6/14/20 – Do Unto Others as You Would Have Them Do Unto You

Jesus said those words . . . no wait, he actually said, "In everything do to others as you would have them do to you; for this is the law and the prophets" (Mt. 7:12). That's a lofty vision, but then it was the Lord of lords who said it. Our Lord has provided our core; our starting point; the center of God's will for us. [ 110 more words ]

6/7/20 – A Victory of Courage

Sunday is graduation day. We will be celebrating this milestone in the lives of three of our young people. We will remember the importance of education in the family of God. God tells us to teach our children not only God's laws but also the stories of how God's children have walked by faith. We are part of that story. Sean Russell, DHS teacher and one of our elders, will share a testimony about the importance of education. [ 122 more words ]

5/31/20 – All Together Now

How attached are you to this community? Further, how aware and involved in Duncanville are its churches? Do you feel a personal sense of ownership? What about a sense of pride in your hometown? And if so, how do you engage in its economic, academic, civic, spiritual, or racial health? "There is no power for change greater than a community discovering what it cares about," says Margaret Wheatley. [ 128 more words ]

5/24/20 – Looking Problems Straight in the Face

Do you believe that you can overcome anything? You probably give an easy 'yes!' But ask someone in the midst of problems and it becomes not-so-easy. Nehemiah developed some principles for overcoming which are very helpful today. One of them was "looking problems straight in the face." We will talk about how he--and we--can do that very thing today, with our own circumstances. [ 73 more words ]

5/17/20 – Faith without Fear Gains Reward

Do you ever wonder how long it takes to get an answer to your prayer? Do you have an expectation that it will be answered? Does God have a timeline? Is there an expiration date? What can we bank on? Answers do not always come with regular, expected guarantees, it seems. Do this make you hesitate to risk prayer? In last week's Scripture, Nehemiah prayed "Give me success today." And the day passed. [ 81 more words ]

Last week we began a series called Rebuilding a City and Nation. It is the study of Nehemiah, an urban planner who joined a pastor to take on the revitalization of one of the oldest known cities. Most of its residents had been exiled 70 years before. While efforts to rebuild began a dozen years before, progress had been slow and the city was still in shambles. [ 127 more words ]

We have been talking about walking as disciples for several weeks. After the resurrection, an entire new world opened for the disciples. TGIF: A Good Friday Event

NINE Duncanville churches planned TGIF: A Good Friday Event to take place at Shine Performance Hall at Duncanville High School on Good Friday, April 10, at 7:00 p.m. Unfortunately, with the governmental orders regarding protection of our nation from the coronavirus, this event may no longer take place as planned. HOWEVER, never underestimate the power of God!

The nine churches and the Duncanville Community Chorus, have found a way to do the concert virtually! With the support of some devoted musicians and singers, Audio Engineer Joshua Bayless, Videographer Larry Nicks, and the enthusiastic cooperation of the pastors of the nine churches - we've created a virtual concert experience for you and for the entire world this Good Friday! We know that nothing can stop the Message of the Cross from going forward! What Christ did for all of us all those years ago is still relevant today.

Although we may not be gathering to have a worship experience as we have done in the past for TGIF - A Good Friday Event, we will still be able to have a VIRTUAL experience, thanks to technology and the efforts of the singers and volunteers in our community. PLEASE JOIN US. INVITE YOUR FRIENDS TO WATCH. You will receive more information before the event about how to link to it. We want you to share that link with everyone you can!

God is good, ALL THE TIME! In every time of trouble. No matter what, ALL THE TIME, GOD IS GOOD!
