What is Good Friday?
Good Friday is the day we commemorate the passion, suffering, and death of Jesus. It is part of the three-day period known in the Catholic Church as the Triduum. The Triduum begins with Holy Thursday and leads us into the celebration of Christ’s resurrection at Easter.

The key parts of the Good Friday journey are as follows:

Agony in the garden.
In the garden of Gethsemane, Jesus sweats blood as he contemplates what he is about to undergo. After praying and surrendering to God the Father’s will, Judas (one of Jesus’ disciples) betrays Jesus with a kiss and Jesus is arrested.

Scourging at the pillar.
After being brutally mocked and abused, Jesus is handed over to Pilate. Although Pilate finds Jesus innocent, the crowd demands his crucifixion. Pilate relents, has Jesus brutally scourged, and sends him to be crucified.

What is Holy Thursday?

Holy Thursday (also known as the Last Supper) starts a three-day period known in the Catholic Church as the Triduum. This marks the end of Lent and leads us into the celebration of Christ’s resurrection at Easter.

The Triduum is an incredible opportunity—not just to remember the past—but to enter into and relive the last supper, trial, crucifixion, death, and resurrection of Jesus.

Two important events occurred on that first Holy Thursday, the day before Jesus suffered and died.

1. Jesus Washed the Disciples’ Feet
2. Jesus Institutes the Eucharist

Lent is the perfect time to form new life-giving habits and abandon old self-destructive habits. But most of us just give up chocolate. Then, when Easter arrives, we realize we really haven’t grown spiritually since the beginning of Lent.

Lent is not just about giving things up, like chocolate. Lent is about doing something—something bold to become a better husband or wife, father or mother, son or daughter, friend, neighbor, etc.

What if this year you did more than just give up something during Lent? Do something life-changing. Sign up for Dynamic Catholic’s Best Lent Ever: http://ow.ly/XxHcw
