The Cities of Refuge - Dallas

Ours is a vision of restoration. Setting the stage for the restoration of people from bondage. Restoration of a functioning church where each believer does

Welcome to The Cities of Refuge – Dallas. We are a city of refuge, an oasis in life in a land that is spiritually dry. We are a place of reclaiming, restoration, refreshing and re-focusing. We will not define you by your past, but accept you for who you are and what you may become. We will also do all in the power of the Holy Spirit to help you to become God’s best instrument to this world, doing what He has called you to be!

Mission: Ours is a vision of restoration. Setting the stage for the restoration of people from bondage. Restoration of a functioning church where each believer does his or her part by flowing in the works that God has prepared for them to do and by fulfilling their purpose and destiny. Our primary focus is the restoration of believers within a seven-fold ministry lifestyle. The goal is to help believers to become fully recognized and functioning within areas of their anointing. With this aim, believers will be releasing the anointing and ministry that God has prepared them for. The end result of this change of lifestyle is the production of works of service so that the body of Christ can be built up into maturity. Our restoration process is NOT "authoritarian shepherding" or exercising control that takes away an individual believer's responsibility for their Christian walk. Rather it is encouraging and equipping each believer to rise to their full stature in Christ as a mature believer who discovers their own vision, purpose and destiny.

[09/01/20]   Evangelicalism = Spinelessness?

[09/01/20]   Our platitudes of Heavenly Glory are turning out to be of no earthly good. Shame that the Cross has lost its luster to the situational ethics that we have come to now beneath ❤️

[08/30/20]   Please use common sense to protect yourself, your love ones and those around you.

The following is my manifesto of my journey from the heights of theological premises that transcends to nowhere, to the reality that the only reality IS wrapped around the Cross of Christ and whose precious BLOOD covers my own inadequacies.

What I am ashamed of?

1. I am ashamed that I live in a world that perpetuates evil upon others in the name of their god.
2. I am ashamed to live in a country that deems it’s policies more important than the lives of people whom it’s supposed to protect.
3. I am ashamed to live in a state that glorifies the sacrifice of others for personal and political gains.
4. I am ashamed to live in a city that treats some of its people as valueless because of their lives of poverty.
5. I am ashamed to live in a community that cries out for justice and quickly complain when others cry out for the same justice.
6. I am ashamed to live in a faith that bows to the altar of immortality than bowing to the cross of Christ.
7. I’m ashamed to be a person of color when we protest and demonstrate then dismantle and destroy our own communities.
8. I am ashamed to be a conservative while other conservatives demean others for the sake of aligning with racism.
9. I am ashamed to be under a constitution that declares all are free yet has to add amendments to declare what it already states.
10. I am ashamed of submitting to a president who desires to take powers, positions and policies that only bend to his view of a future.
11. I am ashamed that when the law of the land is only for some and not for others.
12. I am ashamed to have shown respect to those who influenced me to agree with misguided goals in an effort to manipulate me.

What I am not ashamed of?

1. I’m not ashamed of asking forgiveness of those whom I have wronged.
2. I’m not ashamed to admit that I don’t know everything.
3. I’m not ashamed to cry with those who cry or cheer with those who are cheered. .
4. I’m not ashamed of loving those who are unlovable.
5. I’m not ashamed to identify with those whom life has been difficult.
6. I’m not ashamed to stand for doing what’s right in the midst of wrongdoing.
7. I’m not ashamed to serve those who are forgotten.
8. I’m not ashamed to support those who respect the dignity of others.
9. I’m not ashamed to support the government for good policies that benefit all.
10. I’m not ashamed to follow the law even if others do not.
11. I’m not ashamed to be identified as a follower of Christ and a person of color.
12. I’m not ashamed to submit to the love, mercy and grace of Christ for those whom He di d for.

What are you ashamed of?
What are you not ashamed of?

Make your own list and change your perspectives that can heal a situation rather than hurt a situation.

I too grieve this that the inward heart expresses in outward experiences that our hearts have indeed not been changed but morphed into a grotesque example of the stone gargoyles that suggests what may truly be in the inside of the structures that they sit upon. Don’t lose heart over the prevailing winds of our hy·poc·ri·sy!

[09/04/12]   Ten Principles of Choosing Leadership

1. What a man does in secret is really who he is.

2. A man who lives by a lie will not stand for the truth.

3. Integrity is not what you evolve to in experiences but how firm you stand in the core that you start with.

4. Character is not developed in a crisis but it is displayed.

5. A win at any cost brings many losers.

6. Principles are sign posts that keep you on the road. They are not exits.

7. He who hides his past in his walk cannot suggest a path to others he has never traveled.

8. Win an argument, you lose a friend. Win a war, you lose a nation.

9. He who lets his family defend him in battle, cannot lead others defensively in war.

10. He who hides much from others, hides the truth from himself.

[08/22/12]   Psalm 66
Come and hear, all you who fear God;
let me tell you what he has done for me.
I cried out to him with my mouth;
his praise was on my tongue.
If I had cherished sin in my heart,
the Lord would not have listened;
but God has surely listened
and has heard my prayer.
Praise be to God,
who has not rejected my prayer
or withheld his love from me!
