Oak Lawn United Methodist Church, Dallas, TX Video April 17, 2019, 6:09pm

Videos by Oak Lawn United Methodist Church in Dallas. The purpose of Oak Lawn UMC is to worship and serve God while practicing the inclusion of all people in order to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of our community and the world.

Rachel Griffin Baughman and Wayne Walker from OurCalling spoke at City Council today in defense of the work we do with our Oak Lawn Overnight Warming Station. To our delight, we received great support from various council men and council women in session to continue this work! Mayor Rawlins hit it home, before taking a recess for lunch, in saying: “We should all wear our church hats here; when people suffer, the church needs to be able to help them.” Huge thank you to our councilman, Philip T. Kingston for Dallas for giving Rachel a voice today. Thank you!

Welcome Home Fabian
We were so excited to welcome home one of our own. Fabian Horany returned from an 11-month deployment and we couldn't have been happier. Thank you to Fabian and to all who serve for us. We are thankful that he returned home and joined us this morning. It was amazing to see him and worship with him. Here is the blessing in case you can’t hear all the words: There's no place like home. Diana Butler Bass reminds us that home is where we are known and loved for who we are. Home is where we learn to love well. Home is all the sweeter when we return after being away for a time. Today, we have the joy of welcoming Fabian home after being deployed to the Middle East for several months. We are grateful for his military service. As he returns home to his husband John and to the many friends who love him, we want to offer a blessing and a gift... May this blessing fill your soul like a home-cooked meal May this blessing replenish you like a long nap on a sofa May this blessing warm your spirit like a lazy afternoon by the pool May this blessing surround you with the love of those who care for you the most May this blessing always whisper of home, no matter where you are.

July 7th Offertory, Jose Guzman
