Bible Gateway passage: Matthew 28:16-20 - New International Version

I had the honor of preaching at A Place of Hope church in Forney. My topic was “Engagement”- with emphasis on the surrounding community. My chosen pericope was “The Great Commission” from Matthew 28:16-20. We are ordered to “Go” into the world and proclaim the ultimate gift- salvation in Christ- to those entrapped in darkness. Verse 20 ensures us of Jesus’ presence as we “Engage” others. However, in verse 17, we are made aware that “some doubted”. Do you doubt your ability to proclaim the Good News to the lost? Do you want to engage in bringing “the light that came into the world” (John 3:19) this Christmas, but you don’t feel you have the “training”, or the “weapons” in which to engage? The Holy Spirit has given me a prophetic message for His church to assure each and every believer that they do, in fact, have the weapons to wage spiritual warfare and that the Lord has been training you for all of your life! Contact me if you want further insight into this message... I’m often reminded of the song, “Save the Best for Last”, and it’s lyrical line- “Sometimes the very thing you’re looking for, is the one thing you can’t see...” Pastor Marty 🙏🏻🎸🎄

Soul Flight is thankful for all who support this ministry through prayer, finances, and volunteer service! We praise God for each of you 🙏🏻 Happy Thanksgiving 🦃

“Everything that happens in this world happens at the time God chooses. He sets the time for birth and the time for death. The time for planting and a time for pulling up.” Ecclesiastes 3:1-2
Fall cleaning at Rehoboth...In special moments, I stand in awe of God as His sovereign hand moves His creation in its cyclical manner. There are constant resets in the world and within us, but the Lord is ever steady in His sovereign control. There is a theological concept known as the “Immutability of God”- it means that “God is unchanging in His character, will, and covenant promises.” The year of 2020 will go down in history as a moment where our communal reality changed. As Thanksgiving approaches, I will fill my heart with gratitude that I serve, and am loved by, an “Immutable” God. My peace, hope, and joy are firmly “rooted” in that. Pastor Marty

Matthew 18:19-20, “If two of you agree on earth about anything you ask, it will be done for you by my Father in Heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them.” Join us in our prayer that God will multiply the number of women at our Soul Flight communion table.

Soul Flight bible study at Rehoboth has been focusing on finding, implementing, and enjoying God’s divinely predestined plan for our lives (Ephesians 2:10). One of the threefold pathways we are discussing is:
Belief- Faith- Works
The first thing that God wants us to do, according to the words of Jesus, is “...to believe in the one He has sent.” (John 6:29). “Belief” in John’s gospel is correlated with the concept, and act of, “obedience”. Jesus’ ultimate mission in being sent was to be the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. When we truly “believe” this, we in turn “sacrifice” our own lives in complete subservience to him. As the old self dies (as is symbolic in baptism) the new self begins as we inherit “the mind of Christ” (1 Corinthians 2:16). This mental “reset”, with belief in it’s true form, inaugurates the believers journey into the new life in Christ that scripture affirms has been preordained for us all. It is our prayer at Soul Flight Ministry for ladies to find this very purpose within their own lives.
Pastor Marty

[10/20/20]   Praising God for our first presentation since the start of the pandemic. Soul Flight was blessed by the generosity and hospitality of Athens Church of the Nazarene this past Sunday 😊🙏🏻

[09/17/20]   I came across this during my morning coffee. I can professionally speak to the collateral damage and repercussions of the Covid quarantine on our participants in Soul Flight. Please continue to pray for those within the government, medical, and recovery treatment fields, as they navigate these unique and challenging times. Pray for the clientele of the mental health and recovery systems as well. Pastor Marty 🙏🏻

The relapse and overdose rate has increased by 30% since March 2020. Mental health issues related to our lockdown and the pandemic are especially hard for people with depression. NAMI, The National Alliance on Mental Illness has a 24-hour helpline: 800-950-6264.
Now, I’m asking my small corner of FB to follow suit: Could any two of my Facebook friends just copy and repost to share the helpline far and wide?
Just two. Any two. Say done.

I will get you on our list! God’s blessings,

Thanks to Board Member and volunteer Ramona for using her “green thumb” to beautify Rehoboth!

[05/22/20]   All Supporters & Volunteers,
I hope this post finds you all in good spirits and health. I wanted to publicly proclaim the Lord's praise for both His, and your, faithfulness to Soul Flight. The financial support coming into the ministry has remained steady, without one supporter discontinuing their pledge to the ministry during these uncertain times- THANK YOU for that! Many prayer supporters have reached out to voice their well wishes and their continued, fervent supplications to the Lord for our ladies and mission. Ministry continues at all times, regardless of circumstance, and your faithful support allows us to persevere in building God's kingdom. Thank you to the Body of Christ from myself and our program participants!
In Christ's service- Pastor Marty

[03/25/20]   In response to the current COVD-19 pandemic, Soul Flight will be suspending interviews of potential new participants until “Shelter in Place” mandates are lifted. This decision is not made in haste or fear, but in seeking the Lord’s wisdom through prayer. I cannot let my mind be in a state of doubt about whom we might “miss out” on helping, but rather, be confident in a sovereign Lord who is working all things out for His good purposes (Romans 8:28). To all of our volunteers- I ask that you please respect all county, state, and national government edicts during this critical time, as we suspend any gathering functions until further notice (Romans 13:1). We can continue to pray for one another, and especially those in both the medical and governing bodies, during this time of isolation. It is my prayer that we use this time for introspection and growth- that we may “...be still and know...” (Psalm 46:10), so when the time is right, in a renewed strength and vision, we may “Therefore go...” (Matthew 28:19-20).

In Christ’s service,
Pastor Marty- Executive Director

“Rehoboth” means “the Lord has given room for growth” (Gen. 26:22) The Soul Flight House was christened with this name at it’s dedication. This piece of art combines the reading out of John 4, of the woman at the well, along with Issac’s finding of a well in Genesis. Wells were sources of water, and with water, there is life. Soul Flight is a “well” in which women in crisis can meet Jesus, know Him as savior, and have “room to grow” in that relationship. Thanks to Ministry Team partner Jeanette Lemke for drawing this artwork 👏🙌
