The Mission of Cathedral of Hope is to reclaim Christianity as a faith of extravagant grace, radical inclusion and relentless compassion. We are a Vibrant, Inclusive, Progressive (VIP) Christian church.
We value every individual, wherever they are on life’s journey. We believe that God wants us to be full of joy and hope for our future.

One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: “Aren’t you the Messiah? Save yourself and us!”
But the other criminal rebuked him. “Don’t you fear God,” he said, “since you are under the same sentence? We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.”
Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”
Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

Today Rev. Andria is going live before worship to offer some announcements and create a space for you to connect with one another and get ready for worship.
Sundays are for Service and Sharing.
Join us tomorrow (between 8:30am-10am) on campus at Cathedral of Hope to give back to our community and receive communion to-go. Than join us here on facebook at 11am for online worship as we celebrate that church is so much more than a building.
Every last Sunday of the month, we collect non-perishable food items for our food pantry which serves those in our community who are experiencing food insecurity.
Tomorrow, we will also be collecting new and freshly laundered blankets and sleeping bags for our homeless community. Blankets are valuable protectors from the cold winter weather, and hot summer pavement.
Use the list below to shop for food items that are desperately needed by the community we serve. Your donations will help us to meet the needs of our community.

Great are Your works;
they are pondered by all who delight in them.
Glorious and majestic are Your deeds,
and Your righteousness endures forever.
You have caused wonders to be remembered;
God is gracious and compassionate.
You provide food and remember Your covenant forever.

Tonight we are continuing our sermon series called Pursuing Purpose. We all want to be part of something greater than ourselves. When we live into the belief that we were made on purpose and for a purpose, we can start to find deeper meaning for our lives and greater connections with God’s call to us. This January, we are Pursuing Purpose and discovering who we are called to be.
Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.

Our worship continues in Spanish!

Pre-Pulse Worship Welcome LIVE
[01/20/21] We all want to be part of something greater than ourselves. When we live into the belief that we were made on purpose and for a purpose, we can start to find deeper meaning for our lives and greater connections with God’s call to us. This January, we are Pursuing Purpose and discovering who we are called to be.
Today is a day we get to dream about what America could be.
You may have heard President Joe Biden refer to this song in his inaugural speech. Here are the powerful words:
All we've been given
By those who came before
The dream of a nation
Where freedom would endure
The work and prayers
Of centuries
Have brought us to this day
What shall be our legacy?
What will our children say?
Let them say of me
I was one who believed
In sharing the blessings
I received
Let me know in my heart
When my days are through
America
America
I gave my best to you
Each generation from the plains
To distant shore with the gifts
What they were given
Were determined
To leave more
Valiant battles fought together
Acts of conscience fought alone
These are the seeds
From which America has grown
Let them say of me
I was one who believed
In sharing the blessings
I received
Let me know in my heart
When my days are through
America
America
I gave my best to you
For those who think
They have nothing to share
Who fear in their hearts
There is no hero there
Know each quiet act
Of dignity is
That which fortifies
The soul of a nation
That never dies
Let them say of me
I was one who believed
In sharing the blessings
I received
Let me know in my heart
When my days are through
America
America
I gave my best to you

I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people--for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.

Time is neutral. It can be used either constructively or destructively. And
I am sorry to say this morning that I am absolutely convinced that the
forces of ill will in our nation have used time much more effectively than
the forces of goodwill. And it may well be that we will have to repent in
this generation. Not merely for the vitriolic words and the violent actions
of the bad people, but for the appalling silence and indifference of the
good people who sit around and say, “Wait on time.”
Somewhere we must come to see that human progress never rolls in on
the wheels of inevitability. It comes through the tireless efforts and the
persistent work of dedicated individuals who are willing to be co-workers
with God. And without this hard work, time itself becomes an ally of the
primitive forces of social stagnation. So we must help time and realize
that the time is always ripe to do right.
