St. Monica School PTO

In accordance with its mission, the St. Monica PTO has created this page in order to communicate quickly and effectively with its community.

In accordance with our mission, the St. Monica PTO has created this page in order to communicate quickly and effectively with our community about important activities and functions. In so doing, we hope to further work to promote a supportive, well-rounded and Christian educational environment. The PTO believes our activities should be an example of Christian community life. As Saint Paul writes in Chapter 4 of his letter to the Ephesians: “Bear with one another charitably, in complete selflessness, gentleness and patience. Do all you can to preserve the unity of the Spirit by the peace that binds you together. There is one Body, one Spirit, just as you were all called into one and the same hope when you were called…Never have grudges against others, or lose your temper, or raise your voice to anybody, or call each other names or allow any sort of spitefulness. Be friends with one another, and kind, forgiving each other as readily as God forgave you in Christ.”

Mission: The mission of St. Monica PTO is to promote the spiritual, educational and physical welfare of the children at St. Monica Catholic School. St. Monica PTO strives to foster a closer relationship among the home, church, and school.

Catholic Diocese of Dallas

**Please join us at Noon **

Bishop Edward J. Burns and Auxiliary Bishop Greg Kelly are asking Christians throughout North Texas to join the 1.3 million Catholics in the Diocese of Dallas in praying the Our Father at 12 noon on Wednesday, March 25th. The Bishop has also asked the leaders of other denominations to join in this effort and several have pledged their congregants to the effort. They include the Episcopal Diocese of Dallas, the Northern Texas/Louisiana Area Lutheran Church, and the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church.

The invitation from Bishop Burns comes in answer to Pope Francis' call to the leaders of all Christian churches and Christians everywhere, to join together in praying the Our Father on March 25th to implore God to rid the world of the COVID- 19 pandemic. In addition, and as a call to prayer, all participating churches are asked to ring their bells at noon on Wednesday.

According to Bishop Burns, “It is important that in these days of trial and great fear at the threat of the coronavirus, that all Christians lift our voices together in prayer to ask God our Heavenly Father for an end to this sad, turbulent time; and to pray for all those who have lost their lives to the virus, those who mourn them, as well as those battling the disease and those suffering dire financial circumstances at this time. May our Lord Jesus Christ bring comfort and healing.”

Pope calls for global Rosary for protection of our families - 3pm CT on 3.19.2020

Please see your incoming Pawprint email about Pope Francis's call for rosary tomorrow, Thursday, Mar. 19 at 3pm CT. Tomorrow we will celebrate the Solemnity of Saint Joseph. In life, work, family, joy and sorrow he always sought and loved the Lord, meriting the praise of Scripture as a just and wise man. Always invoke him with confidence, especially in difficult times, and entrust your lives to this great Saint.

Combined a whole lot of resources and good-to-knows surrounding our current COVID situation into one place.

This is just a start and still a work in progress, and by no means all-encompassing of everything out there. 💙 Please feel free to share as well as leave comments here or in the doc of things that should be added.

Stay healthy and safe, and stay home!

Meal Train for Jordan Murray

As many of you know, St. Monica's newest staff member, Jordan Murray (who works in the cafeteria, study hall, and with the basketball teams) lost his mother unexpectedly last month. Anyone who knows him will tell you what a kind human being he is. He is an excellent role model for our kids. Jordan (23) and his younger brother (18) need the help of our Bearcat community. Please consider signing up to have food delivered to these two young men to help them as they mourn their loss and try to navigate their way through this terribly difficult time. On top of her work as the school’s playground supervisor, Adrienne is currently the PTO Committee meetings co-chair and also volunteers with the JCDA and regularly in the classrooms. She is always ready and willing to do what is needed. Adrienne prefers to be more behind the scenes, but she is always providing her time and support for St. Monica and for that we are excited to recognize her.

Thank you, Adrienne!
