What a beautiful endeavor from students at SMU including Holy Spirit youth group alumnus Marisa Nieto!

Hearing a talk about diversity in the Catholic Church inspired one student to find ways to highlight those groups underrepresented in her college community. With a little from her friends, Marisa Nieto’s inspiration evolved into something special: a project highlighting a group of Black saints and designating them as patrons for SMU Catholic Campus Ministry.

Sometimes the day slips away, and you recognize you haven't been with God in your heart at all. It is easy to beat yourself up, but we know who loves discouragement...and it isn't our Lord.

[05/07/21]   Church Floor Project: The actual renovation of our Church building floors will begin in early June. We will have our last Masses in the Sanctuary on Sunday May 30 and offer Masses in the gym from early June to mid-August. We plan to continue offering Live Stream Masses from the gym once we work out the technical issues. Please pray that both our floor project and Mass transition occur with the least amount of issues.

If you don't "feel" God in prayer, consider that the Lord is giving you an opportunity to grown in the habit of prayer. He has not abandoned you, and he always gives you grace sufficient to overcome whatever challenges come your way.

In today's Gospel for Divine Mercy Sunday, we hear of doubting Thomas and his failure to believe. Jesus challenges him (and us!) to believe and have faith, even without seeing or in the midst of difficult circumstances.

On Holy Saturday, we wait in silence for the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Much of the Church's iconography shows Jesus preaching the Good News to figures of the Old Testament and then opening the gates of heaven.

Today we reflect upon what Jesus truly endured for each one of us during his crucifixion. May we come to a fuller understanding of his love for us this Good Friday.

Today also marks the beginning of the traditional Divine Mercy Novena. You can find prayers and resources through this link: https://www.thedivinemercy.org/message/devotions/novena

On Holy Thursday, we recall Jesus' command to be servants of one another. Jesus spent some of his final moments before his arrest washing his disciples' feet, pouring himself out for them in service. By instituting the Eucharist, he gave them strength to fulfill that command.
