The Redeemer's House Dallas

Dr Murchison S
I would first like to wish The Redeemer"s House Family a very Merry Christmas! and second I want to thank the Family for giving me honor of being able to walk with them in part of their journey this 2017. I pray that the sermons and words that God gave me to share with you did touch you in some way. You were a blessing to me in a time when I needed that blessing. Through you prayers and others I have been blessed to be appointed as the new Sr. Pastor at Northgate UMC starting January 1st. Redeemer's House know that I take you with me as I go forth to this new pasture and please keep those prayers coming for the leadership I'm to provide. Again thanks and many blessing to this House as we all look to what is in store for 2018. With all our love, Pastor and Lady Valerie (as you have lovely named her)

"Wisdom Is the Principle Thing"
Proverbs 4: 1 - 7

We know the author of this book Proverbs as Solomon. What is the first thing which comes to mind when King Solomon is spoken of? Not all of his riches, not all of his concubines, not even him being the son of King David, but the fact that Solomon was the wisest man who ever lived. I Kings 3: 3 - 13 tells the story of how King Solomon came to be the wisest man ever to live.

One may ask what then is wisdom? Knowledge deals with knowing facts, information, and skills acquired through experience and education. Wisdom comes back and says one has the ability to take education and experience and make good judgment in all circumstances.

Why would wisdom be declared the principle thing by King Solomon? Not faith, not knowledge, not integrity, not money, not looks, not physical strength...but wisdom. Why - because wisdom produces everything we pursue.

"If I Don't Trust God By Now, I'm Wasting My Time"
I John 2: 15 - 17

Believe it or not, the unbelieving world is far more critical and judgmental of Believers than even God is. How did you come to that conclusion? God knew what He put in us when He created us (humankind and individually). He did not create us perfect instead He granted us to be free will agents with the ability to choose - to choose to love or not to love; to choose to serve or not to serve; to choose to encourage or not to encourage; to bless or not to bless; to give or not to give; even to sin or not to sin.

The writer John warns us to not get taken up with the things of the world - why? - because one day this whole world system will pass away and when it leaves, the desires for it will pass away also and the lust thereof according to I John 2: 15 then he comes back and admonishes believers to remember that he that doeth the will of God abideth forever.

If I can't see the Word of God manifested in my life, I'm wasting my time. If I don't trust God by now, I'm wasting my time.

And that's the REAL truth.

"Lessons Learned from Commitment"
Jonah 1: 1 - 10

God uses whom He chooses. We bless God for this powerful Woman of God who encouraged us with the instruction of God.

Minister. Elder. Army Chaplain. Spoken Word Artist. Bank Branch Manager. Author. All rolled into one.

Why focus on the character Jonah, now? Because God says 'where I'm taking some of you, Everybody can't go.' There will always be a person God wants to use.

We are all well familiar with the story of Jonah and his initial attempt to do opposite of what God had commanded him to do. Spot someone who runs from commitment and you'll find someone who lacks character for Commitment develops Character. AMEN.

Romans 2: 4 - the goodness of God brings people to repentance. Not the spirit of bullying. The more we experience God, the more we'll want to follow Him.

Lessons learned from a lack of commitment:
1. We miss the privilege of partnering with God
2. Our choices damage more people than we realize
3. We become hardened and desensitized
4. We loose both integrity and trust

Manifestation of the promises of God comes about after we a) understand the person (self - awareness; why we do what we do) b) understand the problem and. c) understand the process.

[08/01/19]   Blessings and favor to all my Fb friends who reached out to me and my family during our time of bereavement.

"Fat On Faith"
James 2: 19 - 25

James encourages us to GROW in our faith. Being FAT on FAITH and doing nothing with it is as couch religiosity.

James warns us to not only hear this Word but do what it says.

Heat it
Don't walk away from it
Be intentional
Be purposeful

Say Amen somebody.

"What Is Your Response To Thus Saith the Lord?"
Judges 6: 1 - 16

When you know without a shadow of doubt you have heard from God, your faith is unwavering. No matter what the enemy brings into your camp, you are standing stedfast on what you've heard God promise.

In this story we see how God used Gideon, of the tribe of Manasseh, who self-declared himself to be the least of his father's house. God shows us He can use who we might decide is the least of us to carry out His perfect will. During a time when Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord, God never withdrew His promise to Abraham. Gideon's assignment was to save Israel from the hand of the Midianites.

The Lord God's promise to Gideon was "SURELY He would be with thee." As we get closer to the end of the church age, our assignment as Believers is to lead as many as possible into salvation. For Israel, it was a physical deliverance from the hand of Midian. Our deliverance is a spiritual deliverance from the hand of the enemy.

Application for us today is like Gideon-
- desire to believe God
- desire to obey God and
- desire to be led by God.

Blessings and favor.

"The Power of Blood" Part 1

Two pivotal places in early Old Testament history can be found in Genesis 12 where God appears to Abram and calls him out of an idolatrous people and makes a 3-part covenant promise to him. Pivotal place two can be found in Exodus 12 where we find the institution of the Passover.

When we understand that the first Man, Adam, by the simple act of disobedience against the instruction of God, plunged the whole human race into condemnation and that God did not leave us in this pitiful state, God begins to reveal His plan to make Man in right relationship with Him is revealed in Genesis 3:21. The bible says 'unto Adam and also to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed them.'

Just as God clothed Adam in Genesis 3 with spiritual clothing so that his sin (nature) would not keep him separated from God, God has the power to clothe every BELIEVER according to Isaiah 61:10 [he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation; he has covered me with the robe of righteousness] who by FAITH believes the gospel of I Corinthians 15.

Two absolutes of scripture: "without faith it is impossible to please God" - Hebrews 11:6 and "without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin" - Hebrews 9:22 serve as the premise of the power of blood.

You are very familiar with the plagues which God sent on Pharoah and Egypt. The final plague would be awful and dreadful causing the firstborn in the land of Egypt to die, both human and beast. But for the children of Israel in the land of Goshen (next to Egypt), specific instructions had been given. Herein lies the power of blood for every Israelite who by faith took God at His word. Israel had been instructed to select a lamb without blemish to prepare for sacrifice. Read Exodus 12: 1 - 13. vs 13 says 'and the blood shall be to you for a token unto the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you.' God deals with Israel as individuals and as a nation. Nationally, spiritual covering was provided to Israel by placing the blood of the sacrifice on the door posts and at the top of the door. This scripture is so crucial because it's hard for people to get the simplification of how easy God has made the plan of redemption - Man wants to add to it while God is saying I have simplified the plan. The power of blood throughout Old Testament is pointing to the death and shedding of the blood of Jesus on the cross and we cannot add anything to the completed work of the cross. Amen.

"Wait On the Lord"
Psalm 27: 14

Let me begin by asking if you make it a habit to journal? To journal your experiences, your emotions, your prayers as well as your prayers answered. Journaling captures the mindset of precise moments in our lives and can ultimately be used as a weapon against the enemy to prove we have history with God. God came fill in the blank.

David has journaled for us an account of a time in his life which gives us insight of the opposition he himself encountered with his enemies and foes. (vs 2.) What I like about this entire psalm is that David added vs 14 as a footnote to the journal entry he penned with a word of encouragement. Go through that which you have been ordained to go through but how you go through should be your FOCUS.

vs 14 - "Wait on the Lord: be of good courage and he will strengthen thine heart, wait, I say on the Lord."
1. It takes faith to wait on the Lord
2. It takes patience to wait on the Lord
3. It takes obedience to wait on the Lord
4. It takes courage to wait on the Lord

Once we become believers, these attributes are available to us. It's like walking into your closet and choosing from the couture' section and dressing yourself. Gucci, Christian Dior, Jimmy Choo, C. Louboutin, Louis Vitton - we all recognize them even if we don't own them. The problem with these attributes is that they do not come mature when we first put them on. We grow into spiritual maturity; we grow into faith; we grow into patience; we grow into obedience; we grow into courage. The enemy's assignment is to fight against our growing into these attributes of maturity.

I admonish you today as you grow into the person God has ordained you to be, please leave room (grace) for your brother and sister to grow into who God has so ordained them to be. We both already have a fight on our hands - the ENEMY.

"Need Help"
Luke 18: 35 - 43

Why does the church insist the infirmed be silenced in the presence of God? Passing by the homeless or in transition person on the street corner panhandling, the sign theur holding never seems to have Need Help misspelled.

The main character of this story is depicted as a blind man who sat by the way begging who had an encounter with Jesus. This was this blind man's kairos time. Kairos - an ancient Greek word meaning right, critical, or opportune moment. Although he could not see but he certainly understood there was a difference in the movement pattern of the feet of those who passed by. Such a difference prompted him to ask what it meant. They told him that Jesus of Nazareth passeth by.

Having heard about Jesus he cried out Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me. Now watch the response of the (church folk if you will). They which went before rebuked him that he should hold his peace. But he cried so much the more. (vs 39). This second cry was a major cry out of a routine cry. As a beggar, he routinely cried out Need Help.

Jesus' compassion for this certain blind was a mandate for the fulfilling of his divine purpose. Luke 4: 18, 19 "for the spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He hath anointed me to oreach the gispel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised; to preach the acceptable year of the Lord."

Too often we become content in our own hurt. This man refuses to be content and cries out the louder. This man's faith in Jesus to be a healer moved Jesus to a point of reaction to his cry.

We ask for the human possible and remove the space for God to move in the impossible. The scripture has left space for insertion of your name (a certain blind man). Whether you are experiencing physical blindness, emotional blindness, psychological blindness, financial blindness - take a tip from this beggar, cry out to Jesus and acknowledge Him as your Helper and He will respond likewise"receive thy sight, thy faith hath saved thee".

Join The Redeemer's House for Connecting the Dots Through Scripture beginning Wednesday, March 13th from 6:30pm - 7:30pm.

God bless you Rev. Sandra Minor for dropping a wet Word in the House.
