[08/27/19]   Sisters of Wesley UMW! September is on its way and Circle meetings resume and plans will be made for our fall and winter events. What did you do on your summer vacation?

Yesterday, Louise Andrews and Barbara Rafte joined other volunteers in assembling Days for Girls hygiene kits. We cut, measured, sewed, folded and ironed! What a great team! These kits will find their way to girls worldwide and will give them the opportunity to attend school no matter what time of the month it is...truly a kind of freedom! See daysforgirls.org for more information and contact us if you would like to help in some way.

Here we are saying farewell to one of our dearest and hardworking members, Marilyn Cleeton. May blessings travel with you to your new home!

[01/03/19]   This is the 150th anniversary of United Methodist Women. It all started in 1869 when only 6 members organized as the Methodist Woman's Foreign Missionary Society. Isabella Thoburn and Dr. Clara Swain were sent to India and began a school in Lucknow. Later expanding into a college, the first in Asia, the school stills serves girls there.

[07/20/18]   This week I was invited to a UMW meeting in nearby Maryland by a member of Wesley UMW. It was a peaceful ride over and when we turned the last corner her church came into view and took my breath away. A beautiful and historic country church - like something you would picture in the dictionary under "country church"! Inside were members of UMW preparing the room for dinner and a meeting; something that's done thousands of times each year and has been done for decades all over this country and the world.

Tune out the noise of daily living and breathe in the spirit of God that is present at these times. I give thanks for all of these women who work tirelessly for the Lord day in and day out.

Put our hands to work at the UMCOR Hub in Christiana this past Saturday. Janet Flower, Marilyn Cleeton, Barbara Rafte and grandson Hunter Rafte. Health kits that will be distributed where most needed.

I received this President's pin a couple of days ago; how precious is this? How many hands has this passed through? I love the history this portrays.
