Buckner Foster Care and Adoption: The Bourgeois Family

Brianna and Bradley Bourgeois took a leap of faith to grow their family through adoption. The Bourgeois family share their unique adoption journey of becoming parents and grandparents at the same time. After welcoming 16-year-old Lynette and her baby into their home, Brianna shares, "We don’t feel that every single person is called to adopt but we know that everybody is called to be a part of this process in some way."

There are many benefits of being generous. Happiness. Improved physical and mental health. Decreased stress. But for the people on the receiving end, such as vulnerable children, the benefits of generosity can change generations, living conditions, and above all, hope. First Baptist Church of Longview in Longview, Texas, is a generous church. Time, resources, member talents, volunteers, support for many programs, and the list goes on. If your church is looking for an example of how to launch a church outreach program, FBC Longview is a great place to start. #BeTheLight #FBCLongview

Buckner International

Buckner International is a global ministry dedicated to the transformation and restoration of the lives we serve. We are a Christ-centered organization that delivers redemptive ministry to the most vulnerable from the beginning to the ending of life.

Our legacy Dr. Robert Cooke “Father” Buckner founded Buckner Orphans Home in Dallas after seeing the needs of hurting and orphaned children in post-Civil War Texas. In the first years, Buckner Orphans Home was filled with children left parent-less due to disease and hardship.

It was Father Buckner’s deep compassion for the hopeless and helpless that served as the driving force behind his ministry. He constantly looked for innovative ways to deliver social ministries, including those to elders, combining his theological beliefs with a progressive social conscience.

Our Focus Ministries

Foster Care & Adoption - finding loving families for children who need them.

Family Pathways - providing single parent families critical aid and guidance

Family Hope Centers - Enabling parents. Strengthening Families.

Senior Living - Enhancing quality of life for senior adults.
