Cockrell Hill Church

First I want to give our Heavenly Father God a BIG thank you for this glorious day.

Tuesday, 09/31/21 We celebrate our two birthday members of our Golden Years Senior Program, Mrs. Flo Trevino and Jesse Garza. Everyone had a great time and the birthday pair enjoyed their gifts.

And Tuesday, 10/05/21 We had a great time in fellowship with our Golden Years Senior Program participants at Cockrell Hill United Methodist Church.

Our God is so good. Thank you Heavenly Father God for all the laughter that day Thank you for touching the participants hearts as they gave you praises that morning and during the blessing of our meal at lunch time. Thank you for bringing such loving and giving people into our lives and for the opportunity to serve at our Senior program. We are truly blessed.

On this date everyone enjoyed oatmeal & toast for breakfast along with all their favorite topping (raisins, cranberries, nuts, granola, fruit sauce, and honey). And for lunch we all enjoyed Beef Picadillo, Pinto Beans, Arroz and Hot Tortillas. We were so blessed by Ramona y Erasmo Ramos' for her delicious potato salad she made for us. And Mrs. Guadalupe Garcia made some scrumptious chocolate covered almonds for the group; it was a delicious treat after lunch. THANK YOU Ramona & Guadalupe.

Thank you Lord, for our guest speaker Maria Rodriguez, she enlightened & educated us in what she calls "Medicare 101". We all learned a lot that day and several persons went to her table to have 1-on-1 sessions with her. They had several great questions, and she provided them with the answer, guidance and information on “Medicare, Benefits information” and on various other Supplemental Insurance Companies which are available during Open Season.

Our Sr. program participants enjoyed planning for our casino trip for (Wednesday, 10/13/21), unfortunately due to predicted bad weather it was rescheduled for 10/20/21. Everyone was so excited, my sister Bessie Salazar did such a great job coordinating this trip; they finalized their last minute details this past Tuesday 10/19/21 and arranged to meet at the church on 10/20/21

Tuesday, 10/12/21 everyone had a very relaxing day at the Sr. program. We had Arroz con Leche for breakfast and Spaghetti and Garlic bread and one of our Sr. participants, Janie Gomez, prepared candied carrots for everyone to enjoy w/ our lunch. THANK YOU Janie.

Tuesday, 10/19/21 I was so busy enjoying myself at our CHUMC Golden Years Senior program with cake decorating and serving lunch that once again I did not have time to take photos; therefore, I want to thank Ignacio Cervantes aka "Mr. C / Nacho" for sharing his photos with me today.

10/20/21 the senior program group headed out at 7:00 a.m. for their group outing to the WinStar Casino. And according to my last update from sister Bessie, two persons won big; one person won $2,000 and another person won $800. Congratulations to the $$ winners.

Enjoy the pictures and praying everyone has a great week.

They are all under self quarantine, wearing their masks & gloves every time they leave their bedrooms and of course they cannot leave the house.
