6 Things You Can do Outside with Your Family In Cold Weather.
WITH: Jeffrey S. Deitrick
I try to get out all 4 seasons and go to the Mountains. Just watching God's creatures do their thing without a worry in the world makes me think. If they who are not taught can be happy Why can't we? Want a good Christian Family Day to go to the Mountains and just watch the animals and birds around you. Plus the Fresh air is good for you.

When the cold weather hits, it’s tempting to stay inside our cozy houses and not be out in the fresh air, but contrary to what you might think, there are actually a lot of activities that you can do, special to winter. Even though the winter months, it’s important to get some fresh air and appreciate how God has Created the seasons, each with their unique beauty. I am especially reminded of Isaiah 1:18 “As I look out my window and see the birds in the snow, I bring to mind Isaiah 1:18: 'Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.” Let’s be open to what the Lord may be teaching us through this season of winter.
1. Go for a walk
Leviticus 26:12
And I will Walk among you, And will be your God, and Ye shall be my people.
Let's face it cold weather is here and we might as well enjoy it then complain about it. There really is a special beauty to nature during winter. The air is fresher and crisper and it doesn’t take long to warm up when you are on a vigorous walk. Whether you live in a city or the country, chances are that you won’t regret getting outside, getting some exercise, and enjoying God’s Creation. Also, remember God is there with you so talk about him and his creations with your children.
2. Go ice-skating
Matthew 14:25
And in the fourth watch of the night, Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.
There are ice-skating rinks indoors, but it’s always more fun to ice-skate on a real rink outside! In northern Wisconsin, where I lived as a teenager, one of my favorite winter activities was to grab my ice-skates and pretend like I was an Olympic skater in a small ice rink situated in the middle of snow-covered pine trees. While your town’s outdoor rink may not be as idyllic, nothing beats the feeling of whooshing over the ice with the wind in your face. Perhaps you can even find a rink lit by Christmas lights and decorations. What does the bible verse have to do with Ice Skating? Jesus walked on water. So we can walk on it it is frozen. So while you ice skate tell your children., Jesus walked on water. So we can do it God freezes it for us. But be careful for Satan also freezes water but thin So when you step on it you fall through and hopefully someone can get you out before you freeze to death. Stay with ice rinks they are safe. Same as if you are out walking be careful with frozen streams, creeks, and rivers. They might not be frozen enough.
3. Go sledding
Psalm 118:24
This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
Sledding is another fun outdoor winter activity that is great for the whole family. Grab your family and a sled or two sleds are also inexpensive and scout out your town’s best sledding hill--or maybe even use your own backyard! I remember Growing up taking a snowmobile and cutting out a great sled trail. Then going sled riding all day and after warming up and putting a flashlight on our sleds go sledding at night. After all, this is the day the Lord has Made. Sledding is a great way to enjoy it.

4. Collect pine cones and other objects to create winter decorations
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; a time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; a time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace.
growing up we would build a snowman We would string popcorn and some bird teats out by the snowman and watch them. One time while we were pine cone gathering to make winter scenes we built a fire and sat to one side watching the deer, rabbits, and other critters eat the food we put out for them.. We would also add pine cones and boughs and other wintertime objects. It’s amazing what you can find, even when there is snow on the ground! You might ask why these verses. Well, this is the season where the children and youth just want to play video games. Have them do as we did go outside and enjoy God's day. Let them see there is more than video games. And how creative they can really be.

5. Photograph beautiful winter scenes and each other in them!
Genesis 1:1
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth
Wintertime is a unique season with its own special beauty. Pine trees, winter birds, icicles, snowflakes, whitetail deer, and sunsets over frozen lakes are some of my favorite wintertime photography objects. You can also get some great family photos in the wintertime. I know of people who were able to sell their pics to places and make some Money. Even if you do it as a family thing. Take pics try to remember the spot go back in spring take another pic. Then Summer and fall each time taking pics. And look at the year-round beauty. It is a good way to teach the children a positive thing they might like. I mean they can share the pics on social media

6. Watch for wildlife
Matthew 6:26
Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
Not all birds fly south for the winter, and not all animals hibernate. There are still plenty that is out and about during the cold months and provides us with our own chance to score a photograph that looks as though it could be featured in next year’s calendar picture for any winter month. Remember the animals survive and they are not taught see God's beautify and lessons go outside watch the wildlife.

[10/31/15]   Christians who will go out and celebrate the darkness, when they have been saved by the Light should stay away from darkness like this. This is the season of halloween, a time when witches and satanists celebrate a high holy day; a day of death, darkness and fear. Halloween for pagans, wiccans, satanists, and demons is called samahin. This is to celebrate the dead, it’s the veil where it’s the thinnest that they can come back. These people set out pumpkins to light the way for the dead. There is much more involved in this. Christians should stay away from celebrating halloween. This is following devils and worshiping idols.

Research it you will be surprised. It’s also stated in the Bible to substain from evil, don’t serve other gods and idols and don’t commune with devils, demons, witches.

I know I'm going to have a lot of eye rolls but it's not in condemnation, just teaching. Sharing what God has given me years ago. How many Christians are celebrating Halloween tomorrow? Be not deceived my people. Abhor the appearance of evil. I know everyone may not understand the celebration of Halloween but I really would advise that you seek God for all HIS understanding of it. For those who may say "I don't celebrate Halloween BUT my kids are only going to dress up in nice character costumes not evil ones." No matter how pretty you make it sound, Still means that you are participating in the day of the dead. A rock is a rock no matter how hard you throw it. "It don't mean I worship satan cus I celebrate Halloween." So true. But what is the rule of thumb? If a person of lookout was not the one committing the crime, does it mean that he's still innocent? He's just as guilty cus he had a particular role of which he participated in a unlawful crime. In Gods eyes, participation in his unlawful way of the appearance of evil is what he says to not get involved with. Didn't satan come in the image of light? He dressed up as something he was not too. To continue to deceive and to "treat" those of whom he can with a "trick" of deception. Do you know the meaning behind the costumes? Do you know why they say trick or treat? Do you know how and why Halloween is celebrated? The REAL reason? If you say, "it's just innocent fun for the kids." My suggestion is for you to research your history and seek God! Get out of your opinions and into facts. Into revelation with the spirit. Going to church on Halloween seeking candy and dressing up still does not mean it's ok cus it's done at a CHURCH. Know ye not that you are children of the light and not DARKNESS? I've talked to witches before who laugh at Christians who partake in this day. They say,"this is THEIR Father's Day, satan of which they give sacrifices to. How interesting it is to see the bible thumpers celebrate our father too!" Don't be deceived folks. If you know God, you know his Spirit and it ain't in Halloween! He does not dwell in the appearance of evil!
