Our program tonight was about Meals on Wheels, founded by CPC 51 years ago! Today it is a separate non-profit organization, but it is still housed on our campus. Jim O’Harrow introduced our speaker, the Director of Meals on Wheels, and Carolyn Herbst, one of our volunteers, shared how rewarding it is to work with this ministry. In 2018, MOW prepared and delivered 43,000 meals!
As always, the kids had fun with their activities at the church dinner!
Great church dinner this evening! Hospitality, fellowship and friendship!
Thank you to Cluster 4 for preparing a ham dinner that was enjoyed by all!
Preview of tonight’s kids activity. The kids will make these cute flower pots that we will use as centerpieces for the May church dinner!
This Sunday, we will join with Presbyterian Churches across the country in collecting the One Great Hour of Sharing offering. This offering is used to share God’s love in tangible ways with people around the world all year long. Please prayerfully consider your gift.

Dr. Rodger Nishioka, former CTS Professor and now Board member, spoke to Preston Hollow as a part of a semi-annual speaker series. Here he describes "six things that are rising and worthy of our attention" in reaching the next generation.
Thank you to the CPC volunteers who helped with this project yesterday! Great job!

Homeless shelters closing. Sex-trafficking rises. Rich-poor gap increases. Racism is tolerated. Natural disasters leave a trail of grief. Senseless killings compound. Puerto Rico without power. Kenneka Jenkins found in a freezer. North Korea testing missiles. Injustice from political leadership. The list goes on and on. The Dilemma If you’re like me, you can get lost in the ocean of articles, social media updates, commentary, and all of the emotions that can stem from reading headlines in the times we live. CPC has a long history of supporting Suncoast Humane Society. This time of year brings particular needs.
Please consider volunteering... 💙🧡💚
"We are at the end of what us year rounders call “Season.” What this means to Suncoast Humane Society is that many of our regular volunteers will be leaving us for the summer. Humane Societies in SW Florida find themselves in a unique but not welcomed situation. As the number of volunteers decrease (almost 50%), the number of homeless animals coming into our shelters increase (again almost 50%). “In Season” means something entirely different to dogs and cats, especially in the spring and summer."

Have you practiced communion with creation as a spiritual discipline?
"John Calvin, one of the forefathers of the Reformed tradition, viewed nature as an important source of knowledge of God, awakening us to God’s presence in our daily lives and, thus, is worthy of our care."
Sharing this need from the Disaster Recovery Coordinator in Mission Presbytery, Texas...
Yesterday was spent getting food to the respite center in McAllen, TX to feed the 1000+ refugees that were dropped there, and trying to move hygiene kits and supplies, along with diapers, from Taft to McAllen.
The respite center in McAllen has/is running out of most things. Catholic Charities needs used clothes in good condition, hygiene supplies (everything you use they need except by the hundreds), diapers, all sizes, and wipes (think of how many you need per day, multiply that by 100 and plan to take a trip across the country by bus), and new underwear, including socks (we have all survived an extra day or two without changing for one reason or another, details are not important, but some of the refugees have not had clean underwear in weeks, how does that feel).
Please help spread the word. Everything can be shipped directly to Catholic Charities Respite Center 209 W. Hackberry, McAllen, Tx 78501

We are so thankful for such wonderful volunteers from Faith, Cape Coral, Covenant, Ft. Myers, and Buckingham Presbyterian churches along with our faithful friends from the Immokalee Soccer School and Academy! Such awesome teamwork and compassionate outreach made it possible to serve 525 people from the community! Together we served and distributed hot meals, groceries, children’s books, and men’s clothing inside, while outside there was music, games and crafts for those waiting in line. God works amazing things through those who serve others in his name! And once again, the face of God (Peniel) was brought to the mission by those from the community who shared in Friday afternoon’s ministry. Come and see; come and share in what God is doing each week at Misión Peniel!
Tomorrow we’ll talk about the Holy Habit of forgiveness.
