Amanda S. C. Gorman is an American poet and activist. Her work focuses on issues of oppression, feminism, race, and marginalization. Gorman was the first person to be named National Youth Poet Laureate. In 2021, she delivered her poem "The Hill We Climb" at the inauguration of U.S. President Joe Biden. Her inauguration poem generated international acclaim, and shortly thereafter, two of her books achieved best-seller status, and she obtained a professional management contract. In February 2021, Gorman was highlighted in Time magazine's 100 Next List. #womenshistorymonth

Born in Kansas City, Missouri and raised in San Pedro, California, Misty Copeland began her ballet studies at the late age of thirteen. Misty joined ABT’s Studio Company in September 2000, joined American Ballet Theatre as a member of the corps de ballet in April 2001, and in August 2007 became the company’s second African American female Soloist and the first in two decades. In June 2015, Misty was promoted to principal dancer, making her the first African American woman to ever be promoted to the position in the company’s 75-year history. Misty is the author of the New York Times Bestselling memoir, Life in Motion, co-written with award-winning journalist and author Charisse Jones, published March 2014. She has a picture book titled Firebird in collaboration with award-winning illustrator and author Christopher Myers, published September 2014. Dr. Jill Waggoner holds a Medical Degree and a Master’s Degree from the University of Oklahoma. She has certifications in both Preventive Medicine and Wellness Coordination from the prestigious Cooper Institute. Dr. Waggoner is a residency trained, board certified Family Practice Physician, with nearly 30 years experience.

She has studied Functional and Integrative medicine for the past 15 years; an approach that seeks to find the cause of disease and uses multiple healing modalities to help patients obtain optimal health. Most recently she received a certification in Plant Based Nutrition from Cornell University. She has dedicated her life to teaching her patients how to flourish and embrace better living through better health.

She is Black History.

Meet Lady Chyna! Lady Chyna currently serves as a member of their Firehouse Youth Dance Company. She has always loved helping her community thus Chyna decided to also join the Firehouse Community Outreach Team. The team participates in The Widow Project, which gives food and care to widows in need, Meals on Wheels, and other various projects with MegaCare. Not only does she dedicate her time to her church community, she also helps volunteer at her school. Chyna has been a part of projects like Be Projects, which helps other people who are in or have been in abusive relationships find resolutions and comfort, and Becca’s Closet, which provides formalwear for students who cannot afford to buy new dresses and tuxedos for prom and homecoming. Chyna also participated along with her school club, Girl Boss, in a Christmas Toy Drive that helped give gifts and food to families who couldn’t afford Christmas meals and presents. Chyna is a part of the Varsity Cheer Team at school and is also a member of Fellowship in Christian Athletes, Younglife, African American Alliance, and GirlBoss. With all of her extracurricular activities, Chyna still believes that her education is most important. She plans to pursue her degrees in business marketing, accounting or finance, whichever the Lord says is best for her. And she hopes to use her business degree to become an entrepreneur.

Meet Lady Nia! Lady Nia has not only dedicated her time to the Distinctively Debutante Program but to her academics, extracurricular activities, and volunteer work. She currently serves as the president of her school's Black Student Alliance program. During Lady Nia’s time at the Distinctively Debutante Program, she learned not only how to strive academically and professionally, but how to maintain a heart of gold. And she has been sure to carry these lessons through all aspects of her life!

Meet Lady Amelia!
Lady Amelia loves art, traveling and learning. She has an amazing eye for artistry and is very creative, when Amelia has an idea she can use what is around a room to create a beautiful masterpiece. Amelia is a junior in high school and an Honor Roll student. She takes her education seriously and plans on going to a HBCU in Texas. Amelia is delighted to have gotten the opportunity to be a part of the Distinctively Debs program. From her involvement she has experienced what it is to have a sisterhood along with the importance of one. It has allowed her to see and be a part of an unstoppable and powerful group of women who are led by God. While being in this group she has learned many lessons, such as how to maintain a strong relationship with God, how to be successful in anything she puts her mind to, along with what it is to be a lady.

Meet Lady Courtney!
Lady Courtney has been a part of the Distinctively Debutantes program since she entered at the Junior Miss Level and has attended the Potter’s House of Dallas, along with her family, since her birth. Courtney also attended Clay Academy Private School where she gained her spiritual foundation. She loves people and shows this through volunteerism in the Destiny World Children’s Ministry classrooms, and participating on their dance team. Courtney has also volunteered with Creative Movement ArtZ, an up and coming youth nonprofit organization her mother started for young children who are interested in the arts, as a dance and music instructor for the children attending the summer day camps and Sarahz Girlz. Courtney is a part of the National Honor Society and has been a part of the organization since elementary school. Through her membership, she has volunteered at places like the North Texas Food Bank, ASPCA and at her school by assisting the janitorial staff. At her high school she took part in volleyball, track, student athletic training, and choir. After high school, she plans to attend Texas State University and major in Health Science. Courtney then aspires to earn her Doctorate in Medicine to one day become a college Team Physician.

Meet Lady Chelsea!
Lady Chelsea is a sweet and quiet young lady. Raised in Amsterdam, Netherlands, she recently relocated to Dallas and is acclimating beautifully to her new surroundings. She enjoys reading, quiet time and comes from an entrepreneurial minded family! A brilliant young lady, Lady Chelsea is only 18 years old and halfway through her freshman year of college. She is grateful for the relationships she’s established in the Distinctively Debutante Program and is excited to use all that she’s learned to pursue her God-given destiny.

Meet Lady Madison! During her time in high school, Lady Madison participated in numerous organization such as, Student Council (class officer), Black Student Union, National Honor Society, Prom Commute, and Family, Career, Community Leaders of America (FCCLA). Madison is also captain of her track team and a current member of the cheerleading squad. After school, she plans on furthering her education by going to law school to become a criminal defense attorney. Madison is a devoted member of the Potter’s House of Dallas and has attended the church since she was three years old. She even took a volunteer position as the head teacher of the two-year-old class in Destiny’s World, The Potter’s Houses children’s’ ministry. Madison loves helping people and making them feel good, especially children.
