"Following the Man With God's Plan."
Joshua 6:15-16

15 On the seventh day they rose early, at the dawn of day, and marched around the city in the same manner seven times. It was only on that day that they marched around the city seven times. 16 And at the seventh time, when the priests had blown the trumpets, Joshua said to the people, “Shout, for the Lord has given you the city.

[06/18/16]   Greetings Shipmates,

Jesus said that His people were “the light of the world.” Not only should our presence put darkness to flight, it should also cause the world to be a more colorful and beautiful place. There is nothing like meeting a Christian who is reflecting all the light of the Savior. That person is a ray of light in a dark place. That person is a thing of beauty in a drab world. This is what the Bible teaches us that every believer ought to be, Phil. 1:27!)
This world can be a dreary place. I am not referring to the weather, but to the spiritual climate. However dark, dank and dreary a day may be, when I am exposed to the light of the people of God I am instantly brightened! There may be a chill in my own soul, but a few minutes around a Brother or Sister who is shining with the Light of Jesus in their hearts, can cause the chill to thaw, and can help me to be a little warmer. Thank God for the redeemed children of God! They are like a warm ray of light in a dreary place!

Reflections on Pastor Eddie Island's Sunday Morning message, "Living The Good Life." Psalms 34:12-15:

To live the good life and have the God of peace with us, we must have:

1. A GODLY DELETION - We must delete some things out of our lives that cause us to fail: A deadly tongue, lying, deceitfulness, cursing, envy, hatred, etc. "Keep your tongue from evil, and your lips from speaking deceit," (Psalms 34:13). Remove all UNGODLY things from your mind. Instead, "whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy - THINK ON THESE THINGS. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, THESE DO, and the God of Peace will be with you." .(Philippians 4:8-9). When you remove the ungodly things from your mind and heart...they won't come out of your mouth!!. For we know, "For our of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks." (Matthew 12:34)

2. A GODLY DIRECTION - When you find yourself headed down the wrong path, ask God to help you turn your life around. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not to your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths." (Proverbs 3:5-6). When you turn your life around and submit to God, the Holy Spirit that dwells within you will keep and guide you in a godly direction.

3. A GODLY DEVOTION - God's eyes and ears are on the righteous. He listens for their cry. When a child of God prays to Him, He hears and answers the prayer if it's in His will. God wants our daily praise and worship. He wants us to stay connected to Him through constant prayer. We should not wait until we encounter tragedy to call on the Lord, but daily talk to him. Develop your own personal relationship with him.
