As someone having been through Re:generation at Watermark as well as Re:Engage I am the first to recommend these amazing programs. However, I know there are not in person meetings right now so I wanted to offer some support. When Racial Tensions Rise, So Must The Church

Any Christian should be grieved by racism, injustice, and apathy toward the things that break the heart of God.
This is how we talked about these things when we gathered last Saturday night. We feel like we missed an opportunity with many of our friends who only tuned in on Sunday morning, and we are grateful to encourage the many who missed it now. We believe sharing our heart is the most helpful thing for us to post today, AND we believe continuing to work together toward the unity, love, and justice our Savior died to make possible is our daily task. Rather than remove this post we think it’s better to engage the confusion it has created for some who saw it here. Good communication always starts with questions and a willingness to listen. We have listened to the questions some of you have asked (and the frustration some of you have expressed) and want to respond to your questions and concerns. We understand that many of our body, and those who follow us from other locations were not able to be with us this weekend when we gathered last Saturday night on the Watermark Dallas campus. On Saturday we prayed for our city and grieved over the injustice and unrest flowing out of the tragedy that was George Floyd’s death. We prayed … for those who have been wronged, persecuted, exploited, and murdered … for grieving families … for communities ravaged by destruction. We spoke extensively about the historical racial tensions and injustices in our society. We read Scripture and spent more time praying (using this prayer guide - https://www.watermark.org/blog/thessalonians-prayer-guide) through 1 Thessalonians, the book we have studied these last 10 weeks. Today, we continue to pray that revival, reconciliation, and healing begin with us and spring forth from our community of faith as we share the hope of Christ with a hurting world.

We think Todd’s short message that he recorded Monday would be a blessing for you who desire to ask questions and listen as we respond to your concerns.
