Preston Hollow United Methodist Church considers the CDC a mission to the community and supports it through facilities and gifts of time and pray.
The Child Development Center is committed to providing an enriched environment in which: -Children’s creativity and curiosity is encouraged through a multitude of sensory experiences in a safe, supervised environment. -Pre-Academic curriculum is center-based for children to freely explore their play environment through thematic subjects that spark creativity and individualization. -Each child achieves individual success at his own rate of readiness. -Planned activities provide opportunities for growth in areas of emotional, social, cognitive, language, and physical development. -Self- esteem is bolstered through age- appropriate independence. Children are encouraged to perform custodial activities to the best of their ability including: dressing, eating, toileting, and social etiquette.
Mission: The philosophy of Preston Hollow Child Development Center is founded upon the principle that God has created each individual and that each child is a unique, precious child of God.
Please keep former CDC teacher, Dotty Lovria and her family in your prayers.
Dotty has suffered a massive stroke and is in ICU. The outcome does not look good. Her daughter, Ann is not allowed into the hospital to see her mother due to the current restrictions.
The doctor will call Ann when Dotty's time is near.
Please pray for peace for Dotty's family.
Dear Preston Hollow UMC CDC Families,
We originally planned to open on March 30. Since Dallas County’s stay in place order ends April 3, we now plan to open April 6.
Please check the email sent by the room mother of your child’s class for all of the details regarding specific procedural changes that will be implemented during this time of uncertainty.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. Please stay safe.
Our school follows the DISD school schedule. Before we left for Spring Break, we told everyone we would let them know if we had to close past Spring Break. It was announced today that due to COVID-19, DISD will be closed indefinitely.
Our school is hopefully and prayerfully striving to open by
March 30, 2020. We hope everyone stays well and healthy.
We will keep everyone updated.
Our fundraising garage sale is being postponed until a later date. Thank you for understanding. Until then, we are still taking donations and will be very happy to except any items you do not need after doing a spring cleaning.
It's Spring Break from 3/16 to 3/20!
If you aren't already signed up for Text By Choice, we strongly encourage all of our families to do so. If there is a school emergency such as a power outage in the area or a weather alert, Preston Hollow Child Development Center sends a text notifying our families of the emergency and how we are handling the situation.
This is a free service our school provides to better communicate with our families. Set up is quick and easy.
Instructions to use Text By Choice:
1. Text "CDC" to the number 25324 on your cell phone.
2. Wait for a message on your phone saying, "Welcome to Text By Choice."
3. You are then registered to receive our school messages.
At Preston Hollow Child Development Center, we are very intentional about providing clean, sanitary, and safe environments for everyone. We have enhanced our already-thorough cleaning procedures. This includes a comprehensive cleaning of all restrooms and various touch points (doorknobs, handles, water faucets, etc.)
The children’s classrooms and toys are disinfected after each day by the CDC staff. Next week during spring break at the CDC we have scheduled a deep clean of the church and school.
While we realize no public environment is 100% safe, we take every precaution and safety measure possible and are diligent with our staff and custodial staff in regard to proper cleaning standards and sanitation.
Don't forget to Spring Forward this Sunday ☀️🌷⏰
We are still accepting donation items for our fundraising garage sale until March 10th. We are planning to purchase toys for the older children's playground. We appreciate your donations! Thank you!

Our annual school Garage Sale is quickly approaching, and we would appreciate any donated items to make this a success. Last year we raised enough money to purchase picnic tables for the children’s playground. The children loved eating outside using the tables during most of spring and early summer. This year we would like to purchase toys for the older playground. If donating large items, we can accept them closer to the Garage Sale date since we are limited with storage. We are collecting through March 10th. Thank you!

FYI - It's student assessment week for the Older 2's, 3's and Pre-K classes.
Today we will conduct a practice drill for severe weather. This consists of the children lining the hallways, away from all windows and getting in the "duck and cover" position. Infants are put in cribs and taken to the bathrooms. The hallway walls are made of concrete. This is the safest place to be in the school.
We take severe weather seriously and we hope that you take some comfort in knowing that we are doing everything we can to be prepared.
Please call the front office if you'd like to be added to the "Text By Choice" notification system.
