Our Hawaiian Theme SWIM Pool Party is going to be so much fun! I can hardly wait for September 7th! The party will take place at the Swiss Tower Apartments Pool on DTS campus from 5-7pm! All DTS seminary wives are invited, both on and off campus. And even if you don't like to swim, come anyways! There's going to be a hula-hooping competition, a limbo game, a bit of food, and so much sweet fellowship with other wives just like YOU! At the very least - come keep me company! I live off campus and don't know many of you, so I'd love to meet some new friends ☺️ I just registered! If you haven't yet, you can register here: https://students.dts.edu/studentlife/student-groups/seminary-wives-in-ministry/swim-pool-party-registration/

Hi! we are a new homeschool group! Check us out!
Hi, seminary wives! My sweet friend from college recently published a book called "Becoming Peace" - it is a historical fiction about the trial, crucifixion, and resurrection of Jesus from the eyes of a family living at that time. The story is compelling!
Do you love children, enjoy serving others, and could use some extra funds? SWIM small groups have started, and we are still in need of a few loving babysitters to care for the children of our members during Friday morning meetings 9-11am. Our groups meet every other week for 2 hours throughout the semester. Babysitters make $20 per meeting and are paid in total at the conclusion of each semester. Please contact me if you are willing to help out with this need. Thanks! Allie Sherron [email protected]

HI ladies! Our homeschool Classical Conversations Group is looking for two childcare workers on Tuesday afternoons for 12 weeks this semester and 12 weeks next semester...the location is First Baptist Euless, (In Euless, TX)...it is about 20-30 minute drive from seminary. We need one or two leaders, from 12:40-3:45 for about 14 kiddos. The parents and siblings are in the building for another class, and these 14 kids are ages 3-8. They just want to play together, play games, do crafts, watch movies, sing. It is pretty relaxed and does not require a lot of planning. It DOES pay $20-25/week. You can do something organized and well planned, or you can be spontaneous and just hang out with the kids. We begin Tuesday September 5th (JUST ONE WEEK away!) and would LOVE to give one of you a chance to help out if your available. If you are unable to help out, please share this need with others as we will be most appreciative! Please message me or call/text me asap! 303-908-9650
Any ladies looking for a part-time job (with discounted childcare).... Valley Ranch Baptist Preschool where I work (and it's awesome there) is hiring last minute! Here is a snapshot of the director's post:

Come be encouraged, equipped, and strengthened in your faith and marriage, and be given wisdom on how to further prepare for ministry as a couple.

Please RSVP by following this link and let us know if you can make it. https://students.dts.edu/studentlife/student-groups/seminary-wives-in-ministry/2018-swim-fall-seminar-registration/

Childcare is available for infants to age 5. Brunch will be provided. This is a free event, and promises to be a good one.

We are in the throes of the semester, now that Fall is *officially* here (whether it feels like it in Dallas or not!). We hope you and your husband are having a great semester.

We wanted to let you know of some opportunities to serve on the SWIM Board, should you find yourself wanting a little more during your time at seminary - more fun, more fellowship, more ministry experience, and more friends. 😉

We are currently in need of women to step into the following positions:

🗣Assistant Special Events Coordinator
🗣Assistant Triple S Coordinator
🗣Photographer
🗣Assistant Decorations

If you are interested in any of these, please send us a message here on FB! Let’s get the conversation started!

💪🏻 You have the skills to be on our team and help make this ministry continue to thrive.

What a great team of ladies (some not pictured) that make up your SWIM Board! We have already begun planning for the Fall semester, and can’t wait to share with you what is ahead for our DTS seminary wives in ministry.

In the meantime, we hope you have a great summer! Congratulations to our 2019 graduates, and Godspeed to those who have already departed Dallas for the ministry God has in store for your family. We are praying a blessing over your marriage and your work.

Stay tuned for what’s ahead. And hey, if being on the SWIM Board seems fun to you (it should, because it is 😉), we are always looking for new faces to join our ranks. We’d love to have a conversation with you about where your gifts and abilities might best bless the work we are doing. Send us a DM and let’s get the discussion going.

Friends, we had a great time celebrating our graduating wives this morning. While it’s always sad to say goodbye, what adventures the Lord has in store for these ladies! Our DTS families depart here for all over the country, but also all over the world. In this room alone people have plans to be in China, India, the Philippines, Scotland, and Guatemala in the months and years ahead.

To summarize some of what the faculty wives shared, and encouraged each of us in:
🌷Stay in the Word! Give yourself grace if you have a bad day, but keep coming back to your time with the Lord.
🌷Pray continuously! Meditate on His word and even journal the things He is putting on your heart.
🌷Don’t forget what you learned in the light when you find yourself in the dark.
🌷He loves you! It’s not always easy, but don’t forget His tremendous love for you! He will not leave you or stop loving you!
🌷There are rocky roads ahead, but there are tremendous blessing ahead too. Stay the course. You are creating an inheritance; God can take a little faith and turn it in to something miraculous.

“Only fear the LORD and serve him faithfully with all your heart. For consider what great things he has done for you.” - 1 Samuel 12:24

Enjoy your week of festivities and celebration, God knows you deserve it!

Special congratulations to our two Triple S graduates: Lauren Zender and ZhenZhen Xiao. Great job ladies. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Hope to see you there!

Did your husband graduate in December? Is he graduating in May or in the summer? Then this event is for you!

This is one of the best moments of the seminary experience - GRADUATING! This event is set aside to acknowledge you and the role you played in all that had to happen to get to this culminating moment. It’s a special time of sharing and reflecting on all that the Lord has done during your time at DTS, and sharing what work He may be up to in the years to come as you launch into your post-seminary lives.

Don’t miss this! It’s the beginning of the graduation festivities, and there will even be a gift for you!

Meet us in Campbell 110 at 9am on May 4! See you there!

(Help us spread the word - tag your friends whose husbands are graduating!)

Our Story

There are three main components to the SWIM program that assist us in fulfilling our mission:

Bridges: Bridges helps connect incoming seminary wives with current seminary wives as they transition to the seminary life. It offers a point of human connection, a familiar face, and a first friend to help a new wife embark in a new season of life.

Triple S: SWIM Self-Study exists to provide the seminary wife with opportunities of spiritual growth through an independent reading program and mentoring and encouragement through a faculty wife. SWIM Small Groups: SWIM Small Groups exists to assist seminary wives to grow in their walk with the Lord, develop relationships, and help prepare them for ministry. In addition, we also sponsor special events such as semester opening programs, seminars, and an annual wives retreat in the Spring semester.
