[04/29/18]   #BEGOLDEN Initiative

The Diocese of Dallas has launched a year-long initiative to promote the observance of the Golden Rule in our relationship with others, in particular with immigrants. Bishop Burns announced the initiative, called #BeGolden, jointly with Mayor Mike Rawlings and other faith and local government leaders.

The purpose of the year-long campaign is to remind area residents to treat each other as they want to be treated, historically known as the Golden Rule. While the campaign aims to inspire kind treatment of all people, it begins with a focus on immigrants. #BEGOLDEN encourages people to gain a better understanding of why immigrants fled their homeland to come to this country and how we can all work to treat these residents with more dignity and kindness.
