Palm Sunday Greetings!
While this is hardly our usual meeting format for Palm Sunday, isn't it wonderful to know that we are able to at least meet online?
If we take a moment to think back to that first Palm Sunday, without question, it was a time of great hardship and trial for God's people. Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey as the people shouted Hosanna. A donkey was hardly the mode of transportation for a conquering King, yet the people were willing to overlook the situation because they believed their Messiah had finally arrived.
Well, we know those same people just a few days later would be shouting to crucify the Lord as their dreams were being crushed right before their eyes. Jesus didn't object to their praises earlier, and indeed, He said if people didn't praise Him, the rocks would.
Just as Jesus didn't reject their praises then, He won't reject our praises now!
Even in the midst of a crisis of immense proportion in our nation and world, we believe Jesus is still worthy of our praises!
So rest assured the church of Jesus Christ is NOT confined to a building! The Church is the body of believers such as you and I joining together to impact a lost and dying world.
Let's declare the hope we have in Christ on this Palm Sunday 2020!
Join us for online worship at 10:30 am, Facebook Live.
Live Communion immediately following service, so please have your cracker, wafer, juice or whatever you have consecrated to be symbolic as the body and blood of Christ.
Please Govern yourselves accordingly to the information in this Video!

It’s ok to trust Him. He’s got it.
Part of my role as pastor involves mentoring and counseling. With a fairly large church, you can imagine the number of calls I get. I can honestly say I enjoy this aspect of being a pastor immensely. Not too long ago, one of the men from the church came over to my home to meet with me. He had been going through a rough time.
As he sat in my family room, head hung low, he lifted his eyes to mine and said, “Pastor, I feel as if my detour has met another detour, and they got married and had a baby detour.” In other words, he felt as if he were running into detour after detour after detour and that the detours merely kept replicating and multiplying rather than taking him anywhere meaningful.
This is because before you can ever get to where God wants you to be, He has to do some twists and turns. In life, as it is often on the road, detours exist because construction is taking place. When you are on a highway and there is a detour, it is usually because workers are trying to fix, build, correct or improve something.
Similarly, God will take us on a detour because He is constructing something in our lives as well. Granted, detours are anything but convenient. They take you out of the way. They are longer than you originally had planned to travel. But they are necessary. God is more interested in your development than your arrival. He cares more for your character than your comfort—your purity than your productivity.
It's okay to trust God when things don't make sense. He's got you. And He has a purpose in every twist, turn and detour you find yourself in.

God is speaking. No. God is shouting. A few months ago, none of us could see this coming, but God did. He was not surprised. And now, He is shaking us out of our complacency. He is calling for us to realign our values and our purposes with His.
When you clean a house with not much time to spare, it’s easy to brush the dirt under the sofa or pack things into a closet. But when you have more time, you move the sofa to clean under it. You empty that messy closet. During this time of uncertainty, take the time He has given you to go to Him in prayer, and ask God what hard-to-reach areas of your life need to be refocused on Him.

Friends, we are living through unprecedented times, but remaining isolated doesn’t mean having to feel isolated. We are physically distancing, not social distancing. Stay connected to each other. Thankfully, this is all happening during an age when we are more connected than ever before, so let’s use that opportunity to continue to love our neighbors. Here are 10 ideas that can help you care for the people around you even when you’re stuck at home.
Call a friend – Just to hear the voice of a new person can be a great encouragement to someone. Keep the conversation positive, and laugh together.
Eat local – Many restaurants are still open for delivery, drive-thru and take-out. The family-owned restaurants around you are likely struggling right now, so do your part and order from these small businesses. You’ll be glad they made it through all of this when the world goes back to normal.
Meet with your small group – Get together with your small group or community group virtually. Tools like Zoom, Google Hangouts and Facebook Messenger all offer group video calls where you can see each other’s smiling faces even from your own homes.
Keep tithing – Many churches are continuing to produce recorded or live-streamed videos for Sunday morning services, children’s resources for doing church at home, and providing daily encouragement to their congregations. Remember that the church is not the building and even as we gather remotely, resources are required to keep the ministry moving forward.
Write a letter – We all get way too many emails, but how special is it to get something that someone hand-wrote in the mail? You can brighten someone’s day by kicking it old-school and penning a letter to someone. And don’t worry about your handwriting. It’s the thought that counts
Only post positive – Social media can be a dreadful place during times like these. Commit to posting the positive things that are happening, and encourage others to do the same. Rather than complain about being stuck at home, rejoice in the newfound time you have.
Shop for someone – If you know of someone in your community who is elderly or is at high risk as it relates to this illness, offer to do some grocery shopping for them. Just be sure to get them to the person in a way that helps keep them isolated and safe.
Pray together – Many people have used the excuse that they don’t have time to pray. Well, we all have the time now. Take a few minutes out of each day to pray for family, friends and your community. And if you like praying with other people, invite them to join you by phone or online.
Encourage your family and neighbors – Kids can be especially sensitive to the moods and attitudes of the adults around them. While there is a lot of uncertainty today, we can mitigate that by speaking frankly with kids about what is going on, but also offering encouragement because God is still on His throne, and He will see us through this.
Play together – The internet has given us innumerable opportunities to play and relax with people all around the world. Whether it’s through a video game, online chess or watching a movie with friends online, find ways to enjoy leisure time together when distance separates us.
Stay safe and continue to pray, seek His Face.
FMBC would like to wish this beautiful woman of God a very special and blessed birthday. May all your wishes come true and may you continue to be blessed by our awesome Creator, from whom all blessings flow.
Love you lady bug.
A Prayer for Our Leaders
All authority is Yours, but You have given authority to leaders to protect and guide us.
Today, we ask that You would give all our leaders wisdom, discernment, strength, and resolve. Keep them healthy, safe, and rested so that they can continue to guide us through this troubling time.
Give our government leaders wisdom about what needs to be done to stop the virus and stabilize our economy.
Give our spiritual leaders Your discernment on how to meet people’s needs as they continue to glorify Your name and encourage the Church.
Give our medical leaders insight into how to stop the virus. Strengthen their resolve and honor their hard work in creating a treatment for COVID-19.
Give our civic leaders inspiration, courage, joy, and strength to meet the needs of their communities.
And help us, as leaders in our communities, to display courage, hope, generosity, and kindness. Would the way we honor others inspire those around us.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Friendship!! What a blessing it is for us to be in compliance with our social distancing order and yet still be connected! We are missing the fellowship and the gatherings of the saints but this too shall pass! Soon we will be able enjoy the Friendship Worship Experience but until then let us remain faithful in doing what we can and not allowing what we can't do to stop us! As it has been instilled in us at Friendship; "Faithfulness Never Goes Unrewarded".
Let's continue to pray for our Pastor and church leadership during this time. Continue to pray one for another and please be safe and take care of yourselves! It's our responsibility to be good stewards of the gifts that God has so freely given us; Our lives and our bodies!

[03/19/20] You may remember the time Peter stepped out of a boat and started to walk on water toward Jesus. But when he focused the chaos of the storm around him, he began to sink. During uncertain times like these, it is important that we not lose sight of our Savior.
