Hi everyone! Here's an interesting article posted by my team at Benchmark Private Wealth (my Fellows work placement/ internship). It might interest some of you that were a part of our conversation at The Narthex this past Wednesday - specifically relating to the topic: iPhoneX and the way technology continues to dominate our culture. Check it out!
A co-worker and I consider a friend, Ryan Casey Waller is releasing his new book this summer. It couldn't be more appropriate with what is going on in today's society. Buy it out on Amazon. #compassion

COTI (Church of the Incarnation) Young Adults welcomes all those among their second stage of adulthood. It is not exclusive based on age.

COTI Young Adults page does not align itself with any political organization or Christian denomination outside the world-wide Anglican Communion. Its purpose is to encourage our young adults to be educated and aware about current events and/or religious viewpoints that relate to Christianity. If you have an opinion on any articles, notes, or any events, we encourage you to post about it. It is prohibited to use any hate speech, slander, or derogatory language.

Mission: To help and encourage young adults daily to surrender their lives to a personal relationship with Jesus, our Lord; and as a result, they are willingly and able to obey God's commands and receive internal peace forever.

A King Like No Other | Sermons | Church of the Incarnation

Did you know corona means crown?
There are many false kings in this world.
There is only one true King,
and he has overcome the world with all its troubles. With everything going on in our world right now, it’s easy to forget that it’s still Lent! So, what’s been happening every Sunday in Lent, in the Gospels? We learn that Jesus is the king—king over the world, the desires of the flesh, and the power of the forces of darkness. But is he king ov...

Forgotten Lenten Practices

Did you forget too? There’s only one week left in Lent. What Lenten practices are you hoping to squeeze in before Good Friday?

[04/02/20]   Why you can’t just pray away anxiety, usually.

James 1:1-8 Like a Wave Driven and Tossed by the Wind

Disoriented and chaotic. Can you relate to that feeling? That’s how it feels to be tossed around by waves. In James1:1-8 we get some wisdom on how and what to pray when we feel like waves driven and tossed about by the realities of a world in pandemic.

Christianity Offers No Answers About the Coronavirus

“Lament is what happens when people ask, “Why?” and don’t get an answer. It’s where we get to when we move beyond our self-centered worry about our sins and failings and look more broadly at the suffering of the world. It’s bad enough facing a pandemic in New York City or London. What about a crowded refugee camp on a Greek island? What about Gaza? Or South Sudan?”

What does it mean for us to take on a posture of lament?
When grief and anxiety take a toll on us, how do we lean into lament? Will it drain us of all our strength, in heart and spirit (if not also mind and body)? If not, how?

How can we turn to Christ in lament? How can we be formed into Christ’s likeness in this season of lamentation? What has given you joy in its midst? It's not supposed to

Sitting at a solid 6 over here, y’all.

“My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus' blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
But wholly lean on Jesus name”
Song by Robert Critchley

“Cast all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.”
1 Peter 5:7

[03/26/20]   CS Lewis, Coronavirus, and a Collect for Thanksgiving.

“Do not look forward in fear to the changes in life; rather, look to them with full hope that as they arise, God, whose very own you are, will lead you safely through all things; and when you cannot stand it, God will carry you in His arms.

“Do not fear what may happen tomorrow; the same understanding Father who cares for you today will take care of you then and every day.

“God will either shield you from suffering or will give you unfailing strength to bear it. Be at peace, and put aside all anxious thoughts and imaginations."

Francis de Sales (1567-1622)
