Cathedral of Hope has, once again, been honored by being named one of the beneficiaries of Black Tie Dinner, which has distributed more than $21 million to LGBT and Human Rights related charities since its inception.
This year up to 3,000 guests will experience this "premier event of empowerment, education and entertainment." The Saturday evening Dinner Program includes local and national figures, entertainment, recognition rewards, auctions and more.
Check out the various ways to get involved from hosting a table, purchasing a raffle ticket or being a volunteer at the event.

Moving between past and present, Alison relives her unique childhood playing at the family’s Bechdel Funeral Home, her growing understanding of her own sexuality, and the looming, unanswerable questions about her father’s hidden desires.

Trunk or Treat!!! (Wait, What or Treat???)
It has been our tradition at the Cathedral of Hope for many years to teach our children the Christian symbolism in the origins of Halloween, the evening before All Saint's Day. They know that trick-or-treating began in the middle ages as the poor children of villages were treated to "soul cakes" in their door-to-door visits to the nobility and wealthy.
In following that early custom, the Ministry for Children and Families will be celebrating our first Trunk or Treat event on the church parking lot the Saturday evening before All Hallows' Eve. The whole neighborhood will be invited.
We will also be joining together in a hot dog cookout potluck as everyone decorates their vehicle's trunk for a controlled trick-or-treat event. We're planning some outdoor games with lots of prizes, too. Everyone, children and adults as well, to come in their favorite seasonal costumes. This is a supervised outdoor party centered on the fun of our children and all our regular Sunday School teachers and staff will be joining the parents to assure their children's safety.
