AS-SALAAMU 'ALAYKUM! Welcome to Masjid Al-Islam! We're located at 2604 S. Harwood, just south of Downtown Dallas. Open for all five daily prayers and Jumah prayer @ 1:45 on Friday. Everyone is welcome. See you soon!
Mission: To proclaim in word and deed the universal message of Al-Islam, that there is but one God (Allah), one human family, with a balanced community life to achieve human excellence and good character.
In lieu of congregational prayer, we present a message from our Imam - Elect, Muhammad Abdul-Jami 4/3/2020.
[04/02/20] Our website, Masjidalislam.org, is currently offline. We are upgrading the site, as discussed in the Community Corner video.
In lieu of regular, congregational prayer, we present the following special message from Imam Khalid Shaheed.
As Salaamu Alaikum All, in lieu of Jum’ah Svc we have a message from Imam-Elect Muhammad Abdul-Jami. People should perform Dhuhr salat instead of Jum’ah.
ATTENTION ALL BELIEVERS: May Allah protect and guide us all. Jum'ah prayers are cancelled for the time being due to the state of emergency announced earlier this evening by the Dallas Mayor. Our Masjid will remain accessible for the 5 daily prayers. The Beacon of Light feeding program is suspended as well. ALL other Masjid activities and programs are suspended until further notice. We apologize for the disappointment this may cause. May Allah reward you all for understanding.

It is my pleasure to share with the community the air date of a special episode of the CNN Series This is Life with Lisa Ling, which will focus on Muslims in the community of Imam W. Deen Mohammed.
Earlier this year I was contacted by Part 2 Pictures, the production company contracted to produce the series called, This is Life with Lisa Ling for the CNN network. They reached out to me to do a show on the Muslim Women’s Self-defense classes I host throughout Memphis. While working with me with intentions to film the classes, I had many conversations with them about my life story and their interest turned from the small narrow concept of Muslim women's self-defense, to the larger focus of African-American Muslims in the United states under the leadership of Imam W. Deen Mohammed. Consequently, they requested to feature our experiences in a dedicated episode of This is Life with Lisa Ling.
Over a course of 5 days we did a host of filming with the world-renowned journalist Lisa Ling. During her time in Memphis, Lisa filmed with me, Kalimah A. Rashada, as a student of Imam W. Deen Mohammed, followed by a look into the life of Sergeant. Ma’Hajj Abdul-Baaqee with the Memphis Police Department, and Haneefah Abdullah a nurse who recently married and moved to Memphis from Texas. All these stories came together to show the unique existence of African-American Muslims in America who follow the divinely inspired leadership of Imam W. Deen Mohammed.
I invite you to join me and millions of viewers around the world to watch this unique episode of This is Life with Lisa Ling on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at 10 p.m. ET and 9 p.m. CT.
*** Please note that though we recognize that this is wonderful opportunity providing exposure about our lives and experiences as the first American Muslims to mainstream public audiences, the production company that produces this series and this episode is not one of our own and it is possible that the framing and presentation of information may be skewed, sensationalized, or misrepresented. This reality further underpins the fact that we need more successful companies of our own in this field to ensure that our story is represented exactly the way we envision.
