TOMFRA publishes the periodical "El Campanario" to inform and connect our members and concerned institutions on issues related to preservation and research involving Texas Historical Sites.

Texas A&M College of Architecture Scholarship Awards were awarded on Saturday, April 22 at Pebble Creek Country Club in College Station, Tx During the Center for Heritage Conservation's presentations, the TOMFRA two Raiford Stripling Memorial Scholarships for Advancement of Preservation in the amount of $1,500 each were awarded to Sydney Farris and Andrew Billingsley.

This morning Bill Leazer presented the Annual TOMFRA Book Award to Dan Utley, author of "Echoes of Glory" at the Texas State Historical Association's Annual Meeting in Houston.

Utley and co-author, Thomas Alexander were selected to be honored with this $500 award due to their focus on Texas forts and the important role the forts played in our state's colorful history.

The 2017 TSHA Annual Meeting showcases the research of more than 150 historians. Bill is proud to represent TOMFRA and assure our mission before such an esteemed group.

[01/15/17]   The TOMFRA Winter Meeting Luncheon will be on Saturday, 21 January 2017. The program will be presented by Peter Fix from Texas A&M Center for Maritime Archaeology and Conservation. He was directly involved in the 18 year conservation effort on French explorer La Sale's shipwreck, La Belle, that sank in 1686. A large portion of the La Belle hull and artifacts are currently on display at the Bullock State Historical Museum. Cost is $35 and registration is required for caterer headcount. [11/30/15]   Winter Meeting is coming Saturday, January 23rd, 2016. The place is the same as last year - St. Thomas the Apostle Episcopal Church, 6525 Inwood Road. Time is 12:00 noon $35.00 per person. There will be a power point presentation by Brenda Blair, an award winning Texas author. Her recently published historical novel titled "Because of the Camels" is solidly based on the United States Army Camel Experiment which began in Texas in 1856.
