The Men of Nehemiah

The Men of Nehemiah is a discipleship and recovery ministry for men struggling with addiction.

The Men of Nehemiah is a Christian Community Service movement designed to rebuild the lives of families that have been torn apart by the vicious onslaught of poverty, homelessness, substance abuse, crime and violence. The primary ministry is a comprehensive discipleship and addiction recovery ministry for men, particularly the homeless and incarcerated. We provide homeless and formerly incarcerated men with residential accommodations, individual discipleship training, and addiction treatment. The program contains a robust military-style component which provides intense leadership and disciplinary training. They are often referred to as Soldiers for Christ.

Mission: The Men of Nehemiah (MON) serves homeless and incarcerated men with addictive disorders by providing: * Residential accommodations * Substance abuse treatment through individual, group, and family counseling * Life-skills and job placement training * Case management * An array of other recovery support services MON is a highly structured recovery program based upon 15 Biblical Principles which embrace the 12-step recovery model. Additionally, MON contains a robust military-style component which provides healthy disciplinary training.

At Men of Nehemiah, we begin a relationship with Jesus Christ which is not only the power behind our men's recovery but also the power that will sustain them as they reconnect to their families and communities. As a man is restored to a healthy relationship with God, he is restored as the spiritual leader in his family and workplace.
We have volunteers who invest in our men's spiritual growth. However, we also have staff that work with the men daily as they receive 12 hours each week of Biblical teaching: Please help to offset the cost of our Biblical Teachers. Click on the link below:

“The Lord has used Nehemiah to grow me from a boy into a man. I’m grateful for what He has done in my life. In my addiction I didn’t know anything about God, but today I have a relationship with Jesus Christ.” - Ike

Due to the growing concerns regarding the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) in the DFW area, the leadership of Men of Nehemiah has prayerfully decided to suspend Tuesday's All City Men's Bible Study and Sunday's Bread of Hope services.

We encourage everyone to follow the health and safety directives given by federal, state and local authorities and to be mindful of the elderly and those most vulnerable.

Please continue to pray for our nation and all those affected during this time.

"Individual commitment to a group effort--that is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work." - Vince Lombardi

"Hello, I'm Elizabeth Casey! I came to the Men of Nehemiah to be the new Garden Manager after spending 2 years with the Educational Concerns for Hunger Organization (ECHO). Simply put, I'm a broken person who has experienced the radical healing and restoration of Jesus. I look forward to cultivating growth both in the garden and the men being served here. It's an honor to join this staff - get ready for veggies!"

Men of Nehemiah is monitoring the impact of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). As you likely know, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) still considers the immediate health threat of COVID-19 to be low for the general public. The following are steps that we are taking and recommend to all.

Stay home or visit your health care provider if you are sick.
Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
Avoid touching your face, eyes, nose, and mouth.
Avoid sharing dishes, cups, utensils, towels, etc.
Use your sleeve or elbow to open doors.
Wash your hands often and thoroughly with soap and warm water.
Disinfect your home and workstation.

If you would like more information on the Coronavirus or influenza, including symptoms, transmission and prevention, visit the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) or contact your local health care provider.

"The Men of Nehemiah has helped me to develop a sense of gratitude through service. My relationship with Christ has been strengthened through total surrender" - Anthony
