Next Thursday, February 7th all GRN C1s in North Texas are invited to come out to our live remote broadcast at Parra Car Care in Euless (209 Airport Freeway near 183 and Industrial Blvd) to see the 1939 Studebaker and meet Dave Palmer and the Parra Car Care staff. Anyone who buys a $100 raffle ticket during those four hours will receive a free oil change from Parra Car Care. This includes up to 5 quarts of Valvoline 5w/30 oil, an oil filter, lube, topping off of your fluids (brake, windshield wiper, brake, etc.) and a check of your tire pressure. [10/17/12] There will be no 'Good News' program this coming Monday since Dave Palmer will be out of the office. But the show will return soon and of course, keep listening to all of the other great programs on the station. I'm hoping that Bishop Vann will join us in November so we can devote a whole show to speaking with him about his seven years as bishop of Fort Worth and his plans as the new bishop of Orange, California. The next Good News program will be Monday, October 15th from 12-1pm on KATH 910 AM. We'll begin the show with a look at North Texas Catholic news and information from Diane Xavier. Then, we'll have Kate Shannon and other members of the Gloriae Dei Cantores Sacred Music group in studio. They'll be in town for a special concert on Tuesday, October 16th at St. Ann parish in Coppell. Next we'll speak with Cristina Caine from the White Rose Crisis Pregnancy Center about their November 2nd 5th anniversary benefit dinner at the Dallas Country Club. The keynote speaker will be Father Shanan Boquet, the president of Human Life International. And we'll close out the program speaking with Texans for Life President Kyleen Wright and Ruben Quezada, the author of the companion book for the 'For Greater Glory' book. Ruben will be the keynote speaker at the Texans for Life Coalition Benefit Dinner on Saturday, October 27th at the Westin DFW Hotel.
The next Good News program will be Monday, October 8th from 12-1pm on KATH 910 AM. We'll be joined in studio with the Mango Men from St. Gabriel parish in McKinney and will also speak with Catholic evangelist Richard Lane. They'll speak about the Monday, October 15th Mango Lecture with Richard Lane at the parish beginning at 7pm. Richard will give a talk called 'Putting New Wine into New Wineskins.' Next, we'll talk with Tom Kelly and Simone Andrate from the Frisco St. Vincent de Paul Society about their upcoming Frisco Golfing with Friends event benefitting the local community. We'll close out the show discussing the October 12th and 13th Fort Worth diocese Hope Conference for Abortion Recovery. Our guests will be Julia Holcomb, who suffered an abortion with then boyfriend Steven Tyler and Sandy Arena with the Yahweh Ballet who will be performing a pro life ballet at the conference. [09/27/12] The next Good News program will be Monday, October 1st from 12-1pm on KATH 910 AM. We'll be back in the studio and will begin the show speaking to Mr. Christopher Check from Catholic Answers who is coming to Fort Worth on October 7th for a talk sponsored by Fisher More College. Mr. Check's talk will be called 'Lepanto: The Battle and the Poem' and will begin at 7pm at Our Lady of Victory Hall in the Victory Arts Center in Fort Worth. Then, during the second half of the show we'll be joined in studio by Dallas Auxillary Bishop Mark Seitz and several members of the Catholic Medical Association's Physician's Guild. We'll talk about the guild and the upcoming diocesan White Mass for healthcare professionals on October 18th at St. Rita parish in Dallas.

Then, we will have Karla Alfaro from CCC of America on to promote the DFW event for ‘For Greater Glory’ a movie about the true story of Cristiada. Next we'll speak with Catholic apologist and EWTN Open Line radio host John Martignoni about his upcoming May 16th and 17th talks at St. Ann parish in Coppell. The second half of the show will be devoted to speaking about the upcoming primary and state elections which will be held this month. UTA professor Dr. Thomas Watts and Dallas attorney Jeff Turner will speak about the particular races and the principals that Catholics should consider when voting. Deacon Alex will be the keynote speaker at the July 19th KATH 910 AM Summer Speaker Series event at the Frontiers of Flight Museum in Dallas. We'll next speak with Theresa Thompson who will be the speaker at the May 19th Magnificat Breakfast in Lewisville. Theresa suffered the violent loss of her husband and her three children and through the pain came to understand the great mercy and grace of God and the redemptive value of suffering. We'll close out the show speaking to Suzette Chaires about the arrival of the International Pilgrim Virgin statue to North Texas next month to commemorate the anniversary of the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima. We will start of the program with an interview with Dallas Bishop Kevin Farrell, who talked to us about his trip to Rome along with his fellow Bishops where they all met with Pope Benedict the XVI in March. Then, we will go live to the new CEO/President of Catholic Charities of Dallas, Mr. Arne John Nelson, who is currently serving as the CEO & President of Catholic Charities of Central Florida. Mr. Nelson will take over the leadership duties of Catholic Charities of Dallas on June 11, 2012 and will discuss with us his goals and vision for this organization. Finally, we will wrap up the show with two leaders of the North Texas Men's Conference. This is the first conference of its kind in North Texas and will take place on April 28th. On Monday, March 26th at 12 noon, we will have a very exciting show that you do not want to miss. We will start of the show with Abby Johnson, former Planned Parenthood Manager in Bryan, TX and current pro-lifer, who has filed a lawsuit against Planned Parenthood of the Southern region in TX, where she used to work. Abby, along with her attorney, Mike Norton who is representing her in the lawsuit will be our first guests as they discuss the reason for the lawsuit against Planned Parenthood, along with all the lies Abby witnessed against Planned Parenthood. We will talk about what this lawsuit means for our Country and how it will effect the pro-life community. Then, we will be joined by some priests who will be working the North Texas Mens Conference and Retreat in April. Also, we will talk to a local athlete who won a prestigious national award for his community involvement, leadership skills, academics as well as athletic abilities.
