New in #braille: "Exodus" Parts I & II by Stephen J. Binz and Little Rock Scripture Study 👨‍🦯📚🙏

Our client Jim B. is taking a class at his parish Our Lady of Angels in the Catholic Diocese of Dallas and he requested these! Here is more about these titles published by Liturgical Press:

The exodus is the central event of the Old Testament, giving meaning to everything else we find in its pages. Part One of this study takes us through the first fifteen chapters of Exodus—from slavery to the call of Moses, from plagues to crossing the sea, from captivity to freedom in the Sinai. Discover that God hears those who are beaten down and liberates those who are in need of his justice.

Part Two of this study covers the final 25 chapters of Exodus. Beginning with the insecurity of the desert wanderings, to encountering God on Sinai and then constructing the tent of dwelling, God’s people learn what it means to be part of a covenant with the one who liberates and also gives the Law to guide and direct them.

Diocesan Synod Consultation Sessions

Bishop Edward J. Burns invites you to be a part of a historic and exciting time for the local and universal Church

As the Diocese of Dallas is set to begin a multi-year synod process, we have been called by Pope Francis to join dioceses throughout the world in participating in a Synod of Bishops to address the fundamentals of synodality itself. Answering that call, Bishop Edward J. Burns welcomes the faithful to join the Diocese of Dallas in prayerful discernment during a series of synodal catechetical sessions that will be vital in helping chart the course for both the local and universal Church. These catechetical sessions seek to help the faithful of the diocese better understand the diocesan synod itself, their role in it, and address the questions that have been presented by the Holy Father for his synod on synodality.

Be a part of this exciting journey of faith by registering online for the first of four catechetical sessions at www.cathdal.org/synod-cs

Bishop Edward J. Burns has recently embarked on a multiyear diocesan synod process for the Diocese of Dallas. At the same time, Pope Francis has announced a universal synod for the whole Church, which will draw on input from dioceses around the world. An important question to answer then is: what’s the difference between these two synods?

Living our Catholic Faith in the Diocese of Dallas

The Catholic Diocese of Dallas was first established on July 15, 1890 with a bull issued by Pope Leo XIII. The diocese currently covers an area of 7,523 square miles and includes the following counties: Collin, Dallas, Ellis, Fannin, Grayson, Hunt, Kaufman, Navarro, and Rockwall. The Diocese is led by Bishop Edward J. Burns, the eighth bishop of the diocese.

The Coat of Arms of the Diocese of Dallas📷

Crests or coats-of-arms tell about the history of a place or a family, the crest of the Diocese of Dallas is no different. Through its imagery, the crest presents a symbolic history of the Diocese of Dallas.

At the top of the crest is a bishop’s mitre, the tall hat worn by bishops that is a symbol of their office. Beneath that is a red shield with a number of objects. Red is the color of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, patron of the diocese. In the upper right hand corner are crossed swords, the symbol of St. Paul who died by the sword. It represents the mission at St. Paul, Texas in Collin County. St. Paul mission was the first Catholic Church in what is now the Diocese of Dallas.
