Something to consider when making a meal
Color your plate like a rainbow for a varied nutritional diet :-)
Coke has 44 grams of sugar in a medium cup (21 oz) = 11 teaspoons of sugar in a single serving (21 oz)
This important bit of information is your key to converting grams into teaspoons. Four grams of sugar is equal to one teaspoon. To be precise, 4.2grams equals a teaspoon, but the nutrition facts round it to four grams.
How to Minimize Sugars in The Diet
Avoid these foods, in order of importance:
Soft drinks: Sugar-sweetened beverages are awful, you should avoid these like the plague.
Fruit juices: This may surprise you, but fruit juices actually contain the same amount of sugar as soft drinks!
Candies and sweets: You should drastically limit your consumption of sweets.
Baked goods: Cookies, cakes, etc. These tend to be very high in sugar and refined carbohydrates.
Fruits canned in syrup: Choose fresh fruits instead.
Low-Fat or Diet Foods: Foods that have had the fat removed from them are often very high in sugar.
Dried fruits: Avoid dried fruits as much as possible.

Want to prevent colds, coughs and sickness this season?
Go for a walk and exercise daily.
The following is taken from Ellen G. White.
There is no exercise that will prove as beneficial to every part of the body as walking. Active walking in the open air will do more for women, to preserve them in health if they are well, than any other means. Walking is also one of the most efficient remedies for the recovery of health of the invalid. The hands and arms are exercised as well as the limbs.—The Health Reformer, April 1, 1872. HL 130.2 Morning exercise, in walking in the free, invigorating air of heaven, or cultivating flowers, small fruits, and vegetables, is necessary to a healthful circulation of the blood. It is the surest safeguard against colds, coughs, congestions of the brain and lungs, inflammation of the liver, the kidneys, and the lungs, and a hundred other diseases.—The Health Reformer, May 1, 1872. HL 130.4 Healthy, active exercise is what you need. This will invigorate the mind.—Testimonies for the Church 2:413. HL 132.2
582. There will be increased vitality, which is so necessary to health.—Testimonies for the Church 2:529. HL 132.3
583. Not only will the organs of the body be strengthened by exercise, but the mind also will acquire strength and knowledge through the action of these organs.—Testimonies for the Church 3:77. HL 132.4
584. The more we exercise, the better will be the circulation of the blood.—Testimonies for the Church 2:525. HL 132.5
585. If physical exercise were combined with mental exertion, the blood would be quickened in its circulation, the action of the heart would be more perfect, impure matter would be thrown off, and new life and vigor would be experienced in every part of the body.—Testimonies for the Church 3:490. HL 132.6 EGW

[12/18/14] Some people have used Vicks Vapor rub for years for everything from chapped lips to sore toes and many body parts in between. But one usage is getting a lot of attention lately because studies show that it works. Although scientists discovered this remedy, they are not sure how or why it works, but it does. To stop night time coughing, you put Vicks Vapor rub generously on the bottom of both feet at bedtime, then cover with socks. Even persistent, heavy, deep coughing will stop in about 5 minutes and will stay suppressed for up to 8 hours of relief. Studies show that it is more effective in children than some of the strongest prescription cough medicines on the market today. In addition, it has a soothing and comforting effect that brings on a sound and peaceful sleep.
