Holy Trinity Catholic School-Dallas

Educating Dallas-area children since 1914, Holy Trinity Catholic School provides the highest quality Catholic education and after-school care at the most reasonable cost for children from Pre-School through Eighth grade.

Holy Trinity Catholic School opened in the fall of 1914 with 32 students in a small wooden building on Holland Ave. The school was staffed by the Daughters of Charity. By 1925, enrollment had increased so much that a new school was built in our present location. Renovation to that building continued over the years to maintain and improve our facilities. Our most recent addition has been the multi-purpose Community Life Center which serves both the parish and school with a beautiful gymnasium and meeting rooms. In 1963, Holy Trinity was the first Catholic elementary school in Dallas County to receive accreditation from the Texas Catholic Conference Education Department. Academic excellence and achievements as well as extracurricular activities have always been a part of our school. After almost 75 years, the Daughters of Charity withdrew from our school faculty in 1987. Our school is now staffed by wonderfully qualified and caring lay teachers dedicated to the Catholic education of our children. Holy Trinity is the oldest continuously operating Catholic school in the Diocese of Dallas. As such, we have watched the city of Dallas grow up around us. Because of our central location, we serve families from all over the city of Dallas including the fast-growing Uptown area. We are proud that our rich tradition continues to inspire academic excellence in our students today. Students will develop an appreciation for lifelong learning.

Catholic Schools Diocese of Dallas

Our Catholic schools are a family that embraces each of our students, especially those who are in most need of support. Our faith teaches us that every human life is sacred, and that injustice and racism are an attack on human dignity. We join our prayers together for an end to racism in our hearts, in our communities, and in our world, and we pray especially for our black students and families and all people of color whose stories have gone unheard.

Though it hasn’t been the end anyone imagined, we are thankful for the people leading our Catholic schools during this time.
Pictured is Dr. Matt Vereecke, a member of ACE 11 Tulsa who is currently the Superintendent of Catholic Schools for the Diocese of Dallas.
β€œI decided to stay in teaching after ACE because I felt my ACE experience alone wouldn’t change the system to the extent that it needed to be changed. I wanted to make sure that future generations of teachers would have the supports and the resources necessary to succeed, and ensure that they wouldn’t have to leave the profession because they were not supported.” 🍎
Thank you for your lifelong service to Catholic schools, Dr. Vereecke!

Thank you to all our graduates! We wish you nothing but the best! Don’t forget to come visit πŸ’›πŸ―πŸ’™ #betogerboldbegold #gotigers #htcs #dallas #tigerterritory #holytrinitycatholicschool #classof2020

The Catholic Foundation

Congratulations to the 28 Dallas-area Catholic churches and schools, plus nonprofit organizations that received $1.18 million in grants from The Catholic Foundation during today’s virtual spring grant ceremony that you can watch here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5AMTqjhejlc&t=78s

The grants will:
β€’ Help with a wide variety of building upgrades,
β€’ Support educational learning enhancements, and
β€’ Enhance social service projects

In addition, the grants provide valuable tuition assistance to local Catholic schools to help families who otherwise would not be able to afford a Catholic education for their children. The impact of these grants will be felt for decades.

Today’s nearly $1.2 million in grants are just a piece of a much larger story. In 2019, The Catholic Foundation distributed more than $33 million through more than 2,100 grants to more than 660 organizations. Over the years, The Catholic Foundation has provided more than $203 million in grants.

Catholic Diocese of Dallas

Statement regarding Masses for the weekend of April 25/26

Public Masses and gatherings will not resume this weekend at churches in the Diocese of Dallas. The health and safety of parishioners and the community at large are priorities of Bishop Edward Burns. The bishop is staying steadfast with his decree issued March 31st indicating that churches are closed through the end of this month.

A new decree will be announced after details of the Governor’s next statement can be considered. The bishop will consider information from medical experts and government officials before consulting with the diocese’s priest advisory council in coming to a decision on the best time and way to resume public services.
