We can't wait to see you this Sunday! We've got TWO guests in the building -- vocalist Gillian White along with harpist Laura Logan Brandenburg.

Gillian received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Texas (2018) and studied with William Joyner and Carol Wilson. Currently, she can be heard singing with the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church Adult Choir on Sunday mornings.

Laura Logan Brandenburg has served on the Texas Christian University School of Music faculty since 2001, where she teaches harp and harp pedagogy, coaches the TCU Harp Ensemble, and is director of the TCU Summer Harp Workshop.

This Sunday's works include the southwest premiere of "A Canon of Peace" by harpist Maurice Draughn and "O Salutaris" by Arthur Honegger.

Tomorrow's guest musician is Kiel King. A graduate of the El Paso Conservatory of Music and Southern Methodist University, Kiel has participated in the NATS regional conference and worked with the SMU Meadows Opera theater.

Mr. King will be performing Albert Malotte's "The Lord's Prayer" at the 10:30am Sunday service. Written in 1935, it has remained popular in churches, concerts, and recordings. In many ways, it represents his musical output: fairly simple, focused on religious settings, melodic, and highly singable.

See you all on Sunday!

Sunday's 10:30am guest musician is Brittany Kerstein, who will be performing Franz Schubert's "Ave Maria."

Brittany Kerstein (Jones), soprano, is a native of Louisville, Kentucky, she holds two master’s degrees in vocal performance and library science, bachelor’s degrees in biology, music, and voice from UNT, Bellarmine University and The University of Kentucky. A Spinto Soprano, Brittany is highly accomplished in opera, art song, and musical theatre.

One of Schubert's most well-known songs, "Ave Maria," was composed in 1825 when he was 28 years old. “Ave Maria” has gone down in history as one of his most cherished and financially successful works. While this composition never had liturgical purposes in mind, this song found tremendous acceptance and popularity among Roman Catholics, particularly in Latin. According to Schubert, in a letter to his father he stated that "Ave Maria" was successful in captivating its listeners and devoting them completely to it, heart and soul. This is a testament to the melody’s brilliance and ingenious composition.
