A great way to enjoy the Feast Day mass for Our Lady of Guadalupe! 🌹

Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe During Pandemic
Mostly a Virtual Experience

The annual celebration of the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe will be celebrated at the Diocese of Dallas cathedral in a much different way this year due to COVID safety protocols.

The celebration at the Cathedral Shrine of the Virgin of Guadalupe will be primarily a virtual experience with the Serenade to the Virgin, the Matachines dances to our Lady, Midnight Mass
and Mañanitas are all being offered online only.

None of these events are open for in-person

The faithful are asked not to gather at the Cathedral on Friday night, December 11th to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

Four in-person Masses will be celebrated in Spanish in observance of the Feast day on Saturday, December 12th at 7 a.m., 9 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Please note that in-person Mass attendance will be limited to 50% of the cathedral’s occupancy. Worshippers will be allowed in
on a first-come basis. Pews are roped off and once capacity is reached, ushers will ask people to either return for the next Mass or go home to watch the livestream of the Mass.

Please visit for the full slate of events.

The Guadalupanas just had their first ever official Zoom meeting tonight! While we miss all of our members greatly, everyone's safety is our top priority. Thankfully we were still able to find a way to see everyone's smiling faces 😊 Gotta love technology!

We are so proud of Seminarian Benjamin Chavez and continue to pray for him and all other seminarians as they persist in their studies. 🙏

Seminarian Spotlight: Benjamin Chavez

How did you start discerning the priesthood?
I resisted the call throughout middle and high school. After my first semester of college I stopped resisting and was finally determined to seriously discern. However I was still too immature to truly enter into the discernment of seminary. So I walked away from pursing seminary and started working at a factory: there I developed a daily prayer life and was thus able to really enter into the Christian life. I grew in maturity through prayer, fraternity, and self-denial and entered seminary six months later.

Who is one of your heroes and why?
Ravi Zacharias was a Protestant Preacher who greatly impacted my life, igniting my pursuit of wisdom and leading me to its source: Jesus Christ. I would listen to his sermons on my commute from working at a factory, a time in my life where I was just starting to mature in my faith after stepping away from pursuing seminary.

#MarianMonday - During the month of September we honor Our Lady of Sorrows. "In this iconography, Our Lady of Seven Sorrows is at times simply represented in a sad and anguished mode by herself, her expression being that of tears and sadness. In other representations the Virgin Mary is depicted with seven swords in her heart, a reference to the prophecy of Simeon at the Presentation of Jesus at the Temple." -

Receive with understanding and compassion the petitions we place before you today, especially... (special intention).

We are comforted in knowing your heart is ever open to those who ask for your prayer. We trust to your gentle care and intercession, those whom we love and who are sick or lonely or hurting. Help all of us, Holy Mother, to bear our burdens in this life until we may share eternal life and peace with God forever.
