Skillman Bible Church

I'm asking for prayer, please. One of my amazing friends is currently in surgery and just had both of her thyroid glands removed, due to a cancerous mass on her right thyroid. She is like a sister to me, and I just can't imagine how hard it is going to be for her to keep believing that God had a plan, even for this. She has 3 children at home (10,15 and 17), and is scheduled to be married this Labor Day.

I ask that you pray for strength, determination, and comfort for her during this time, as well as compassion and understanding for her family.

Thank you, and I hope everyone has a wonderful Mother's Day. Hug your babies (even the big ones)!!
I'd like to ask for some major prayers for a friend's son. He is in very poor health, and has lived a life full of health issues. He has surgery scheduled for tomorrow morning. In her words, their best case scenario is most peoples' very worst case scenario. I can't imagine what that must feel like, as a parent, and how terrifying that must be. It's such a complicated situation, that I can't make heads or tails of any details. Just please pray. Thank you all!!

Skillman Bible Church is a community determined to see God's reputation increase both at home and abroad. Join us for worship services each Sunday at 10am.

Join us Friday for an ensemble Christmas concert!

Day on the Green: How 5 turkeys, a homemade smoker started a local music fest

Check out The Advocate's article on Day on the Green! (Photo courtesy of Jason Mitchell.) No one knew Red Reynolds built his own smoker that could fit five turkeys. Nor did anyone know that he played honky tonk every Wednesday night at Adair's Saloon. When his buddies found out, they rolled his smoker down to Skillman

Merry Christmas!

[12/18/16]   Baby, it's cold outside! We have our heaters going early and our campus will be nice and warm when our service starts at 10. We'd love to have you as our guest as we find out why Jesus was born. Hope to see you soon!

The Dallas Marathon is this coming Sunday, December 11. Many of us will be affected. Come north to Mockingbird, head to Skillman, and turn south.

Here is the course map to help you plan your route.

[04/25/16]   Do you ever feel like your life is crazy busy, on the verge of spinning out of control? Are you constantly exhausted, wondering why life moves a million miles an hour? Is there any hope for us who do? Join us this Sunday, May 1, as Pastor Jeremiah begins a three-week sermon series called "Crazy Busy."

The Big D Marathon is this Sunday, April 10, and it will impact the roads surrounding the Skillman Campus. If you live near the lake, DTS, or south of our campus, check out this map and plan an alternate route.

[03/27/16]   Looking for somewhere to celebrate Easter tomorrow? We would love to have you join us at Skillman tomorrow! Worship service stats at 10:00, then we have an egg hunt and bar-b-q lunch at 11:30. Hope to see you there!

[03/10/16]   In the midst of suffering, have you ever wondered, "Does God even care about me?" Come find out if He does on Sunday as our Family Pastor, Mike Turner, preaches on the book of Job. Service starts at 10 am (don't forget to set your clocks forward Saturday night), and we'd love to have you be our guest.

[03/03/16]   Do we believe and confess a social gospel? Come find out on Sunday as we look at Nehemiah 5. Service starts at 10 AM and we'd love to see you there!

[02/08/16]   This past Sunday we kicked off our Nehemiah sermon series by looking at chapter 1. We learned that God wants us to respond to bad news in our broken world by asking God to break our hearts for what breaks his, praying with love for God and others, and recognizing our unique positions and taking action.

Join us at 10:00 AM next Sunday as we look at chapter 2!

[02/05/16]   Pastor Jeremiah is beginning a new series on the Old Testament prophet Nehemiah this Sunday, titled "Repairing the Ruins." Come find out how God wants us to respond to bad news in our broken world as we look at the first chapter of Nehemiah. Hope to see you at our worship service on Sunday at 10:00 AM!

[12/11/15]   Don't forget! This Sunday, Dec 13, is the Dallas Marathon, and the area surrounding the Skillman campus will be difficult to navigate. For most people, if you can work your way to Mockingbird, head to Skillman, and go south, you should be fine.

Here is a link to the course map so you can plan for an alternate route.

Hope to see you on Sunday!
