of righteousness,
Count me, count me. [Chorus]

*FRIDAY, APRIL 3 2020*

*TEXT:* JOSHUA 15:13-20.

_*You are strongly advised to read the text first*_

_*🔑KEY VERSE* "Who answered, Give me a blessing; for thou hast given me a south land; give me also springs of water. And he gave her the upper springs, and the nether springs" (JOSHUA 15:19)._

"Oliver Twist" is a novel by Charles Dickens about a poor boy who goes by the same name. The most famous saying in the book took place in the workhouse where Oliver did the unthinkable by holding out his bowl, asking for more food. The gesture brought out the worst in his managers who punished him for daring to ask. But unlike in the workhouse of Charles Dickens where asking for more is an offence, in the family of God, asking for more is a right!

In today's passage, Caleb demanded Hebron from Joshua as his inheritance and he got it. In pursuit of possessing the city occupied by the giants, Caleb drove away three of the sons of Anak. After conquering Hebron, he moved to Debir (Kirjathsephar). As a motivation for his troops, he pledged to give his daughter, Achsah, out in marriage to whoever would lead the attack and conquer the city. Othniel accepted the challenge and succeeded. After the marriage, Achsah requested for a field from her father in addition to what they had been given. Without hesitation, her demand was granted.

Jesus told the early Christians bluntly, "Ye have not, because ye ask not" (James 4:2). Making requests from God in prayer is not an offence. He delights in meeting the needs of His children. His resources are limitless and He desires to give more if we ask Him in faith.

You must develop the Oliver Twist attitude today and ask God for more. What do you want Him to give you? Do you need salvation, sanctification, Holy Ghost baptism, spiritual gifts, financial blessings, children or marriage partner? Remember, ask and you shall be given. So ask Him now that your joy may be full!

*✍THOUGHT FOR THE DAY* The more you ask, the more you get.

You must fight to possess your inheritance

1. Israel was able to reach this stage of sharing inheritance through warfare. The promise/covenant of God to give the land to the seed of Abraham was not enough. She must fight!
2. The inheritance given to Caleb was by promise and also free. But he must fight to dislodge those saying NO v14. The world will always say NO to what God plans for you. You must fight the good fight of faith!
3. Even though Caleb was comfortable with an inheritance after defeating the adversaries, he was still not satisfied. He decided to seek for partnership in order to receive the remaining inheritance through a hard fight vv16,17. Never be satisfied with half inheritance. The full is only good for you. Fight!
4. Acksah was given a field by Caleb her father v18. What is a field without water? She was not satisfied until she was settled with springs of water v19. Your life is not abundant because you are satisfied. You don't want to fight and get abundance. Fight! Get all that God has for you. They are written in the Bible and painted in your mind if you open your heart to God.
5. Each believer in Christ has an inheritance purchased by the blood of Jesus. It is free.
6. However, you must fight and "fight the good fight of faith" with spiritual violence, if need be, in order to turn the inheritance from mere written document to reality.
7. Do you also realize that even in the physical, the world would not like to release your lawful inheritance to you on a platter of gold. "The kingdom of God suffers violence and the violent take it by force" came directly from the lips of Jesus.
*Seek the face of God* and study the Bible to know the general and personal inheritance God has for you. Open my eyes God to know what you have for me in this only one life of mine🙏
*Lord*, I hereby renounce every form of laziness and timidity. Give me a fighting and courageous spirit that will not be satisfied until I get all that God has for me🙏
*God of battles*, I pray today that every form of oppositions to being the best I can be from anybody and any power be demolished now🙏Pray it again with more fire🙏🙏
*Lord*, pass through the Church and destroy all enemies of blessings against every member🙏

*HYMN* Onward christian soldiers

1 Onward! Christian soldiers, marching as to war,
looking up to Jesus who has gone before:
Christ, the royal Master, leads against the foe;
forward into battle, see, his banners go!
Onward! ...
2 At the name of Jesus Satan's legions flee;
on then, Christian soldiers, on to victory!
Hell's foundations tremble at the shout of praise:
Christians, lift your voices loud your anthems raise!
Onward! ...
3 Crowns and thrones may perish, kingdoms rise and fall,
but the church of Jesus triumphs over all.
Gates of hell can never 'gainst that church prevail;
we have Christ's own promise and that cannot fail:
Onward! ...
4 Onward then, you people! March in faith, be strong!
Blend with ours your voices in the triumph song:
'Glory, praise and honour be to Christ the king!
this through countless ages we with angels sing:
Onward! ...

[04/02/20]   *DAILY MANNA*

*TEXT:* AMOS 7:1-6.
_*🔑KEY VERSE* "Then said I, O Lord GOD, cease, I beseech thee: by whom shall Jacob arise? for he is small" (AMOS 7:5)._

Charles Spurgeon said, "The biblical account of intercessors in both Old and New Testaments is a proof that intercessors are needed constantly from generation to generation to intercept God's impending judgement because of daily increase of sin and iniquity. The intercessors easily forget their personal needs but consider the will, way and word of God to prevail over every wickedness in the land that may prompt the wrath of God. The intercessors are to stand between God and the people, appeasing God on behalf of the people and the land."

Our text reveals Prophet Amos' message to Israel about two impending disasters the Lord had shown him. A band of grasshoppers would invade Israel, "eating the grass of the land" which means famine. The second disaster was a judgement of fire (Amos 7:4). The two visions provoked the prophet to plead twice with the Lord to forgive and seize from the continuous destruction of the land.

True disciples of Jesus are never unconcerned about the situation around them. At the root of human calamities is sin and the forgiveness of God is required for people to be free from plagues and disasters. Amos played his part through intercession and heaven responded immediately because God has no pleasure in the death of sinners.

We have a major role to play today in a world that is derailing from God's purpose, plan and programme. The internet has brought immorality closer to every human being than ever before. No doubt, serious intercessors are urgently needed to stop God's wrath. As you go about your business today, do the world a favour and pray for the mercy of God on the land.

*✍THOUGHT FOR THE DAY* God needs you to fill the gap.

Wanted! Selfless intercessors

1. What do you see?🤔 Amos was close enough to God that God shares visions of impending doom with him vv1,4.
*Lord*, draw me closer to the level of sharing issues that need intercession with me🙏
2. How does God rate you? 🤔God rated Amos as a confidant that He could share His mind with? vv1,4.
*God*, help me to sincerely deal with any habit or thought that puts you off from making me your confidant🙏
3. Does God recognise your voice? 🤔When Amos prayed, heaven caught it immediately vv2,3,5,6.
*Lord*, give me more zeal in developing my spiritual and faith so that my prayers will always receive undeniable attention🙏
4. How weighty is your plea before God?🤔Amos just made brief public prayers and God rescinded His planned heavy judgements vv3,6.
*Lord*, strengthen and add fire, faith and fervency to my private prayer life🙏
5. How concerned and selfless are you?🤔Amos was deeply concerned and burdened by the proclamation of judgements above his personal needs, and prayed for the nation with a burdened heart v2,5.
*Lord*, plague my heart with burden and love for others🙏
5. God seeks for a faithful man who is giving to intercession (praying for others). It is the most rewarding, influential and often neglected ministry God can ever give any mortal. You should volunteer to be one Ezekiel 22:30🙏
*Intercede* for your nation that Jesus will take over and rule over the affairs of your nation🙏

*HYMN* Sweet hour of prayer

1. Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
That calls me from a world of care,
And bids me at my Father’s throne
Make all my wants and wishes known.
In seasons of distress and grief,
My soul has often found relief,
And oft escaped the tempter’s snare,
By thy return, sweet hour of prayer!

2. Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
The joys I feel, the bliss I share,
Of those whose anxious spirits burn
With strong desires for thy return!
With such I hasten to the place
Where God my Savior shows His face,
And gladly take my station there,
And wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!

3. Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
Thy wings shall my petition bear
To Him whose truth and faithfulness
Engage the waiting soul to bless.
And since He bids me seek His face,
Believe His Word and trust His grace,
I’ll cast on Him my every care,
And wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!

4. Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
May I thy consolation share,
Till, from Mount Pisgah’s lofty height,
I view my home and take my flight.
This robe of flesh I’ll drop, and rise
To seize the everlasting prize,
And shout, while passing through the air,
“Farewell, farewell, sweet hour of prayer!”

[04/01/20]   *DAILY MANNA*
*TUESDAY, MARCH 31 2020*

*TEXT:* JUDGES 6:33-40.
_*🔑KEY VERSE* "And Gideon said unto God, If thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said, Behold, I will put a fleece of wool in the floor; and if the dew be on the fleece only, and it he dry upon all the earth beside, then shall I know that thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said" (JUDGES 6:36,37)._

Kenneth E. Hagin said, "Doubt is from the devil. You have to resist doubts and rebuke them. You have to get your mind on the answer - on God's word. In order to receive answers to your prayers, you must eradicate every image, suggestion, vision, dream, impression, feeling and all thoughts that do not contribute to your faith and that do not affirm that you have what you have asked God..." As God's children, we have the duty to trust Him and believe His word. Any other alternative is dangerous for our survival.

In our passage today, the children of Israel were faced with a great challenge from the Midianites. God had sent His angel to Gideon to prepare him for the leadership of the nation in this critical time but the man was beating about the bush. The angel of God kept reassuring him and working on his weak will. Eventually, he felt he could push back at God. He thought of the fleece option as a means to excuse himself from the task.

God obliged him his request to make the land wet but the fleece dry and vice versa. He went all out to encourage Gideon because He knew he was afraid of doing the right thing.

Many people today are like Gideon. They are afraid of doing the perfect will of God for a myriad of reasons. His excuse was his humble birth and the might of the Midianites. What is yours? Believers are called out from this sinful, polluted and evil world into a life of prompt obedience to God in living right and preaching the gospel. No excuse is tenable before the Lord for failure to heed His call. And just like He did to get Gideon going, He will help and give you all that you need to walk in obedience to His will today. He has promised that He will never leave nor forsake you as you walk in the path of obedience.

*✍THOUGHT FOR THE DAY* Faith is stronger than fear.

Some decisions that need more confirmations from God before taking steps.

1. God Himself appeared to Gideon in the form of an angel and Gideon eventually discovered it was God vv11,12, 22,23.
2. He was directly commissioned by God to fight the Midianites v14.
3. He asked for a sign and he was given vv17,21.
4. He demonstrated *obedience of faith* by destroying Baal in line with God's command vv25,27.
5. He also took *actions of faith* by calling and gathering Israel to battle vv33-39.
6. No wonder he was listed among the heroes of faith in Hebrews 11:32.
7. His asking for confirmation is not conditional for his obedience. He was really battle ready.
8. In the NT, true children of God have better ways of confirming divine guidance rather than asking for signs.
9. When major steps are to be taken after knowing the will of God, we should be willing to seek more confirmations because anybody can be misled by different voices I John 4:4, I Corinthians 14:29.
*Q* What are those major decisions that need further confirmations from God?
*Lord* teach me to always wait on You for guidance🙏
*Lord* sharpen my sensitivity to the voice of the Spirit🙏
*Lord*, let me never be a prey of deceptive and strange spirits🙏
*Lord*, let your voice and guidance be more real to your children than ever before in times like these🙏.

*HYMN* Guide me O great Jehovah

1. Guide me, O my great Redeemer,
pilgrim through this barren land;
I am weak, but you are mighty;
hold me with your powerful hand.
Bread of heaven, bread of heaven,
feed me now and evermore,
feed me now and evermore.
2 Open now the crystal fountain,
where the healing waters flow.
Let the fire and cloudy pillar
lead me all my journey through.
Strong Deliverer, strong Deliverer,
ever be my strength and shield,
ever be my strength and shield.
3 When I tread the verge of Jordan,
bid my anxious fears subside.
Death of death, and hell's Destruction,
land me safe on Canaan's side.
Songs of praises, songs of praises
I will ever sing to you,
I will ever sing to you.
