We celebrated the home going of real (93 yrs. old) Saint today. Laid to rest on this side of glory but raised up in eternity to be with Jesus! Sister(Mother)Johnson was a true prayer warrior who prayed for those who needed prayer and those who asked for prayer. Who was Sister(Mother)Johnson to me? Bro. and Sis. Jimmy Johnson was my first Sunday School teachers at Arlington Park First Baptist Church in North Dallas. When I got married in 1987, she became my wife's Sunday School teacher and woman mentor. In the darkest times of our marriage, Sister(Mother)Johnson I know, was one of the prayer warriors who kept us lifted up to the Lord in prayer! We shall see you again...bye and bye in glory Sister(Mother)Johnson.😇

12. Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.
13. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
14. I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

James 1:1-4 (KJV)
1. James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.
2. My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
3. Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
4. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

[01/31/20]   "PRAISE AND PRAYER"
Titus 2:13 (KJV)
13. Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

▪As Christians, we long for the day we will meet our Savior face to face. We cling to the promise that our Lord will reappear and we will spend eternity worshipping him. Even on our toughest days, we hold to this blessed hope. When the world feels dark and troubling, we know this is just our temporary home. Our home is with our savior, Jesus Christ. It is this blessed hope that keeps us pressing onward and sharing this hope with the rest of the world.

▪Dear God, there are many days when I am reminded that this fallen world is not my home – my home is with you for eternity! When the weight of the world begins to overwhelm me, help me to cling to that blessed hope. You are returning! No one else in history has been resurrected and no one else in history will return to Earth except for you, O Lord. Hallelujah! It is this knowledge that gives me hope to press on and help others find hope in you. In name of the Lord Jesus Christ I pray Amen.

[01/29/20]   "PRAISE AND PRAYER"
John 9:3 (KJV)
3. Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.

▪The man born blind was assumed based on Jewish tradition to have been born that way because of a specific sin of his mother or father. But it was not so. Sin is the cause of all misery in the world generally, but not the cause of every specific ailment as such. God allowed this man to be born blind that Jesus might heal him and show forth his power.

▪Lord, we know that all of us were born spiritually blind and that by Your power alone can such blindness be healed. Until You heal our blindness, we cannot see the spiritual truth and appreciate it. But now You have revealed Yourself to us through Your Word. And You have helped us to see our own true condition that we might turn to You alone for salvation and we say thank you Lord. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ we pray Amen.

[01/29/20]   "PRAISE AND PRAYER"
Mark 9:23 (KJV)
9. Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

▪Faith makes all things possible. Yet, man struggles with believing this is possible. We live amongst others who have suffered disappointments and may have grown bitter as a result. But, Jesus tells us “if” we believe, all things are possible. Believers must recognize this means all things are possible through Christ – not that all things are possible through the believer himself. Once we understand that God is capable of doing all things, we may have peace. Knowing all things are possible through God is sometimes all we need to face our struggles and overcome.

▪Dear God, when we are struggling with believing you will answer our prayers, help us to remember that you are capable of all things. Help us to place our trust in your promises and to believe that you know what we need and when we need it. Do not allow me to place faith in myself or anyone else but you, O Lord. Jesus, you are all we need. Give us peace knowing you have a plan for our lives. May our belief in you and your endless possibilities draw others to you. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ we pray Amen.

[01/23/20]   "PRAISE AND PRAYER"
John 3:20-21 (KJV)
20. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
21. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

▪Is there anything you are keeping hidden or secret from your family and friends? Why? When we sin or do evil, we try to keep it hidden because we know it is wrong and we are ashamed. In this way, darkness avoids the light for fear of being seen. Because God is holy, no sin can be hidden from him. All sin will be exposed. If you have sinned and are hiding, confess and repent! Live in the way that you are not afraid to be in the light!

▪Dear God, forgive me for my wickedness and the times I tried to hide my sin from You. I know You know my every thought and deed. You will bring all darkness into the light and expose its ugliness because You are holy. I confess my sins before You, O Lord. Help me to turn my life around and live fully in Your light. Help me to live in a way that is blameless in Your eyes. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ I pray Amen.

[01/22/20]   "PRAISE AND PRAYER"
2 Timothy 1:3 (KJV) I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day;

▪If you are feeling far from God, thank him. Acknowledge his creation and all the many blessings in your life. Reflect on all he has done. Think about how all the ways he blessed those before you for generations and how he still knows your name. When you begin to have an attitude of constant thankfulness and prayer, you will feel yourself moving closer to God. Throughout the day, thank God in your prayers.

▪Dear God, You have blessed my life abundantly. May I remember the ways You have blessed all those before me. You are good, Father. You care for Your children. When I begin to act ungrateful or fail to thank you, please forgive me and redirect my heart to one of thanksgiving. O Lord, may Your name forever be on my lips both day and night. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ I pray Amen.

Happy MLK day

[01/20/20]   "PRAISE and PRAYER"
John 17:3
And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

▪Eternal life can be summed up in one sentence: Knowing and believing in God, the Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and what he did for us. It is as simple as that. Simply, believe.

▪Dear God, I thank you for who you are and what your Son, Jesus Christ, did for me. Lord I pray that I continue to believe in you and your son and may nothing ever deter me. In name of the Lord Jesus Christ I pray Amen.

"Encouragement To Pray and Trust God"
Isaiah 30:19-21 (KJV)
19. For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem: thou shalt weep no more: he will be very gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry; when he shall hear it, he will answer thee.
20. And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, yet shall not thy teachers be removed into a corner any more, but thine eyes shall see thy teachers:
21. And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.

[01/19/20]   PRAISE and PRAYER
Matthew 6:25
25. Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

▪There is more to life than the food we eat, the money we make, and the clothes we wear. These are not things that should worry our minds. Set Your mind to the things of God which are always concerned about Your growth as a Christian and making sure that the lost in the world are brought to the light.

▪Dear God, I pray that my priorities will always be in line with what you consider important too. Lord, if a time comes where I find myself worrying about earthly things, may you remind me of what is truly important. In name of the Lord Jesus Christ I pray Amen.

[01/14/20]   "PRAISE and PRAYER"
Psalms 139:23-24
23. Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:
24. And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
▪Our relationship with God consists of us realizing the areas in which we need reformation, and following God’s guidance so that we can be healed, reformed, and transformed. Only the power of God can change our ways. We can’t do it without His help.
▪Dear God, I ask that you reveal to me any areas of my life that I need to do better in. Lord, I also ask that you help me improve in these areas because it is only through you that I can achieve such. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ I pray. Amen.

[01/11/20]   "PRAISE AND PRAYER"
Philippians 4:9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
▪The things that we see and hear in the Word of God and through the different teachers He has sent to guide us, we are to apply in our daily lives. We don’t just learn about God so we can sit on the knowledge and gloat about it. We are to apply this knowledge in our lives. This is when it will be truly effective.
▪Dear God, I ask that as I learn about more of you and your ways, may I not just be a hearer of the word but a doer of the word too. May evidence of your ways be present in my life. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ I pray. Amen.

[01/09/20]   "PRAISE AND PRAYER"
Psalms 100:4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
▪Psalms is a rich and beautiful repository of verses extoling the truth, love and joy of knowing our Lord God. Rejoice!
▪Thanks and praise be to You Lord, for offering Your salvation to the world, so that all may enter Your Heavenly Kingdom and exalt Your name in honour and glory. Thanks you Lord, for whom I rejoice at the gates of Your Heavenly Kingdom, rejoicing with Your Disciples in singing David’s psalms. At the feet of Your throne, I give my thanks for Your mercy everlasting. Blessed be thy name, the power and the glory forever and ever in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ I pray Amen.

[01/05/20]   "Praise and Pray"
Romans 13:8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

▪Simple, beautiful, and poignant. We owe nothing to others except love. Do that, and God's law is fulfilled. I only wish I could say that I always did it, but we all must try.

▪I love You, caring and gentle God, more than these words can ever suffice to say. I love Your son, Jesus Christ, with all of my heart and strength, which is not an iota of the power with which He loved me. I love the Holy Spirit, sustaining my faith, protecting me, nourishing my soul. Thank you, majestic Lord, for loving me so dearly. I pray today that I will fulfill Your law to love others as You have taught me. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ I pray Amen.
