Panhandle Singing Men were well represented today at the Texas Baptist Worship Summit at Wayland Baptist University.

[02/09/19]   Just one of the many wonderful reports and blessings we’ve received from New York after our combined trip in October. This report comes from South East chapter Director, Jeff Nelson. He’s continued to be in contact with Brian Eddinger, Lead Pastor at Crossroads Church, Central Islip Campus, NY. Praise the Lord that Singing Men of Texas got to have a lasting impact on this church!
Texas Baptists

Dear Tom and Phil,
I wanted to send you this update from the Crossroads Church in Islip, NY, that we visited and led worship at on Sunday of the NYC Mission trip. Our team consisted of men and spouses from the SE and the Panhandle Chapter.

I am so excited to see that they were able to pay off the tax debt so that their place of worship will continue at that location. In 2017, they had 300 attend the Fall Festival, so this year’s attendance was a wonderful increase. Our main ministry assistance was to get them new bibles. The Pastor asked for 50 study bibles. The SE chapter raised the amount needed to purchase the bibles. I remember the smiles and excitement on the faces of the members that have not had a bible. After our concert tonight, I will let you know if we can purchase more bibles for them (I am sure we can).

I am so excited for Brian and for what God is doing through him at Crossroads. I have asked him if he has any additional ministry needs to assist him for the summer. I will let you know if he gives me a list!!

PS. Dan, please pass along to your group.

Update for Crossroads Church, Central Islip Campus.

We're still here! Thanks to your generosity, we were able to pay off our tax debt. That has allowed us to continue our ministry here in this building and God has continued to bless the work here.
For our Fall Festival (that you guys helped us hand out flyers for), we had over 400 people attend. From that, we have had 6 new members join our church as well as making lots of contacts. From the new members that have started attending since then, one of them is getting baptized next month. We were also able to distribute about a dozen Bibles at the Festival. For every one of them, they told us it was their first Bible that they have had. They could not believe that we weren't charging them for the Bibles. That alone made a huge impact on the lost here!

In the last couple of months, I have been picking up people from a local shelter and bringing them to church. From that ministry, we now have 10 new members and 2 of them just got baptized this past Sunday. That makes our 18th and 19th person baptized here in the last 2 1/2 years! Each one of them has gotten their very first Bibles as well, and one of them, here name is Melissa, has started a one on one Bible study with one of our members going through the book of John in that Bible. Melissa received one of your Bibles and is now marking it and studying it. She said that the Bible has never made sense to her, but now, everything is different, she can't get enough of it! It is exciting to see her "on fire" for the Lord. (I included a picture of her with this email. It is from this Tuesday when we had our free community soon as she finished eating, she was already pulling out her Bible to study!). After seeing the change in her, now 4 more of her family members have begun attending our church. What a blessing those Bibles have been!

I did gave away the last Bible this past Sunday. The last one went to a new couple who came that had just moved here from Pakistan. They were formally Muslim, but converted over to Christianity. They looked up our church online and wanted to check us out. Their goal was to be able to attend a Bible believing church here in America. They could speak broken English, but they wanted to be able to speak it better. I asked if they had an English Bible and they said they did not. So, the last Bible we handed out went to these 2 converted Muslim believers who now have their first English Bible. They were very excited to have it!

All of this has been made possible through your generosity and God's movement here on Long Island. Thank you so much for being a part of God's work here and we are very grateful for your willingness to come alongside of us! Thank you so much!

Great future ahead for the Singing Men of North Central Texas chapter!
