Our center is dedicated to connecting those in need with available services that may be able to assist them. Our registry of resources includes information on organizations that provide direct services for food pantries, shelters, domestic abuse, mental abuse, substance abuse, financial aid, and more within both Charlotte and Sarasota counties. In addition our in-house food pantry, clothing closet, cold weather shelter, and other programs provide help to those in need within our local community of Englewood, FL.
Food Pantry The Food Pantry is open Mon. – Fri. from 10a.m. – 12p.m. and Tues. evenings from 5 – 7p.m. Photo ID or a copy of your FPL or water bill showing a current Englewood address is required as proof of Englewood residency to receive food. Each family will receive a box of food based on the number of members in their household and if the family has children. Also available are hygiene products, paper goods, and toiletries. Bread and pastries donated by Publix are given out daily to those in need. We are blessed by the generous donations of local organizations, churches, and individuals who help to keep our shelves full. Free Clothing Closet The Jubilee Center offers free clothing to the families using our Food Pantry. Clothes may be obtained upon request when picking up food. The closet is also open on the first Sat. of each month from 10a.m. – 12p.m. Cold Night Shelter When temperatures drop to 40 degrees or below, the Jubilee Center is open to the homeless and those without heat in the Englewood area. Space is limited, however those seeking shelter from the Venice or Northport area may be accepted as room allows. Our center is a drug and alcohol free center. We provide a safe, warm place to sleep, a hot dinner, and breakfast in the morning. Clothing, care kits, and extra blankets are available as needed. The shelter opens at 6p.m. and guests are asked to leave the following morning by 7:30a.m. Fellowship and constant supervision is provided. Just Neighbors Just neighbors is an ecumenical ministry comprised of representatives from organizations, churches, and individuals that work together to bring awareness of the problems for the low income families and homeless in our community. The goal is to network and share resources that may assist us in making a difference in the lives of those seeking help. The meetings are on the last Tuesday of each month at 6p.m. in the St. David’s church hall. Everyone is invited to these informative meetings. Back Pack Ministry The Back Pack Program provides nutritious weekend meals for low-income families and homeless who attend Englewood Elementary School. Kid friendly nutritious food is purchased from All Faiths Food Bank and delivered every two weeks to the Jubilee Center where it is sorted, packed, and delivered to the school for distribution. This program is made possible through donations from groups and individuals who give to sponsor a child for one school year.
Mission: The mission of Jubilee Ministry is to make a direct and dynamic link between our theology and our ethics. We must take care of the poor but we also must attack the root causes of that poverty. Charity and justice go hand in hand. Said another way: the talk of our faith and the walk of our faith.

[01/21/20] Just heard coldest nights tonight and tomorrow...please remind any camper our Clothes Closet is open today 10 until noon, we have some warm clothing, some blankets and sleeping bags all are FREE!

These 3 wonderful Clothes Closet volunteers, Cinta Basso, Marcy Jeraka and lnez Lombada, came in on a day the Closet was closed to reorganize and update the inventory. They sorted through 50+ bags of donations from the Community. A huge thank you for the wonderful donations and a special thank you to these fantastic ladies. We are so blessed!

Words cannot begin to express our sincere thanks to Edgewater Community! They have been such a continous blessing providing turkeys and food for our Thanksgiving boxes and hams for our Christmas boxes for our clients! Plus they provided 2 carloads of toys for our Christmas Shoppe for our families with children. The Jubilee Center at St. David's Episcopal Church is pleased to announce our partnership with Community Presbyterian Church in continuing our Back Pack Ministry. This ministry provides weekend kid friendly food, supplied by All Faiths Food Bank and supported by the Jubilee Center, to low-income children who attend Englewood Elementary School. Look how purty our garden is looking at Jubilee Center thanks to the hard work of the Lemon Bay Garden Club. It’s such a blessing to be greeted with such a happy sight. 🌼🌸🦋🐝🌻
On Thursday, Ann Landry, pictured here, volunteer at the Jubilee Center along with other volunteers at the Center, sorted and filled 3 boxes of toiletry items such as: toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap and shampoo. Ann delivered the boxes to Venice airport, home of Agape Flights, a nonprofit Christian aviation ministry that serves the nations of the Caribbean. The items will be flown to the Bahamas and distributed to survivors of Hurricane Dorian.

As a response for needed items for relief to survivors after the devastating effects from Hurricane Dorian on the islands of the Bahamas, the Jubilee Center, St. David's Episcopal Church provided 20 cots to the cause. Englewood Pioneer Day Board Members stopped by the Jubilee Center with food contributions from the Miss/Mister Englewood Pagent held on Saturday, August 17th. The event was hosted by Englewood United Methodist Church. Instead of an entrance fee, the community was asked to bring a canned good. What a blessing! Thank you so much for selecting the Jubilee Center to be the recipient of the food.🥰 The generosity of this community is so heartwarming!
